Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!

I use it sincerely. The same way Jesus taught to love and tolerate people that others said were wretched or wicked, Jesus showed them warmth and compassion.

I don't doubt it, I'm just saying that some don't take it seriously, or pretend when it suits their needs.

There's pretty much nothing in life I'm more passionate about than Christ. God really reached out and saved me from some difficult stuff, and I try every day to put Him at the center of my life. I'm so grateful that grace exists in the world.

Relatedly, I'm working at a church for half of this summer.

Hey! Shire!

Good to see you still kicking around these parts!

On topic: I'm glad that you've found your calling in religion, perhaps you could share what lead to this? Not if you don't want to though, I can understand how personal these things are.

Hey! Nice to see you again! Now that school is (mostly) out of session, so I have more time for fun Internet things.

Anywhoo, I'm happy to share that story, but it's quite long (at least, the thorough version of it is), and I've got to leave soon. Gotta help set up for Wednesday night dinner and small groups. I'll come back and post it later tonight/tomorrow though.

Oh sure, no rush, I gotta split to. Nice to see you as well my friend. God bless.

You are a sheperd. If you look for sheep to sheperd, they'll scamper away and not want to be near you. Let them come to you.

You know, you may not have meant it, but that's exactly what I needed to hear right now. Thank you so much.  :)

God is SO meta. And there are people treating thousands of instances of this as "coincidences". Peh.

If you don't mind my asking, why?

Weeeeeeeeeeell, I was only in the fifth grade at the time and I aid to myself, "Law of conservation of matter & god? That makes no since, and science can tell you what you want, faith can lie to you." Also, I don't like the old testament and if I am going to believe in something I am going to believe without falter. If you 100% obey the bible and believe it you are promoting the hate speech and killing of gays and women and other people just because a book not written by the person/spirit tells you to. I just don't want that in my life. Also, it says in Genesis 6:6 that the lord regretted making us. Why am I going to believe in something the regretted making us? That makes no sense what so ever.

Okay, so I see some posts, and am inspired to say a few sentences, and now everyone is flooding me saying they needed to hear that for some reason.

God, you are weird. And I love weird.

*hugs God*

No, please don't feel ashamed. If you don't want to believe in God, no one here will tell you you're wrong.

Well, you already told me I was wrong anyway by saying you wanted me to say something stupid. No need to make me feel better about myself now, you already ripped it to shreds.

So am I and most Christians my age XD

Don't feel ashamed :)

Have to, it is the only way they will feel satisfaction. They already ripped my pride up into shreds so I think they got what they want.

I don't think that's what they're looking for. Christians are known for saying stuff they don't mean. And even if that was what they wanted, why would you give them the satisfaction? I've tried that before and it never works in anyone's favour

Where I come from people just fight to the point where one person just shuts up. Then the person who won gets all of the street cred.

Same here. I don't get involved, but it is definitely a big issue at my school. It gets physical, emotional, psychological... not a great place to live

I never said I wanted you to "say something stupid!" Please forgive me! I didn't mean to offend you or your sensibilities.

I only said "I was afraid of this" because I didn't want this to become another thread where people fight.

What he said. Mac here is very much a Christian, it's on his cutie mark there!

I didn't mean to say anything un-toward to you or atheists in general. I swear.

If you weren't like me I would be angry but right now I am calm, I have no idea why, but I am sorry too. I have overreacted again.

No worries, apology accepted and I apologize again in turn.

I do not have a problem with atheism or atheists. I want us all to coexist.

To be honest, no one lives their lives completely removed from doubts unless they're deluded or closed to the possibility of changing their minds. Everyone has doubts. They come and go as circumstances change in your life. But wanting to have beliefs which conform and affirm the reality around us is a commendable ideal. Just as long as those beliefs are subject to reality, and not subject to personal preference. The world is round regardless of how I feel about it. That means it's important to learn, experience, research, reason and deduce what you can about the nature of Reality and God; their [in]existence and so on.

The astronaut speaks the truth. For all my faith, it was greatly tested a couple months ago. Strong feelings of doubt entered my heart and caused me to question my belief in the Divine.

Of course, what made this easier though was the environment I grew up in.

"Doubt is good." My parents and priests would tell me. "How can you truly claim to have faith in something if it's never been tested?" My Catholic upbringing was one of nurturing warmth and understanding.

So when I grew up and grew distant from my roots, I still felt a connection to the Divine. True I was exposed to atheism and different religious schools of thought, but this just lead me to believe that the Divine speaks to different people in different ways.

So when my faith was finally tested, it was dark, and it was unpleasant, but it didn't destroy me. I came out with a greater appreciation for Jesus and the greater mysteries of the Divine.

And I don't have a problem with most Christians. (There are a few I cannot live with....)

Hell there are plenty of Christians can't stand. Just because we share faith doesn't mean they can't be jerks.  >_>
