Stellafera 3,836 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 Inspired by this thread, which is about people not liking Merriwether Williams' writing. My post in there was basically saying that every writer has a different style and you can expect different things from them. So far I listed: Merriwether Williams: Cynicism and funny Applejack Mitch Larson: Team based action and a big climax. Dave Polsky: Slapstick and possible controversy. Charlotte Fullerton: Slice of life. So, feel free to make your own lists or expand on mine. Each writer brings something different to the table, but exactly what that is is in the eye of the beholder. 2 Latest Video: Come On: An Ode To Best Friendship "Says they don't like MMDW or Merriwether Williams: Inb4 Stellafera" - Sugar Cube

My post in there was basically saying that every writer has a different style and you can expect different things from them. So far I listed: Merriwether Williams: Cynicism and funny Applejack funny Applejack... So what you're saying is... Merriwether Williams is actually best writer? She does the best at not placing stereotypes on the ponies IMO. Rarity and AJ really shine in her episodes because of this I think. She also has been the best at actually using the elements each pony represents. But they all do well, and like I said in the other topic... you gotta have them all so you have different perspectives making the subject matter feel more dimensional and whole. 1 WTB: Luna, Trixie dog tags & AJ blind bag | This fandom needs more Mane-iac! | AJ, Rarity, and Trixie trot into a bar. Pan the Fabulous Ferret 2,642 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 Tis true, every writer, no matter what they write, has a special way of doing so. Every writer is unique.People have a hard time comprehending this simple little fact sometimes. =/
dekutree64 713 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 Meghan McCarthy: CRAZY PONIES! And dramatic character interaction. Favorite writer. To me, Merriwether Williams specializes in writing jerks The teenage dragons, the pre-Equestria clan leaders, assertive Fluttershy, Thunder Dust, all of the mane 6 in Mare Do Well... Cindy Morrow: Deep emotions and heartwarming lessons learned Second fave writer. I hope Corey Powell gets to do more episodes, to see if Sleepless In Ponyville was a one-time fluke just because it agrees with what bronies have been wanting for ages anyway, or if we have a new best writer on our hands
Rarietty 632 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 (edited) Amy Keating Rogers was given all of the considered "true" Applejack episodes before she left, and I thought by the end of season 2 she was the only writer that was actually able to expand Applejack's character. She's also very skilled at writing Pinkie and pop culture references. I'm kind of upset she left the show. Meghan Mcarthy is good at writing songs (every single episode that's aired she's written since Lesson Zero has had a song, and they were all awesome) and writing Twilight in particular. Also, writing ponies so that they go insane/are in pain/are sad. She's awesome at that. Larson is good at writing more adventure stuff, as well as introducing new characters. Cindy Morrow is very skilled at writing Rainbow Dash, that's for sure (for one, she wrote the two episodes in both season 1 AND season 2 that made me finally appreciate Rainbow as a character, which was Read it and Weep and Hurricane Fluttershy.) She's also good at writing emotional things with good morals. Edited December 17, 2012 by Rarietty
Coachskau 5 December 18, 2012 Share December 18, 2012 Is it bad that I don't notice the different writing styles? I've always chalked up different themes in shows to it simply being a differently-themed episode.
