I am an Evangelical Christian and have been so all my life, and my parents are the founders of my church, Yahweh Nissi Christian Church/Iglesia Cristiana Yahweh Nissi [spanish]. 

I am also what others could call... "hard core?" Conservative? I dunno. When I mention that I do not say bad words, do not drink alcohol, do not smoke, do not go to parties, mostly listen to Christian music and all that stuff, people call me that. I feel pretty happy about myself, that's what's important. <3 If any Christian bronies/pegasisters need any words of faith and counseling, I'm here to help anyone! <3

How could it be wrong to be both? MLP teaches lessons that Yeshua (Jesus) teaches in the bible: Love, caring, and helping others before yourself.

I don't see why it wouldn't, there are some theological differences but your average Christian regardless of denomination dosen't have a single clue about most of those differences. Most Catholics don't know what transubstantiation is, most protestants aren't familiar with Martin Luther (not to be confused with Martin Luther King) 95 Theses I know most catholics don't know about the Great Schism which caused the Eastern Orthodox church to split off from the Catholic church and wouldn't be surprised if most Orthodox Christians didn't know that much about it. Some Protestants have this misconception that Catholics literally worship Mary and the saints which is completely false although some of the veneration can be a bit much in my opinion.

 

Transubstantiation: The miracle by which the bread and wine becomes the body and blood of Jesus.

 

Martin Luther: Former Catholic monk who protested the corrupt practices of the Church and founded the movement of Protestantism.

 

95 Theses: The objections and posts that Martin Luther had mass copied and left on the doors of churches.

 

Great Schism: The separation of the Church in Rome with that of the one in Constantinople. The two evolving separately from each other causing a doctrinal divide.

 

The actual "worship" of Mary was largely limited to the Templar Knights. Far from accepted practice, that was in part why they were excommunicated and burnt at the stake. (Or at least that's what the Church used as justification for doing King Louie's bidding.)

Impressive, all your facts are right on. Anyway I have been watching this show on History Channel 2 called The Bible Rules which really gets into the nitty gritty about all the political, cultural, social and historical reasons for all the different laws, rules and edicts of the bible. It presents it in a neutral perspective that dosen't seek to prove or disprove anything but to dig into the facts and present them from a historical/anthropological perspective. I have a fairly good eye for history and a decent knowledge of the bible but I am really learning a lot from watching this show and am wondering if anyone else here has seen it. In one episode it talks about circumcision, it turns out that originated from the Egyptians, apparently they had their soldiers get circumcised as a sign of loyalty to the pharaoh.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. The Egyptians were weird like that. These were the guys who buried their honored dead with all their worldly possessions after removing their brain. (Although I'd rather live there than most places in the ancient world.)

 

That sounds like a cool show though, I'll have to look it up.

@@Nameria, @, @, It's a pleasure to meet you, I always enjoy meeting new brothers and sisters in Christ ( especially when they share my love of certain colorful equines    ). I'm working on a BA in Biblical Studies at Criswell College in Dallas, Texas. I plan on working towards a M. Div. as I feel called to the mission field in South East Asia ( Possibly China ).

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know each of you and I hope we can encourage one another in the Faith .

Spiritual Dryness. What you are experiencing is spiritual dryness. It's "a lack of spiritual consolation in one's spiritual life. It is a form of spiritual crisis experienced subjectively as a sense of separation from God or lack of spiritual feeling, especially during contemplative prayer." What you have before you is the true test of faith. The holiest people experience this dryness. Mother Teresa experienced this dryness for 50 years, and yet she pushed forward. 

 

This is where you are going to truly find if you believe in God or in "good feelings". Which is a more satisfying love to receive? A love based solely on whether the other person receives good feelings from it and will stop at the first sign of no good feelings? Or a love that endures regardless of what happens?

 

You have an opportunity to show God how much you truly love Him. You have a chance to truly have genuine faith in God. A faith based on nothing other than your choice to believe. A true unconditional love for God. As today's readings say on this Divine Mercy Sunday...

I'm a non denominational Christian and I am way way way to into Video Games and I always wanted to know if there where more Christian Bronies other than me and my three friends at my church.

I agree, it very much teaches to befriend unbelievers and to witness to them, and being a brony is great practice of that principle.

This was a belief that I carried with me every time one of my idiot friends told me that I was contradicting my belief by being a brony.

He probably cares because it's good to be among fellow believers especially in a community that seems, even if it isnt, like it is mostly opposed to religion, and like it or not in many situations when discussing real events we do differentiate between religions. And that is a bit of an unfair generalization to just say because people are from the USA that they are Christian especially since the United States is a place of many different religions and cultures.

 

But that's just how I would answer those questions... and umm that statement I suppose.

Bravo, good sir! I am impressed by your willingness to forsake the show in your desire to live a Christian life. It's pretty sad, but out of all the bronies I have seen who claim to be Christians, I think very few would give up My Little Pony for the sake of Christ. It is strengthening to hear a Christian say what you just said.

 

I too, have been wondering about my connection to the fandom. I like to identify myself as a "brony", a fan of MLP:FiM. It lets other people who also enjoy the show know about my stance towards it, accelerating my friendship with those people through common interest. But what about all the people who call themselves bronies who are obsessed with the show to an abnormal degree? What about all those who treat My Little Pony like a religion, a way of life? Or what about the bronies that sexualise or otherwise pervert the show? Am I lumping myself in with all those people by choosing to call myself a brony?

 

"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" - 2 Corinthians 6:14 (ESV)

I know what you mean but the verse from 2 Corinthians is talking about in a more serious relationship such as a girlfriend/boyfriend or a wife/husband if anything we are encouraged to be friends with and hang out with nonbelievers if you follow Jesus's example. And for those who pervert the show or are rather over obsessed with it they are for the most part the few and you shouldn't worry about that characterizing you. The only real reason to give up the show for Christ would be if it was affecting your personal faith and not that others who like the show don't share your faith.

 

But that's just my view on that

not been to church in like 15 years, I do not like crowds, or people in general really and I hate the hours of screaming and hollering from the preacher man, I get screamed at enough at home so the last thing I want is to listen to more of it, most of the people I meet in church I do not like either because they tend to be very hypocritical holier than thou people who are really snobby and sneer down there nose at me, I prefer to worship God in my own way without other people nit picking me over it

not really a people person, I really just stick with my goats and avoid as much real life human interaction as I can
