Fallout Equestria RP (I mean, Why not right?)

Hey everypony who decided to click on this topic and look further into this! Thanks for coming this far.

 

For those of you who are not reading this (perhaps you didn't even bother to click, or you decided that this is a TL;DR), screw you too!

 

I decided I wanted to start another RP aside from my D&D RP, but didn't want to think much or work on something completely original, but I still wanted to be interested myself. So - I'm going ahead to make a Fallout Equestria RP based off the fanfic that is not going to use a stat system or anything like that. Just our normal Forum RPs with no dice, just actions within reason. So here we go - I will be starting everyone in a stable (vault for all you fallout players out there), vault 33 to be specific. As for where that is placed on the map, you'll learn when you escape. I will allow only 2 or 3 people to start outside depending on how many (if any) join this RP.

 

Introduction (Stolen from Fallout: Equestria by Kkat - seriously, how can I introduce this world better than this?):

 

 

 

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria...

 

…there came an era when the ideals of friendship gave way to greed, selfishness, paranoia and a jealous reaping of dwindling space and natural resources. Lands took up arms against their neighbors. The end of the world occurred much as we had predicted -- the world was plunged into an abyss of balefire and dark magic. The details are trivial and pointless. The reasons, as always, purely our own. The world was nearly wiped clean of life. A great cleansing; a magical spark struck by pony hooves quickly raged out of control. Megaspells rained from the skies. Entire lands were swallowed in flames and fell beneath the boiling oceans. Ponykind was almost extinguished, their spirits becoming part of the ambient radiation that blanketed the lands. A quiet darkness fell across the world...

 

…But it was not, as some had predicted, the end of the world. Instead, the apocalypse was simply the prologue for another bloody chapter in pony history. In the early days, thousands were spared the horrors of the holocaust by taking refuge in enormous underground shelters known as Stables. But when they emerged, they had only the hell of the wastes to greet them. All except those in Stable Thirty-Three. For on that fateful day when spellfire rained from the sky, the giant steel door of Stable Thirty-Three swung closed, and never re-opened.

 

 

 

Fallout: Equestria

Stable 33 is just a normal stable, so for all you out there who know about the fallout series - don't be expecting anything different from vault 101. Everypony is born in the Stable. Everypony works for the Stable. Everypony dies in the Stable. No exceptions up until now have been made to this rule. The wasteland is in shambles and nearly everypony struggles to survive every day. Weapons and armor are a must in the remains of Equestria, and one should be wary of anypony they meet. Bloatsprites, Hellhounds and many other mutated and twisted creatures roam the wastes killing and devouring ponies. Intense radiation turn some ponies into ghouls and kill others. Raiders and Slavers roam the wastes trying to make a quick bit off the misfortune of other ponies. All these horrors are kept away from the sheltered ponies of stable thirty-three by a large thick steel door made to withstand the barrage of a war of Megaspells.

 

I'm allowing 1-2 pegasi because of there rarity in the wasteland. Nearly everypony in the wastes and in the stables are either unicorns or earth ponies. Only other race that is playable will be griffin, and those are relatively rare as well and are non-existent in stables.

Name: Rusty

 

Species: Earth Pony

 

Description: Small grey earth pony that was orphaned in the vault.

 

Personality: Very down to earth (Pun not intended), calm and loyal.

 

Strengths: Melee weapons, endurance (Able to carry may items at once.)

 

Weaknesses: Usless from a distance, deathly afraid of anything to do with insects.

Species: Unicorn

Description: A sorroful unicorn with a past he would rayher forget... He has only wanted a friend ever since he could remember but because of his Red and Black colors, many thought him to be evil and attacked him. :blush:

Personality: Loyal, Shy, Quite, Trustworthy

Strengths:Melee,health

Weakness: Death to friends, Or anything that may cause harm to them.

Other: When upset, he may become enraged giving him great speed.

Species: Unicorn

He is in the stable!

 

Personality: Intelligent and logical. Will try to find a solution to a problem without hostile actions if possible, usually not possible. Since it doesn't work often, he will go to blows quickly, using his screws as weapons. Can be a dick if he feels like it.

 

Strengths:

Magical: Telekinesis with anything that is metal. He can change the shape of metal by concentrating hard enough. He can charge objects with electrical energies from small rechargeable batteries he carries.

None Magical: His knowledge of mechanics and mechanical devices. He knows how to create, fix, and dismantle devices given the proper tools.

 

Weaknesses:

Magical: Performing magic on anything that isn't made of metal. Any type of magic that isn't telekinesis and electrical currents is beyond his level of understanding.

None Magical: He is somewhat fragile and weak in terms of strength. He has a bit of trouble understanding none mechanical things and how they work. He is deadly curious about how things work, to the point of dismantling important equipment if he gets a chance.

 

Other: He fights using screws; this will be explained later on.

Name: Midnight Veil

Species: Unicorn

Personality: Intelligent, free-spirited, and cynical. Believes in freedom from oppression and will work towards that goal. Employs a variety of tactics to solve problems and obsessed with his philosophy of freedom.

 

Strengths:

Special Ability: Midnight has a magical affinity with the pony mind. In the most basic form, Midnight can function as a great psychiatrist. But with focus, Midnight can infiltrate every part of a pony's mind and visualize it with his own brain while the target pony lays unconscious, something he calls the Mindscape. The Mindscape can be used to delve deep within the Pony's subconscious and mess around there. Once entering the Mindscape, it is possible to play around with the pony's consciousness and vital functions.

 

Other Strengths: Midnight needs to keep in shape as the Mindscape is easily the most dangerous realm in Equestria. He's not the most fit pony but is of healthy physical condition.

 

Weaknesses:

Special Ability Weakness: Midnight requires full concentration to enter the Mindscape so it can't be used in the heat of battle, although the spell itself is instantaneous. As his spell isn't perfected yet, anypony who sees it coming can easily deny access. Even a pony who's already been targeted can force Midnight out with willpower alone. Midnight can't do anything in the Mindscape except see how the pony's mind is. Unless Midnight finds the right places to go and things to do there. Sleeping ponies can't be targeted with the spell as the Mindscape shifts so rapidly due to dreams that it's impossible to visualize.

 

General Weaknesses: Midnight is obsessed with his philosophy which results in logical decisions ignored and putting himself in harms way to defend "freedom". He hates being restricted, which definitely shows when a leader restricts his personal freedoms too much.

 

Other: The Mindscape is different for everypony and usually reflects their psychological status. So a pony with a high stress level would have a Mindscape that's much more chaotic than one who's calm. Midnight has no control over the Mindscape except interact with what's in it. The Mindscape also reveals the pony's deepest fears, which usually becomes real in the realm. So if a pony's afraid of Manticores and Midnight accidentally stumbles upon that part of the Mindscape, manticores start to appear and behave as the pony believes them to behave.

If that's the way it's gonna work Espionage, I will throw in control of the 'Mindscape' - including what dangers it will contain. This sounds like an amusing tool to play around with and one that could be used to advance the story through the acquirement of information.

 

I will be throwing together a character or two of my own to kick the story into action and may eliminate them later. I will start this in the afternoon (EST) some time.

This sounds really intressting. Dont know if i will fit in tho due to im an extreme newbie to RP. And my english isn't the greatest.

Species: Unicorn

 

In the Stable: Yes

 

Description: Red orange coat. Red and yellow mane. Warm fall colors. Quiet, kind voice. Cutie mark is an open book. Works in Stable library. Works repairing books and tries to make copies for the future. Loves a good story. Has been working on recording the library's collection on his Pipbuck.

 

Personality: Kind, yet shy. Always wants to help others, but is often afraid of others. Loyal to friends. Honest.

 

Strengths: Very intelligent. Agile. Wide variety of spells. Excellent with summoning spells and organizing. Has almost the entire stable library recorded on his Pipbuck.

 

Weaknesses: Has to deal with his own fears. Not very good at most spells he learned from his books.

 

Other: Feels he is a burden to others.

A word on Pipbucks:

 

 

 

PipBucks are worn on either foreleg, just above the hoof, and are genetically locked to it's user. This means it cannot be opened without extreme force, or specialised Stable-Tec tools and training. As such, without actually wearing a PipBuck, most features would be unavaliable to a user such as S.A.T.S or E.F.S.

 

PipBucks have a large amount of features, the following is a list of some of the most prominent.

 

-Display of current health condition.

 

-Assistance in administering various medicines.

 

-Radiation and toxins detector.

 

-An inventory organizing spell.

 

-Assistance in repairs.

 

-Storage of notes and maps, with automapping technology.

 

-Eyes-Foward Sparkle (E.F.S) Friend-or-Foe system and compass. (identifies nearby creatures as friendly/hostile and marks them on your compass)

 

-Stable-Tec Arcane Targeting Spell (S.A.T.S). (Spell that allows the user to slow their perception of time and helps them wield any and all weapons and target specific body parts and aim). Note: this spell has a cool down.

 

-Tracking of tagged objects or people, such as other PipBucks.

-Radio reciever.

 

-Ability to glow like a lamp.

 

It is (conveniently) the ultimate (adventurer's) tool.

 

It's pretty OP in the right hooves, so I may or may not nerf it.

 

 

 

Is it just me or does no one have cutie marks? lol. Also - if you're starting in the stable, you are going to start with almost no combat experience. the only ponies with any experience in any combat at all are the guards, and they don't have much. Therefore, you may be naturally good at guns or something, but you can't know that 'till you exit the stable. So you may wan't to pick a more practical job, or decide to start in the wasteland to start with survival and fighting skills.

 

Player Characters: (jobs and whatnot) - please look at my comments on your characters!

 

 

Finest Hour (Rusty) - No cutiemark? lol - You have been assigned to buck apple trees in the Stable's Apple Orchards due to your abnormal strength. (maybe include your cutiemark - anyways - approved)

 

Dark Sorrow (Dark Sorrow) - Considered mentally unstable by the stable. Monitored at all times, and assigned as Stable Guard due to violent and forceful behavior. (lol - perhaps rethink? I mean, you can be mentally unstable or what not, but IDK your skills as they would apply to the vault)(also your coat/mane/tail color doesn't affect how they feel about you. This is Equestria - not Nazi Germany)

 

Linguz (Gizmo) - Assigned to Stable General Maintenance - working on general maintenance to all machines in the stable, e.g. the Power Plant, Terminals and that jazz. (approved)

 

Espionage (Midnight Veil) - Set to work as Stable Psychiatrist due to his abnormal abilities. (approved)

 

Skullbuster (Johny) - RETHINK YOUR NAME PLZ! Assigned as Janitor due to no special skills shown in stable. (perhaps rethink your skills, stable life is that of a civilian (generally))

 

Vicke (Cypheron) - Blank flank? well your skills don't really apply in stable and you really can't know of them without leaving first sooo.... JANITOR! (perhaps rethink something, otherwise im gonna go ahead with what you have.)

 

Slendermane (Autumn Scroll) - Assigned to work as Teacher for the stable due to his incredible intelligence. (approved)

 

 

 

Anyways, im gonna give people a few hours to maybe rethink something about their characters - then I'll start.

Well, you can be if you want. I wouldn't mind someone becoming an addict, I alrdy plan on at least introducing a few drugs (including Part-Time Mintals), but most will be of my own creation. I won't tell you which are medicines, and which are drugs with addictive properties. I kind of want someone to be addicted.

Just to let you know, I have never played any of the Fallout games. I have read Fallout Equestria, but haven't read the side stories (just started Pink Eyes and will start Project Horizons soon). Also, I'm used to RPing a Pegasus. This is my first time playing as a Unicorn.

You really should play some Fallout. They are amazing games. I'd recommend New Vegas. Well, really, I'd recommend FO2, but it's quite old, and is hard to get the hang of, and punishes you for screw ups. It's also not at all like FO3 and FONV.

 

 

 

Name: born Simon, now calls himself Sigh, and won't answer to anything else

 

Species: unicorn

 

In the stable: nope.avi

 

Description: light grey, with a red mane and tail. Usually smiling, a creepy, I-haven't-decided-if-I'm-going-to-kill-you-yet sort of smile

Personality: used to be normal, but the war changed him. He was born in a vault, but it malfunctioned and its residents were forced to live in the wastes. He was drafted into a gang at a young age because of his talent with fire. He quickly became one of their top fighters, despite his age and dislike of fighting. Then his boss ordered him to burn an entire village because they didn't pay their fees. When Simon wouldn't do it, they threatened to kill his family, and he was forced to raze the village and kill many of the inhabitants. At first, he tried to come to terms with all he had seen and done, but he couldn't take it, and fell heavily into drugs. Now he takes a ton of drugs (I'm talking Ozzy Osborne amounts of drugs here) and views everything as a joke. He now enjoys fighting, and has little to no morals. He is unpredictable, since he often acts on whatever whims strike his deranged mind. 

Cutie mark is a lit match. 

 

Strengths: Good with fire and explosions, psychological warfare has no effect on him (since he isn't sane at all). His ability to think is no longer really affected by drugs, either because he's insane anyway, or because he's done so many drugs that his brain is permanently like that. Either way, he can always think normally (normal for him, I mean)

 

Weaknesses: bad with other types of magic, but can still do them with difficulty. Addicted to a ton of drugs, crashes hard. 

 

Other: works as a mercenary when he's low on money or supplies, otherwise, he just kinda wanders and does whatever.

The bell rang in the Stable classroom and echoed through the halls. Similar bells rang out in the Maintenance Department, Medical Department, Orchard, and the various other work places. The entire population of Stable 33, little more than 80 ponies, started to make their way towards the atrium for lunch. The meal of the day is known by everypony, as it is the same every day, every week and every month for every single awfully boring year in the life of a stable pony: the pale apples that are grown in the Stable's Orchard. As much as the chef ponies tried, only a limited amount of things can be done with the supplies that are given to them. Luckily, magic could provide some changes to the food, adding a bit of flavor to the otherwise dull meals.

 

(and a little bit on the condition of the stable)

 

As the bells stopped, the only sound besides the clop of hooves and the speaking of ponies was the thumping of the stable's power station deep in the bowels of the stable. Everypony knew that the Stable had been shut long past it's intended life, but no pony seemed to know why the door remained shut. The prevailing thought was that the sensors that detected the radiation levels outside still deemed the world uninhabitable, though many other crazier theories were whispered through the halls. The various machines that kept the stable alive were grinding to a halt, and while the overmare and her team tried to keep this fact a secret for morale reasons, it could be heard everywhere you go, and whispers from the maintenance department say that the power plant is on its last legs and has been for a long time. The lighting is lowered during the day and almost completely non-existant at night to reduce power consumption and reroute it to the Orchard's artificial sunlight.

 

Putting together a character to influence some things to get the story going:

 

 

Name: Silent Melody

Species: Unicorn

Sex: Female

In The Stable: Yes

Description: Dark Navy Blue coat with a lighter (but still dark) blue mane and tail. Piercing light blue eyes. Cutie mark of a C clef with flowing staff with notes on it. Her mane is extremely well kept and clean as well as her tail.

Personality: Intelligent, Kind, Confident

Strengths: Can sing and play violin with incredible skill. Her magic allows her to bend soundwaves to accomplish special needs and is a doctor. Her music, when infused with her magic, has the potential to heal. Being a musician, her ears are highly sensitive and can detect minor changes in sound.

Weaknesses: Physically smaller and weaker than most. Her healing magic also leaves her weaker depending on the severity of the wound.

Other: Assigned as Assistant to the Stable Doctor and recruited to play violin and sing for some of the stable's performances to uplift overall morale.

(It is worth noting that life in the stable eventually eats at one's attitude until they become depressed. The place lacks color in most areas and the majority of the music played on the stable radio was ancient pre-war music. The few artists that popped up in the stable population were treasured by the overmare and were put to work in music, painting and other areas to try and brighten everypony's day.)

 

 

 

Melody telekinetically grabbed two trays of pale apple mush with apples and apple cider and wandered on over to a table and placed the two trays down, one next to where she sat. She always arrived at the atrium for meals first because the medical department never received too much traffic. The only people who ever needed medical attention where those who got bitten by the occasional radroach infestation or fell down one of the stable stairways and broke a leg. Nothing ever serious happened. She took a bite out of one of the apples as she watched the other stable ponies wander in.

 

(@evilshy: I won't be doing anything with the outside ponehs just yet. gotta decide where you start and come into the story, and i promise it wont be long if we get posts rolling.)

jettson walked in a grabed a tray and sat down, he just got done fixing a few chewed wires, he decided to open a book and read while ate, a book he had read 50 times before, he could recite it in his sleep, but it was his only form of entertainment other than killing radroaches, which didnt happen much, he seceretly wished a bunch of them would invade the tunnels, he knew this thought was wrong, but it would be some action

[in maintenance]

 

Gizmo walked towards a stairway that went right into the roof. He held a small metal orb in his telekinetic grip. As he reached the roof, he kept walking. The orb began to glow the moment he touched the ceiling and he phased himself right through it.

 

He came up right behind Melody. He saw the meal set out on the table and groaned, "Same thing as always, huh? I'm already extremely bored of apples." He sat down next to her and began to eat. Between bites, he spoke again, "Had any interesting things happen so far?"
