The reason I add "spoilers" is because I'm telling what the next episode will be about according to synopsis, so don't say I didn't warn you.

 

Anyway, which trifecta am I talking about? The CMC solo trifecta. AKA, the next episode will have achieved that each CMC filly has gotten one solo episode.

 

First, Applebloom. She has gotten technically three solo episodes, but I believe the one that counts is Call of the Cutie. (There's a thread about which is the "counting" Applebloom solo episode of the three in Show Discussion if you wish to discuss that).

 

Then there's Sweetie Belle, with the episode Sisterhooves Social.

 

And finally, there's the next episode this weekend, Sleepless in Ponyville, which shall be starred by our filly pegasus, Scootaloo.

 

There's something, I think, that is worth noting. Applebloom was the one having her personality developed in Call of the Cutie, along with what I call the "secondary protagonist", or deuteragonist, who she would relate the most. In this case, her sister Applejack. The same happens in Sisterhooves Social, though it is much stronger here, with Sweetie Belle getting character development and the deuteragonist involved which is, again a sister, Rarity.

This leaves Scootaloo who we don't know anything about her family just yet. But lo and behold, who will be the probable deuteragonist in Sleepless in Ponyville? You guessed it. Rainbow Dash. And this is not a completely baseless statement as the the synopsis talks about Rainbow Dash telling scary stories in a camp of sorts which makes Scootaloo scared. My only belief is that the two will be the obvious main protagonists.

 

Now, COUNTLESS fanfics have been done with RD being or acting either Scootaloo's mother or sister or lost relative, etc. I'm not so sure that we'll get to see something about Scoots' family just about yet, but it is my strong belief that in this episode, we'll get to see a sort of sister like relationship. I'm not quite sure in which sense, but somehow it will be.

 

Another thing noted is, each second protagonist that I mentioned, is also the one pony each filly strives to become the most. Applebloom admires AJ, Sweetie admires Rarity, and Scootaloo admires RD. And as a fun fact, each episode happened in a different season. CotC in Season 1, SS in Season 2, and now SiP in Season 3.

 

I like to think that each CMC solo episode is deeply related. And as a plus, while I don't know how is the relationship of Scoots and RD going to be showed in here (if it does, which I hope so in this case), should it be like I mentioned, each sister relationship is different in between due to each characters been quite different from the other, and I think the writers had this in mind. Look at this little current facts, for example.

 

 

Apple Bloom and Applejack. Sisters part of the Apple Family which is known to have the biggest known sense of family.

 

Sweetie Belle and Rarity. Sisters connected deeply but in a more pull and push relationship, and having their parents living elsewhere.

 

Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash. They are not related and we don't know a single thing about their families.

I'll agree, they are portraying sister-like relationships between VERY different sets of people. All of the CMC to an extent worship the ground that their sister or sister-figure walks on but there is a massive difference between Applejack's strong bond with Apple Bloom and Rarity's grudging but powerful love for her little menace of a sister .

 

I'm very curious how the relationship between Dashie and Scoots will play out, but if it happens like I think it will then we're in for a very heartwarming episode.

 

And yeah, this is definitely intentional

Dash will certainly have a role in the episode, although I'm not sure what it is.  If I remember correctly the synopsis read that Scoots was  trying to fight nightmares or something.

 

The nightmares themselves will probably (hopefully) not be the subject. but instead Scootaloo's sorrows that cause them.  Which mean that, although unlikely, it is certainly possible that orphaned street urchin Scootaloo will become canon.

I think its highly possible that the episode will include Rainbow and Scootaloo bonding. Mostlikely in a sister like way.

 

I'm quite excited for the Scootaloo episode regardless. Even if she's my 2nd favorite CMC I still am really excited to see where this episode goes, I hope it doesn't disappoint regardless of what happens!

 

Ps. Dang waiting for episodes is hard :/

To be fair, I don't think AB is as much of an angel as one would think she is. But I get what you mean.

 

As for how the relationship will play out...I wanna keep myself under surprise. I will think it wil be a sister-like one, but after that, I'll maintain my mind out of it for now. I wanna be surprised by the writers.

I'm definitely looking forward to this, I've always been a sucker for CMC episodes, they're just so damn cute. And it's about time Scoot got her moment in the spotlight.

 

I haven't read much fanfiction, but I think the community is definitely onto something by saying that the bond between Dash and Scoot is going to get stronger. It'd be cool if RD introduced Scoot to the Wonderbolts.

 

Now that the trifecta is complete, do you guys think the writers will move the CMC forward? Sprocket from "Real Men Watch My Little Pony" on Facebook made an interesting theory, that in the end the CMC will get their cutie marks with all three of them having a special talent in counseling. And he thinks that in the end the CMC will grow into a bigger organization, led by AB, SB, and Scoot, and will become almost like the scouts, and they will use their talents to help other blank flanks find their destinies. Thoughts?

Oh, I never said Apple Bloom was an angel. Far from it really, when I called Sweetie a menace I was mostly speaking from Rarity's perspective. Apple Bloom if anything has caused more chaos than Sweetie Belle, it's just that Applejack is much more patient with her.

I am seriously pumped for this episode!!!!!  I really, really, really hope we get to learn something about Scootaloo's background, plus, it should be nice (if it does happen as you have predicted it will) to FINALLY see Rainbow Dash show Scoots some lovin' and be the big-sister figure that she's (Scoots I mean) always hoped she'd be!  I mean, that little filly has been pretty dang devoted to Dashie, so it could be a good episode about maturity, both for Scoots (overcoming her nightmares) and RD (taking responsibility and aiding a filly that looks up to her so very much!).  But writers, please, please, PLEASE, I AM BEGGING YOU, TELL US WHAT SCOOTALOO'S FAMILY SITUATION IS IN THIS EPISODE, I CAN'T TAKE WORRYING ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT MY FAVORITE CHICKEN IS OR ISN'T ORPHANED ANYMORE!!!!!!!!  Just a quick little exposition dump, that's all I ask, is that so much!!!  Huh?  Huh?!?!
