Well I didn't mean to make you upset we can just be friends if you would like. Ginger Snap thought to himself if she says no I can at least make her happy and we can just talk about Ponyville and other things like that It is about time that she should make her own decision fairly and with out making me feel bad.

Red felt his face catch fire as he blushed profusely. This was the first time nopony made fun of him being an old "Blank Flank." Red then realised he had been asked a question, "Y-yeah sure! Dancing sounds fun! I can only do this one song though, I'm playing after it."

 

Artemisia smiled at the blushing young stallion, "I can't wait to hear you play. Let's dance!" She grabbed his hoof and pulled him into the center of the dance floor weaving through the crowd. She positioned herself directly in front of him and began to shift her weight between hooves and swayed to the music.

Red felt himself relax as he looked the mare in the eyes. She did not waver in her gaze, she genuinely wanted to dance with him. Realizing this, he took the lead and swayed between his hooves, spinning Artemisia occasionally. "Hope you don't mind me taking lead, I've had a lot of practice and I don't usually get the chance to show it....."

Artemisia smiled wide and laughed as he spun her, her blue dress fluttered out around her. "I don't mind at all!" She said playfully and smiled as their hooves caught an even and steady rythym, they were perfectly in tune. She kept his gaze, her eyes wide with excitement, she exclaimed "You are a very good dancer Red." as they danced.

"Thanks!" Red felt himself smile at her. She was absolutely beautiful! Her mane flowed around her face like it was a picture frame, her tail waved like it was a flag in the morning breeze, and her smile could make even Discord melt. Red had to risk it....

Artemisia shook her head, her mane cascading over her face before she brushed it aside from her eyes. "Oh no, I don't think so. I do not have a special somepony. Do you?" She asked her smile turning down a bit, but she smiled again and spun. What if he does? Why did he ask me? Does he..? She shook her head and made an inaudible sound. Her dancing slowed down as she waited for his reply suspensfully.

Red noticed the mare beginning to act like she was uncomfortable so he escorted her from the dance floor.

"No, I do not....." He confessed, "I haven't in a long time......."

Oh Celestia.....please tell me that I at least have a shot with her! PLEASE!!!!

"I write all sorts of stuff. I've dabbled in comedy but couldn't write it all that well. I love to write fantasy and um, I also like to try to write romance." She said, a blush on her face. "Romance just so happens to be one of my favourite genres out there, so of course I had to try to write some. And I don't know if I am that talented of a writer, I just write because I love to." She smiled, realizing that if he liked romance then they had something in common.

She sat down, "Thank you, I am fine. I just got...." She took a sip of the drink and looked up at him. " I uh...I was just afraid that you did infact have a special somepony and then I just...I...got sad." she shook her head. "Oh no, it looks like the song is almost over. You have to go on soon. I will talk to you after the set. Good luck!" She smiled at him.

Red smiled, the only reason he could think of that she would be sad is that she was interested in him as well.

"I'll see you after the set then!" Red chanced a hug with her, then told the bar tender that she was with him so that she could get free drinks. Then he headed for the stage......

Artemisia smiled and blushed when he hugged her, she hugged him back and waved goodbye. She went and sat at the bar, where she would have a good view of the show and be able to hear the music clearly. What does that hug mean? She wondered to herself as she ordered a drink.
