The group approached New Appleoosa along the railroad tracks, about 200 yards. The sun was now setting upon the horizon behind the stormy gray clouds that had yet to clear away. New Appleoosa could be seen to have several tracks leading in and out of the town, which couldn't actually be seen behind the walls of railroad cars stacked upon each other. A giant crane stood in the center, towering over the rest of town.

"Aint that the truth!" agreed Strong Hooves, "Perhaps they have a trading post too! At least try to get some money or supplies off these weapons". Strong began to quicken his pace as he saw the town getting closer...

Lunar laughed, "We definitely need a break!" He walked toward the town, jumping up and down as he walked.

 

(I just realized that Lunar has an odd personality. I planned him out as an emo/goth unicorn, and now he's turned into Pinkie Pie!)

"We should still be careful, just in case." He said, looking at his gun. "But no need to start a fight if they're friendly. I hope they have clean water."

Sigh got up on his hind legs and stretched. "Ah good ol' apploosa. Or new apploosa, I should say." He checked to make sure his guns were loaded. "The ponies who love here are pretty peaceful, or at least as peaceful as the wasteland let's them. We should be safe here for a while."

[colof=navy]"I hope you're right."[/color] Aria took a look through her scope at the traincar wall as they approached. Several ponies could be seen wandering the top of the walls, each equipped with a rifle. "At least they aren't dressed up in bloody makeshift armor."

 

Up on the wall, a group of guards gathered at that side of the wall, looking down on the group. They held their weapons warily, knowing full well of the raiders from that direction. One of the guards was looking through a pair of binoculars and stiffened. He passed then to the guard next to him and pointed to the large pony with the group who was wearing a battle saddle. As the group drew nearer to the gate, one of the guards called out "Hey! Stop there and state your business! And you with the battle saddle, take it off!" The pony had a threatening note to her voice as she shouted down at them.

Strong looked up at the guards that were shouting at him, suddenly wary now that he saw they had weapons that they could use quickly if provoked, "Um... We mean no harm to this town! We only come to trade and perhaps find a resting place for a little while" he called up to them, to prove his point, he dropped his large load of weapons and slowly began to undo his battle saddle, leaving it in a pile as he backed away from it, Just as much as I hate backing down from anypony, I realize that they are the ones with the upperhoof... just gotta play it calm and show we are no threat, he thought...

The guard nodded and they all lowered their weapons... "Alright, your allowed to carry small arms on ya in town, as everypony does. Just no battle saddles. We don't want ponies tearing up our home." She turned around and shouted something inaudible to the other side of the fence. With a groan, the crane came to life and swung around, latching onto one of the railroad cars, and the only section of the gate that was one car tall, and lifted it up. "You're all fine to enter and trade, just no pulling any triggers outside self defense."

 

Aria remained towards the back of the group looking up at the great crane with a bit of awe apparent on her face.

Gizmo prodded Aria with a hoof before pointing towards the gate. "Come on. We're going in, right?" He looked up at the guards and called up. "And exactly where do we put our larger weapons? I'm not just going to hand them over, not in this land. They say that you're friendly, but we can't be sure of that."

Strong nodded at the pony guard and decided to take lead into the town after picking up the weapons they wanted to sell/trade, calling back up he asked, "Is there any place you can keep my battle saddle until we leave again? I kinda just got it and rather it not be stolen". He looked up at the giant crane, giving an impressed whistle...

"Let's see. We need to find a shop or something so we can sell and trade. We need food and water, medical supplies, and maybe some more canteens. We also need to find a place to rest for the night."

Aria nodded and continued forward towards the gate. "Of course."

 

"Well, you could carry that saddle around, or ya could get yerselves a room in the saloon and lock it up in there. As for a shop, y'all should check Dizty Doo's Absolutely Everything. She does a lot of the trading round here."
