Which do you consider more canon?

The ponies that Lauren Faust wanted to use, or their replacements? One argument for the ponies that Lauren wanted to use is that they were what the creator wanted to use all along, and they would've been used if not for copyright, so why wouldn't they be more canon? On the other hand, they never made it onto the show, but their replacements did, and are well established. So it might not be accurate to say that they're any less canon. Or maybe they're equally as canon. My head is spinning just thinking about it, think imma go lay down now @.@

As for myself, I'll take the obvious answer and go with whatever Lauren considers more canon :D

Judging from what lauren originally wanted with the whole adventure pony thing and how hasbro refuse, I would say that the show would've probably turned out like some japanese anime with lots of fighting scenes if it was ever made with the high budget that it requires.

Do you mean how she originally wanted to use Firefly, Surprise and some of the other G1 crew? Well keep in mind that the Mane 6 would have the same personalities either way, the only difference is their appearance. Honestly the only deviation I can think of that isn't related to name or appearance is that she wanted Rarity to be the element of inspiration ( which at times would make more sense). I consider the characters we have now canon.

The replacements, or as we know them, The "Mane 6". I think it would have been waay too pink, and episodes would be way different. So I consider their replacements more canon.

The Mane Six as they are currently constituted are canonical. Any other designs are non-canonical---unless they happen to appear in the show at some point. Lauren Faust's initial designs never made it into the final product, so I would treat them as outside of the scope of the Generation 4 MLP universe.

I doubt the personalities changed all that much, so there is not much of a conflict for me. Personally, I find the Mane Six's colourshemes to be far superior to the originally envisioned ponies, so yeah, go Mane Six.

The current main six, seeing as they're the ones in the show. As far as I'm concerned the initial designs are what helped to evolve those characters into the ponies that are now canon. Its the same with most things, you have your first ideas and they you develop them into a more polished product. So the ponies in use by the show are considered as canon to me.

Not to pick on you grammatically but "canon" is an absolute phrase. There is no "more" canon. It either IS or ISN'T canon. It can't be more or less canon than something else. And I consider the ones that make it in to be canon.

But not only do I consider it, it's a matter of 100% fact, and not even an opinion, because by definition, whatever did infact make it into the show is canon.
