Master Blade the Bearded 112 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Anybody know any good pony songs for a person just learning guitar? I can't read sheet music (yet), so tabs would be best, as I can actually read those. Finger-picking would be preferred. Thanks for the help!
ProjectRKA 2,848 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 I would highly recommend going to the beginner section on songsterr.com. They have a good ammount of beginner tabs. Acoustic Cloud 2,202 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 (edited) Well Since you asked for finger picking /) I'm not sure what your level of beginner is... I know that my first finger picking song was Black Bird But if that is too much you could try stairway to heaven it's not very hard. Hope this helped... EDIT: wow... i didn't notice this was your post master blade the bearded... well then i know i should post some different songs lol Edited October 10, 2012 by Rainbow Dashey
Crispy 5,565 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Brain Stew by Green Day, Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. As for finger-picking, there's Dee by Ozzy Osbourne or Dust in the Wind by Kansas. 2 GET IN THE PIT On 8/23/2012 at 1:54 AM, Djenty said: ON MLP 4UMS ERRYTHIN IS SRS
Dusty Soul 2,614 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Well beginner guitar songs that don't have finger picking would be Iron Man by Black Sabbath, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana... As for finger-picking Good Riddance by Green Day. Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel. Samrules350 179 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Hmm Acoustic or Electric? Some decent songs are Back in Black - AC/DC, or pretty much any song with just chords and not alot of non-chord notes. Swiggity Swag, Comic Sans is irritating. Courageous Thunder Dash 7,825 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Here is a beginner version of Fluttershy's Lullaby I put together for guitar. If you know your scales and some chords already, that is good. The text on top of each bar is chord. In order to view this sheet music, you must download Finale Notepad 2012 from the Finale site here http://www.finalemusic.com/Downloads/Default.aspx?p=1 You'll have to create an account first, but don't worry, it's all free! Send me a pm with your email and I'll send you the sheet music. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them. Mizune 37 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 A great idea is to take an easy, slow paced song on any instrument and make a guitar arrangement. That's a perfect way to build skill.
Spatsi 151 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 Maybe try "Nothing else matters" or "Stairway to heaven"? A lot of beginners (or at least I) start frome these songs, they are quite easy. Master Blade the Bearded 112 October 10, 2012 Author Share October 10, 2012 Thanks for all the help guys, but I don't think I made myself clear. I am a beginner, teaching myself, with absolutely no experience. None. Whatsoever. So...the simpler, the better.
Samrules350 179 October 10, 2012 Share October 10, 2012 My one tip for you... Learn the chords inside and out, the scales as well because once you master those then you will be able to play most songs with great ease! Swiggity Swag, Comic Sans is irritating. Naphthol 7 October 11, 2012 Share October 11, 2012 a good way to quickly familiarize yourself with chords/scales and how they relate together (as well as to quickly memorize positions of notes in E minor) is to play through this sequence here. It's not a song, or pony related, but it's simple and covers a wide territory of uses, in all genres. These are 7th chords, played without the 5th degree if you are curious. |--------------------------------------------------------------------------- |--------------------------------------------------------------------------- |-----0----2----4----5----7----9--------11-------12------------------- |---0----2----4----5----7----9------10--------12---------------------- |---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |-0----2----3----5----7----8----10--------12--------------------------
