((Neat! I have an interesting idea on what to do; I'll edit this post with my proper post in a bit, I have some Excel spreadsheets to work on))

(I guess I’ll also control the mayor for this)

Post Haste and his family helped him out by supporting him to his feet and bringing him to the edge of the crowd so he could have some air. His mother and father, intent on hearing what was said, worked as quickly as they could. Afterwards, his mother stayed by him and his father returned to his place to watch the scene unfold. It was obvious how tense everyone was; you could practically cut it with a knife. Unfortunately, with the town hall stuffed to the brim with ponies, it was also getting hot and stuffy and a few ponies could be seen wiping sweat from their brows.

Sky Song’s knees felt weak. It was as though she suddenly realized she was the centre of attention of every pony in Ponyville and that was a little bit more than terrifying; especially when their fate felt like it was in her hooves instead of the papers. She looked back at Crystal and Cloud as though looking for encouragement before making eye contact with the mayor who was looking stern. Of course he did, he had to be calm. The mayor was like the anchor in this little community and if he was trembling with panic, everyone else would be, too. It reminded her of a game she played as a foal called Follow the Leader-

Wait a minute, a memory! This was a memory! A small glimpse of her past… the very one that she had lost. Well, not lost, just misplaced for a while. Or so she hoped.

It was very obvious that Sky Song had had some sort of epiphany by the way her eyes widened and the feathers of her wings twitched outside of the bandaging. She shuffled her hooves a bit, gaining some confidence and not realizing that she was leaving everyone hanging. “I remembered!” she suddenly shouted loudly. “When I was a little foal we used to play Follow the Leader! Oh, I remember that game! It used to be my favourite!” the dark coloured pony was prancing about, head held high and her tail flicking about in excitement. “This is wonderful! This is fantastic! This is-“

“Irrelevant.” The mayor was suddenly by her, to Sky’s surprise, and she cut her joyous moment short, looking embarrassed. “I knew of you since your sudden appearance in Ponyville and I have heard news about your recovery from Dr. Valium but this is not the time to be jumping about like a lunatic raving about your thoughts.” Of course, the mayor was not normally this cruel but it was very frustrating that at the very moment their problem might be revealed, the pony about to spread the news veered off like a lunatic in another direction. Without saying a word, Sky Song hung her head and stepped aside, staring at the floor. As much as she would like to know what was going on, she was totally entranced in her memory that played in her head over and over. She didn’t hear anything else.

The mayor felt a pang of regret at his shouting but he would apologize to the young mare later. Right now, he had something a little more important than a pony’s hurt feelings. He approached the documents cautiously, raising a hoof to push them open.

His eyes scanned the papers once, then twice, then three times. He pushed them about, separating them, tapping them, making no emotion as he read them. The town hall was eerily quiet despite all the ponies that were crowded inside. The ponies barely breathed as the mayor faced them once again with a wavering smile. “We are not in immediate danger.” He announced. “We can breathe a sigh of relief together! These papers speak of nothing that will return to Ponyville. I give my heartfelt promise to you all that we can sleep easy tonight and in the morning I will arrange for a new militia to be formed with the help of our new captain, Crystal Flame!”

Cloud was taken by surprise as Sky began to prance around talking about how she used to play follow the leader as a filly, he lifted an eyebrow to her and gave a confused gaze. When the mayor had raised his voice at her, he felt a slight bit of anger, he didnt have to yell at her... even if she was being strange. Cloud tried to get a look at the document from where he stood, but couldnt see anything. The mayor finally told them there was nothing to worry about, and that Crystal was the new captain of the soon to be formed new militia. When the ponies seemed to be relieved, they began to file out of the town hall, no longer making it feel stuffy. Curious, Cloud approached the mayor, "I know it may not be any of my business Mr. Mayor... but what exactley were in those documents?"

Crystal Flame wasn't usually this pessimistic. But the only thing his mind absorbed was the mayor's uneasy smile. Had he been lying? His mind connected his suspicions with the mayor's words. Not in immediate danger. He was so absorbed in trying to figure out how the puzzle fit together that he barely heard the mayor's announcement of Crystal's promotion.

If whatever, or whoever, got rid of all of Ponyville's military forces spared me yesterday, maybe there's a reason why I survived. His brain formed three conclusions.

1) They didn't kill him because they still needed him for something.

2) They didn't kill him because they couldn't for some reason.

3)They didn't kill him because they didn't feel like it, but they most certainly would if he kept interfering with them.

Either way, he decided to take his chances. Two out of three chances say I'll survive tonight. But if I stall, when I wake up, everyone else in Ponyville might have disappeared too. There was no better time to go look for what happened. Nodding his head in acknowledgement of the mayor's words, he turned to leave.

We've introduced a new roleplay system to MLP Forums. To maintain a consistent format, we have locked and archived all of the original roleplay threads in Cloudsdale Colosseum. If you would like to continue your roleplay, please re-create it according to the new system.
