Which Story Should I Focus On Writing More?

There is a contest I want to enter, that's deadline is November 28th, with a requierment of 10000 words. I've currently written 219 words to it. Or should I try to write a new chapter for my already released story, that I haven't released a chapter for in two months.

I know I should focus on the contest, since there's a real deadline, but I also really want to get a new chapter out.

What are your thoughts on this? Also I tend to be quite a slow writer.

Well since your a slow writer I would go ahead and continue with what you have done, because it looks better on you if you finish your stories than rather leaving them hang. But if the story you previously worked on isn't that good, I would say just start all over.

If you have people reading your older story, then don't leave 'em hangin' bro! The fans are the most important part! finish what you started is also a good saying to live by anyway.

Well, my older story only has a prologue and 1 chapter, with 154 favorites/followers (I think they should seperate them) on FiMFiction. I sometimes mentally sell myself short, such as thinking that no one cares enough about my story to care if I upload a new chapter. I know that's probably not true, but I can't help but think it sometimes. There is a link in my signature, if you want to check it out.

I really do want to enter the contest, though. It's a Spitfire x Twilight ship, that I have a few plans for.
