Purplepower started to look around. Some distance away, she saw a pegasus far off. "Hey, guys! Look over there!" She pointed off in the direction of the pony. Looks like another refugee. Come to think of it, I think I've seen him in Las Pegasus before! She tried to remember where she had seen him. Oooooohhhh! Duh! It was outside the library just before the building next to it crumbled on me! She remembered thinking that it was odd that he was running into the library instead of out. I suppose it sorta made sense to try to save at least some of the scrolls in there. Those scrolls must be worth a lot.

Star Keeper didn't notice the Purple mare until she beckoned him closer. She almost seemed... familiar. It had been a mass panic when the city fell around them (and his mind being focused on saving what he could from the archives), he could not distinguish one pegasus from the other. He tried to focus on his scroll, but curiosity got the better of him. It always did in the end.

The sandy blond stallion pulled the scruffy blanket over his back looked back at the purple mare. He wasn't normally this, well... social. This was going to be interesting. He tucked his scrolls into his small saddle bag and dragged himself up from around the fire. His burning curiosity spread as he neared her.

'Have I met her? Cant have, I don't recognize her. And yet she still rings some bells.' He slowly thought in his head as he approached.

He raised a nervous hoof in greeting as the group turned to face him, the only smiling face coming from the purple mare in question. She seemed... cheerful enough.

"Um... hello. I, um..." He attempted to hide his face under his wing. 'That could have gone a bit better.'

The pegasus approached her. It sounded like he said something, but she couldn't quite hear what he actually said. "Sorry, didn't quite hear that." She said, hoping that she didn't sound rude. "I'm Purplepower!" To her own amazement, she didn't feel shy and awkward like she normally did.

Well, that was... awkward. He was a mere inch away from facehoofing himself. Still, at least nobody ran off this time.

'Purplepower, where have I heard that before? Wait, answer the question, then you can think.'

He shook his head, regaining some matter of composure. 'Shes... pretty, to say the least. Wait, stop that brain, before you say something you'll regret.'

"Sorry, um, I'm... well, I'm Star Keeper. A Historian by profession. Um, nice to meet you Purplepower." He attempted a half smile but ended up looking something like a grinning dog.

(OOC: I'm moving us on ahead, if your OC isn't in Canterlot then please in your next post get them to it. Also I've never written for Discord before, so I apologize if I don't do him justice.)

Discord laughed with glee as he flew towards Canterlot. This has been too easy. Oh the way the turned on each other with just barely a push was wonderful. The distant castle was silhouetted by the light of the moon.

Star Keeper seemed only more adamant to increase the already stale awkwardness. It had been some time since he had had a proper conversation. While the others looked a bit perplexed, the purple mare still seemed fascinated.

"Soooo... you guys were talking about Canterlot. You planning on travelling there? Not that I was eves-dropping, I was just interested."

'Smooth.' His own thoughts seemed out to get him again.

"I mean, It sounds like, um... you were all talking about going there. I've been there before, not much in terms of defense, but it's quite pretty. It was along tome ago."

It was a long shot. It seemed yet again his curiosity got the better of him, if curiosity is what you would call it. Canterlot would at least be better than this excuse for a living condition.

"Have room for one more in your company?"

(OOC: I did the best I could with this one, but if you want me to post something else where they actually make it to Canterlot I'm good with that too ) "Nice to meet you, Star Keeper! I guess it would be alright if you came too." She said, trying not sound as awkward as she felt. This must be how other ponies feel when I'm all shy and introverted. Just then, she heard a laugh in the distance. It wasn't a pony laughing, it was the thing that had been attacking Las Pegasus. "Ummmm guys? I think if we want to make it to Canterlot, we better leave now before 'it' sees us." She grabbed her saddle bag and started putting it on. Crap! We better get there before 'it' does.

Mapmaker saw the... Thing, flying to Canterlot. Even as Purplepowder was saying something about it, he cked dirt on the fire, packing his bags. "Alright everypony, time to hit the road. 4's a good number." He walked off, saying, "Canterlot should be right up this path. If we hurry, we can make it."

"Good idea." She said, looking to make sure that nothing fell out of her saddlebag. Better make sure none of my junk fell out of my dumb bag. She thought to herself remembering that the buckle on her saddlebag sometimes didn't work properly. If only I could have grabbed a better bag.

Star Keeper noticed as every prepared to depart, so he simply shuffled back to avoid getting in anyponies way.

'Well, they were certainly quick to trust. I certainly wouldn't tag along with anypony who couldn't manage a simple greeting. I'm not normally like that, it's just been a rough time. It has been for all of us.'

I guess on up side to having everything you own strapped across your back was that you were always ready to depart if the time called for it. Star Keeper slung his bag back over his shoulder and showed he was set to leave any moment. It was nearly 70 miles to Canterlot and the journey would need to be a swift one. Getting caught in the open was probably not a smart idea.

"So four's a company."

Purplepower finished packing her things. She looked over and saw Star Keeper. He looked sort of lonely. Wow. Never thought I would meet somepony shyer than I was! She thought to herself. "Well, I'm ready to go!" she said as she started walking. She still had a nagging feeling that she had seen Star Keeper before. He seems familiar, and I think him in Las Pegasus before, but I can't be sure. She thought. Alright, that's it. I'm just going to have to ask him. She walked over to him. "Hey, uuuummmm, sorry this is kinda awkward, but you seem really familiar. Have we ever met or anything?" She didn't think that they had actually met before, but she thought she'd might as well ask anyways.

The question took Star Keeper a bit off guard. The group was ready to depart any second, and now it seemed there was a conflicting issue over whether or not two ponies had met beforehand.

"I don't remember."

Star Keeper looked down at the ground, avoiding any eye contact as he thought over what he knew. There just simply wasn't enough to say he had ever met her before. Besides, at this time it wasn't important, getting to Canterlot as fast as possible was.

"No, no I'm sure of it. I don't remember seeing you anywhere. Sorry." He trotted away from Purple power, trying not to seem to rude in doing so. There would be a time later to find out how the seemed familiar, but now was not it.

Star Keeper seemed nervous at her asking the question. He denied remembering ever meeting or even seeing her. "Oh, ok." She said nervously. Good job stupid! 'Let's try to be more friendly and less shy' huh?! You try to be more friendly and what happens? You scare him away! Now she was irritated at herself for asking at all. Well, better keep up with the group. She thought to herself.

"Hey, lets be friendly. No no, lets be shy. Shy is the new friendly. Great, I'm completely useless at this." He muttered to himself under his breath, being sure nopony else could hear him.

As much as Star Keeper was kicking himself, he couldn't hang over the topic. The company had begin the slow trek across the wilderness of Equestria and were on route to Canterlot, thanks to the guiding skills of Mapmaker.

'Woo, the journey of the Purple Friendboat, the Map reader, the Stone and the Socially Awkward pegasus. What could possibly go wrong?'

Well, I think I've had enough social fun for today, time to crawl back under my rock of awkwardness! She said, wanting to take her mane out of her ponytail so that she could hide behind it. Uuuuuuggg! Alright. That's it. I'm out. She started to fall back from the group. She didn't intend on leaving or anything, she just didn't feel friendly right now, after screwing up with Star Keeper.

The sun had slowly come to it's decline and the day descended into evening. The company had been on the trail most of the day, and many were beginning to fell the effects of it. The stars began to unveil themselves and shone across the evening sky, Star Keeper using them to take note of their position. He wasn't much of an astronomer, more a historian, but he knew a little about the stars.

It wasn't till the sun had set fully that the group finally halted, also giving Purplepower enough time to catch up. Far in the distance the city of Canterlot became visible, shining like a lantern in the dark. It was just as he seemed to remember it. Though everypony was tired they still had something to decide.

"Should we press on for another hour or so, or should we camp it here till dawn? Canterlot is now a short distance away and we could probably make it before it gets too late." Star Keeper addressed the company, trying to avoid the purple mares gaze. It wasn't that he didn't like her, no, it just seemed to constantly plagued his mind with curiosity.

Mapmaker said to Purplepowder and the new guy, him, "Hey, two lovebirds in the back. Can we stay together please; we don't know who or what is hostile, not with that thing still around. Best to have the protection of a group, then the loneliness of yourself." He was beginning to realize he had two social introverts.

It was starting to get dark out, and the group had stopped. Since she had faded back a little, she hadn't been listening whe Star Keeper had asked a question. It was getting a bit chilly out, so she gladly took her mane out of a ponytail and hid behind it. Man I hate wearing ponytails. She left the elastic band on her hoof. I wish I could just fly away and forget that this ever happened. But she just had to be clueless and miss that the building was crumbling. Just then, Mapmaker told them to stay with the group. "Sorry! I'm just kinda used to hanging behind the rest." She said, now a little embarrassed.

Star Keeper turned to face Mapmaker over the 'lovebirds' remark. "Hey, keep your opinions to your self if they aren't needed." though he did blush a bit. Star Keeper turned back to the skies. It was still growing darker, and the dim torch he carried would not last for much longer.

"We need to pick up the pace then. It's only going to get more dangerous as it gets darker." He turned to face Purplepower. "And that means keeping up with the rest of us."

He knew he sounded rude, but they needed to make it to Canterlot before it was pitch black. There was no telling what lurked in the shadows of Equestria...

Star Rain approaches the nearest refugee(a pegasus NPC). "Oh um, excuse me? I was just wondering..." stammered Star Rain, who is not the most social of unicorns. "I heard...heard rumors of this thing that's c-causing lots of disaster both physically and e-emotionaly. Can you give me a description of what it is?" she asked. The refugee looked at her with fear in his eyes. "I-I don't know... it was like, a dragon-pony like thing of all kinds of things! That thing...caused misery for everypony in my city...and my family," said the refugee. Feeling he was getting too scared to go on, she simply said,"Oh ok. Thanks for telling me." She left some apples for the refugees and raced out of the camp toward the library. I heard that description before, I know I did!

"Yeah, ok." Wow, can you spell 'jerk'? She replied under her breath. She was starting to get irritated. She wasn't exactly pleased with being called a 'lovebird', and was even less pleased at Star Keeper's condescending tone. She never liked it when ponies spoke to her that way.

Ah, when people get to know Star Keeper they realize what he could be. Arrogant; condescending; judgmental; he literally had a list prepared in his mind.

'There goes another chance to make a friend because of your need to be in charge. You just had to go and ruin it, didn't you? But this was different, they had to move fast. If they were slowed down they might not make it. Now is not the time for making fiends.'

The internal argument in his head seemed to keep him occupied, not noticing that they had drawn closer to the city of Canterlot. It soon loomed over them with an imposing height. They had arrived, just in time...

Mapmaker smiles an easy smile, "Relax guys, I was pulling your hooves. I swear, we'll be there within the next to hours. I know we're all tired, so lets take a quick break, relieve ourselves, get a drink of water or something, and start up again. Sound okay with everypony?"

"But we're so close. We can't stop yet. It's to dangerous to remain out in the open for to long, especially when it's this late."

A small tinge of panic scraped across Star Keepers face, trying his best to avoid letting it show to much. He wasn't to sure if they would make it now.

"Look, that... thing will take it's time. It will go everywhere it can between here and there, because it wants everything to be in disoray. We have enough time for a quick break, so we don't run ourselves into the ground. There is no point going on if we die in the process." *Takes a swig of his water*
