"Me? I'm North Light... Or Zhooves as most ponies call me..." he said, as he started to shrink down even more now that there were even more ponies around.

Oh Night... Where art thou? he thought to himself... Both night as in the time of day, and his brother, Night.

Kind of wish'd I had an instrument or something here now... I'd feel safer with one...

As Marathon got to know all the ponys he noticed a new one come in but didnt quite get a good look at him...or her. As a matter of fact he wasnt sure what the pony was except that they are a pegasus. He looked around at the other ponies and thought about the one from the dinning hall. "Hmm, i havent seen her in a little while. Maybe ill ask some of the ones here if they have seen her. I didnt even get her name." he thought to himself while he waited for Webnet to reply about his cutie mark. "Hey, everypony. Has anypony seen the one mare? Light brown coat, glasses. Yes, no?" he asked so everypony could hear.

Felix awoke from his slumber. He looked at his watch, feeling a lot more rested. Surprisingly, not much time has passed. He walked around his room, getting that really bored feeling again. "What to do, what to do." He muttered to himself. "Eh, might as well go see what there is to do around here"

The stallion stumbled out of his room, closing and locking the door behind him. He walked down the long hallway, uncomfortably aware of his black aviator sunglasses that were resting on his head. He left the hallway, where he saw some ponies socializing. He approached a younger looking, black-coated pony. He was asking if anypony had seen some mare.

" 'fraid not. Hey do you know what there is to do around here? The place looks okay, just seems kinda empty. Yah know? Name's Felix. Felix Mane. And yours?"

Marathon saw the new pony again. A stallion, great looking and strong. "Well that sucks. Im Marathon, if you're wondering what there is to do there isnt really much right now. I was thinking about making some fireworks, you're welcome to join me." He said in a confident voice. Although he did want to find that mare and talk to her, making fireworks would be a great time killer right now.

hellcat looked around, *soooooo, wheres my room?" after getting no answer she looked over and found a key for an empty room, number 666, she shrugged and took the key and dissappeared from the main hall.

She found the room and opened the door, smiling at the homey feeling of the room and set her saddlebags inside, before shutting and locking the door and returning to the main lobby then looking around and spotting marathon with a new pony.

"did i hear fireworks? used to make them at salt lick city, can i join?"

"Fire... works? You mean those things me and my brother have to dodge every now and then around new-years-eve? Those things that flashes and bangs?" he said, sounding kind of stressed. Since he and his brother spends most of their time up in the skies, anything shot up from the ground like that has to be dodged... And he could remember a few close-accidents with those.

hellcat grinned, "yes those things silly, their fun to use, though admittedly their probibly dangerous to pegasai, but we dont have any cloud cities where i used to live so we lit them off every now and again." she giggled like a schoolfilly.

"actually my brother once put too much powder in a firecracker, and apperently it got stuck on his hoof, you should have seen his face it was priceless as he tossed it as far as he could before it exploded."

she tilted her head "did you get hit by one zhooves?"

"Nay... The closest would be once when I managed to burn off a few feathers... Thank Luna those grow back. And my brother loves to pull pranks with it... He makes it appear as if he's hit, but dodges in the last second leaving an after-image... Scares the heck out of me sometimes." he said, with a low and kind of serious tone.

Its not that hard making any." he said now a little disapointed that some ponys dont like them. Who wouldnt like them? "Maybe on the way to my room i can go to the one mares room and talk to her. I probably made her mad by walking out on her like i did." he thought still keeping his main goal in mind.

"sounds like something my own brothers would do, the cheeky flanks," she snorted then turnet to marathon, "id love to mess around with some fireworks," she smiled "might give me a chance to explore this place."

she said as she started looking around the lobby and noticing the many tapistries in the main hall, some of them told actually very frightning stories, others, she guessed, told stories of the ponies that used to live here.

"hmm, very interesting place," she then looked around , "does anyone get a weird feeling in their rooms? or is that just mine."

He smiled at the pony who wanted to make some fireworks. "Well great! Folow me then, we'll grab my stuff from my room and then head outside." He said as he started walking twards the stairs. "Oh also i have something else to do real quick if you dont mind. You can wait in my room till i get back." He said now excited. "Oh and iron, can you mail that letter to ponyville thats on the desk right there? That would be great." He smiled in her direction as he continued walking down the hall.

"I haven't noticed or felt anything weird. Though I've been mostly sleeping since I came here... And I can still feel it's a bit too early for me." he says as he seems to get a bit unstable on his hooves and his eyes appears to be a bit tired.

I should've slept till dark... Or at least an hour or so more... He thought to himself.

After beeing ignored by Marathon she wanted to continue the registration of the green unicorn. But the unicorn who named herself Hellcat just snatched a key and left Iron Wing alone on the reception. "Aww c´mon... " she grunted. Iron noticed the missing keys number and wrote it down on the registration form. Then she sorted the form in the hotel index and closed the reception. The group of ponies prattled something about fireworks but Iron Wing didn´t want to join the group. "Grrr... out of my way!" Iron grumbled. She was a bit grumpy beeing ignored and left the lobby. With heavy metallic hoove steps the armored mare flounced upstairs to go into the big lounge she had finished a few days ago. She entered the nice decorated room and layed down on a big floor pillow next to the fireplace. The fire was warm and reduced her anger a bit. She was feeling comfy at last. Now she wouldn´t have to be angry about the annoying black stallion named Marathon or the strange thievish Hellcat.

As he was walking he noticed Iron looked kinda mad. She just told everypony to scram, and for what? "Was it something i did? Id hope not. Man if it was i keep screwing up with this pony. Ugh, i cant do nothin' right today." He said thinking out loud. Now atleast he knew most of the ponies here. He went back and grabed his letter off the desk and took it with him to his room.

 

When he finaly got to his room he opened the door and went inside. He didnt see to make sure but he though Hellcat was behind him the whole time. If she was he dint see her in his room when he left to go to the one mares room. As he made his way to her door he knocked. He wanted to fix things with the light brown mare from earlier, not only that but see if he didnt anything wrong with Iron. If only his head wasnt skiping things all the time.

Felix sat in the lobby, bored out of his mind. He didn't know what to do. After being reprimanded by some dark blue pony to get out of her way, he started getting annoyed. "Sheesh, what's everyponies problem today?" Felix wondered. "I mean, I understand if you're in a rush, but no need to get all pushy." He grumbled. These thoughts were nothing however, and it didn't get to him; he was the type of stallion that liked to assume the best in ponies. His stomach growled, triggering the thought that he had not eaten since he arrived at the hotel.

The footsteps of Felix's hooves were unusually loud as he walked to the reception desk. He was getting bored, and at this point anything could keep him entertained. Yes, even the sound of his hooves stepping across the floor preoccupied him for a little. The Equestrian Secret Service, or ESS, usually kept him quite busy. This stallion was not used to a free, do nothing period of time.

Felix made his way to the reception desk, which was empty. "Grreeeaaattt" Felix said, not realizing that he had said that out loud. He looked around for a hotel worker, and did not find one. As he was about to turn around, he caught the reflection of a golden bell, sitting atop of the desk. Felix looked down at it, reached forward and tapped it once, making it ring. "Hello? Anypony there? I'm kinda hungry..."

Iron Wing could not rest for a long time. Somepony tapped the reception bell so the dark blue mare got up and looked who dared to interrupt her freetime. She spotted a white pegasus with sunglasses. He looked kinda cool but Iron Wing shook off this thought again. She walked the stairs down again with her heavy metallic hoove steps and walked towards this stallion. She opened the reception again and looked at the stallion. "So, you are hungry cool guy? You get free food within the dining hall, there you can eat as much as you like. The dining hall is down the left hallway..." she said while pointing into the direction. She continued. "If you need to relax or want to make a party, upstairs is a dance hall, a lounge and a party room. The balcony isn´t fully fixed yet, so i ask you not to go to the third floor for your own safety."

 

Iron Wing looked at the cutie mark of this unknown stallion. "Huh... you must be Felix Mane... heard some things about you..." she said while observed him. Iron Wing had her own watchtower in Cloudsdale and she was scouting and patroling the borders of the country in unbelievable heights. Of course a soldier pony like Iron Wing had heard rumors about the ESS. Some guardians told that this force had very good trained members within their ranks. Iron had always respect for those who wielded much potential. But she was a good soldier as well, although not known by everyone. And she wanted it that way.

He felt the hunger sneak up on him.

"Now where's that dining hall..." he said to himself, as he went down the hall, eventually getting to the dining hall. However, as he entered he was slightly blinded by how bright it was.

Now of all times... I guess I'll just head inside... I can still see a tiny bit. he thought, as he walked into the dining hall, in search for some rice and sweet chilli-sauce... And maybe some pasta?

Hellcat followed marathon, but stopped and turning back "sorry iron, didnt mean to leave you standing there, but you just seemed to be busy." she smiled, "so, im sorry."

she then turned down to follow marathon, "i dont mind waiting, honestly im used too it, in the EDF we say "hurry up to wait." she smiled too herself, "anyway, what kind of fireworks?"

A dark blue pony arrived at the desk quickly. She answered him as to where everything was located. Then brought up his name. Felix grinned, inevitably knowing what that meant. "Yes, it is." The stallion said leaning forward, in a much quieter voice. "So you've-" he paused, as if considering even saying the next words. "-heard about me? You must have some affiliation with the Royal Guard to have...heard some things about me." He looked at the dark blue pony, grin still on his face. "And what might your name be?" removing his sunglasses from his head, revealing his light green eyes.

When Hellcat asked what kind of fireworks they were going to make, Marathon couldnt help but chuckle. "My friend, we are making my personal creation. Little popers. They're a six inch long bottle rocket with a burn time that will last about ten seconds. Once it reaches maximum hight it will detonate. And when it goes off, you will know when it goes off. The chemical mixture i use is extreamly sensitive and if you're not carefull it will do a premature detonation. Wich, isnt fun. Also when it goes off you're going to need to wear ear muffs to muffle the sound. The rocket is strong enough to level a whole tower of this castle if you place it in the right spot." He said all this with delight in creating his most dangerous but exciting firework. This requires carefull hooves.

As he walked into the dining hall, he started smelling food...

"If I can't see that well, I guess I can use my nose to fill the gap... And ears. However that will be useful..." he said to himself, as he walked right into a a table.

"Oops... Maybe I should just sit down somewhere..." he said as he sat down and waited.

As Marathon was waiting for the mare to open her door he kept explaining the forework to Hellcat. "Now when we set off the firework we need to be a ways from the hotel. I dont think Iron would be to happy if we blew out any windows in the place." He said softly laughing to himself. "When it goes off you should be able to see the shockwave in the air, its realy quite the thing to play with. But we do have to make sure no pegasi are in the air before we shoot it off." Now that he thinks about it, when it does go off everypony in the building and a half mile radius will hear the explosion even if it is hundreds of feet in the air. Everypony here is going to get a huge surprise.

Hellcat grinned, "sounds like my kind of firework," she smirked, "though ive messed with a bit bigger, accidently set off an artillery piece during training," she chuckled, "should have seen my commanders faces," she giggles "i mean, it WAS only training, and there werent any ponies within MILES of where we were,but im not allowed anywhere near large artillery again," her ears went flat and she had a annoyed expression.

Marathon laughed at that, "Well if you want we can try out some new chemical mixtures for a bigger bang. Though i already have a little poper made. We go and try it out right now if you want." He said headin back to his room to grab the gear neccessary for making the rockets.

She looked into his light green eyes, fascinated for a short time. Iron snapped out of it and answered Felix Mane. "My name is Iron Wing, first class guardian and in charge of the southern lookout tower in Cloudsdale. It´s not a combat or spy oriented job, but it´s the duty i like. Scouting the borderlines and patrolling the pony villages. But that doesn´t mean i can´t defend myself." she grinned a bit. "Of course is a first class guardian not a royal guard, but i think everypony within the garrison is satisfied with my capacity." Iron added.

 

She was happy to see a pony from the military just like her. Of course, Felix Mane was another class. He propably was more specialised and couldn´t be compared with Iron Wing. On the other side most ESS members usually were busy with domestic affairs. Iron Wing was strong and more like a frontline fighter instead of a special agent.
