Oh, looks like I haven't posted.

Yup Christian Pegasister here. Baptist specifically. 83

 

Need to find myself a church though. I haven't gone since we stopped going to the last one.

I want to find one where I actually have some connection to the people there. Haven't really had "friends" at church (people my own age that I'd actually hang out with elsewhere) in years. There were some cool adults that liked me, but I always felt weird hanging out with the youth.

I actually like going to my mom's Bible study more than my own. But I was like 18 and they were all 40+.

What I mean is that I go to mass, consider the Pope to be a (still human) moral authority, and believe Jesus Christ was the Divine incarnate.

 

However, I also find credence in the Gnostic concept of gnosis and the Gnostic cosmology (not that the specifics of Heaven and God were taught that much in mass as opposed to morals in life.)

One must treat God like a true friend. If you only call your friends up when you need something or are in a bad way, are they going to be your friend for long?

I'm actually doing the opposite I've always thanked God for everything he's done for me, and how before even though he took my mother away I still had someone who loved me

 

Now I have no one who loves me, and since I know God can't help I don't bother him -_-

The best I can do is wish that you would believe that the Divine can help you. Just last night I cam the closest I ever have to abandoning my faith all together. Something outside of myself pulled me back.

 

Maybe It can do that with you too if you let yourself be open to It.

Maybe not so instantaneously, but there are other ways He can help you.

 

I actually agree with you though. My family always said, "God helps those who help themselves." Just praying and waiting for results to happen doesn't work, people need to be proactive.

Well let me ask you this.

 

If you pray for courage, does God take away all your fear or does He give you an opportunity to act in the face of fear? If you pray for wisdom, does He make you smarter or does He give you an opportunity to learn?

 

The Divine works through us, through people. Our burden is recognizing when the Divine is reaching out to us in more subtle ways. When It does, it won't be through a magic carpet ride but a chance encounter.

 

When we're young, our opportunities are more limited, so then we must be patient. Even then though, we can spend that time improving ourselves and God can help immensely with that. Attending to our faults, shoring up our virtues, and searching our souls for who we are.

I have no room to heal because I'm always dealing with pressure and critique from my family, and that doesn't help me at all to heal my depression. That's why I say I have no room, so I'm definitely not doing well at all spiritually

There are no easy answers that I can give you Misty. You most certainly are in a bad physical circumstance. That can be destructive for one's soul. Perhaps you need to meditate or pray or take up a personal hobby. Something to nurse your spirit at least a small bit. I have heard some say that bronies watch this show because it gives them some small comfort after the stresses of life get to them.

 

I know that God loves you, I know that friends could love you, I know someone out there could love you as more than a friend.
