Mask sat at the train station, awaiting his ride. He had decided to go on a vacation for no particular reason, and had bought a train ticket to a nice resort in the mountains. He had with him a bag containing several personal items. A coat with some arctic camouflage, a snow-globe with a model of Canterlot Castle in it, an alarm clock, and a Dungeons and Dragons map that he had been putting of drawing for a few days. The crowded station was filled even more as Mask's train arrived, and it's current passengers poured out. Mask began to make his way to a second-class first-class ((Retcon!)) passenger train. Perhaps the ticket wasn't worth the bits, but Mask didn't care. He was pulling no punches for this trip.

Staryshy trotted with a bounce in her step. She was going on a little vacation, heading to the train station. It was a thank you gift, Mrs. Cupcake had told her, for all that she had helped her with at Sugarcube Corner.

At first, Starshy had been surprised by the gesture. The gift was certainly more than she could imagine to be given. A trip to a resort in the mountains where it would be all snowy. After the initial shock had faded, she had accepted. Glowing and levitating behind her was her one piece of baggage.

Once she reached the station, Starshy glanced around. It was very crowded and she was careful to move around other ponies and try to step on any other pony's hoofs. Her green eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when she found the appropriate train and boarded. She then made her way to a first class room. First class, I can't believe it! The pony thought as she found her room and went inside.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* Storm's alarm clock brutally awakened him from his dream. The pegasus uttered a groan of disapproval. Why the hay did I set my alarm clock so early? He thought, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Something about a train...hmmm. Storm suddenly bolted upright in his bed, nearly falling over in the process. A gigantic grin slowly spread across his face. My vacation starts today! All of the tiredness left the stallion' body as he began to hastily gather his things. Storm regretted that he hadn't packed the day before but procrastination was a bit of a habit with him. Besides, the new episode of Doctor Whooves had been on, so packing had been pushed down his list of priorities. Luckily, Storm didn't need much for the trip anyway. His one bag contained a parka, a beanie, a pair of boots, and (a snort of contempt escaped his mouth) his alarm clock.

With all the necessary provisions gathered, Storm set off towards the train station. The blue-green pegasus let his mind wander during the flight, daydreaming about the approaching vacation and all of its possibilities. His mind settled on the topic of romance, however unlikely that was. He wasn't sappy stallion by any measure, but the thought of meeting a pretty mare up in the snow-capped mountains of Equestria had a lot of draw to it. Clearing his head, Storm looked up to see the train station coming into view. A minute or two later he landed and the train pulled up to meet him a short while later. Storm had (perhaps unwisely) spent most of his paycheck getting a first class ticket and he couldn't stop a lazy grin from appearing on his face when he entered the appropriate compartment. DEFINITELY worth the money he thought as he settled in his posh room.

"Beenie, coat, boots..." Snowdream recited, reading off her 'to pack' list. After tripple checking she bounced out her door, excited to begin the adventure that awaited her. She had won a holiday in some sort of resort, high up in the mountains. Snowdream had entered the competition from the newspaper, and five days ago, a letter came congratulating her and anouncing that she was one of three lucky winners.

The only downside to the free holiday was the transport there.

A blimp.

Snowdream was absolutly terrified of heights, just thinking about them made her naueous. This was one fear she was determind to face.

********

Snowdream found herself face to face with the huge blimp. With her saddle bag on her back, she crossed the crowded platform and stepped into the huge blimp.

"...I don't quite understand." A soft yet deep voiced chocolate colored stallion said as he stood in front of a desk. A smaller pony looked up to him. "It's about you, Cocoa. Everyone is worried about you. You work too hard. We think you all need a vacation." The pony suggested. Chocolate slowly shook his head. "But if I leave for vacation, who will work the mines and fields?" He asked. The pony behind the counter sighed and rubbed his head. "Don't worry about that. Listen, if you want, I do have some errands for you to run..."

* * *

The giant stallion stood at the train station, a light scarf wrapped around his neck as well as some ear muffs on his head. His golden eyes scanning the schedule as he read some of the destination names to himself. Once he found the right train he boarded and stood in one of the large train cabins looking in awe at the rather fancy displays. On Chocolate's back was a large saddlebag filled with goods he had been told to deliver to a mountain resort. It was of course a trick, they knew the only way to get Chocolate away from work was to lie about having more work for him to do. He was now bound for the snow mountain resort with a distant look in his eye.

Blazing Storm got up early in the morning to gather everything needed for her little trip. She had to deliver some mail to a mountain resort and at the same time, she had booked a room there to stay for at least a couple of days. It was not much of a vacation but she would need a little time to relax. She loved her work but sometimes it was very exhausting. She got her saddlebags full of stuff she needed for the duration of her stay and of course the mails. She got a fiery looking scarf wrapped around her neck and aviator goggles on her head and spirited as ever she walked outside to meet the day!

She noticed the amount of ponies at the train station and sighed. Blaze didn´t have enough money to travel by train. It sure would be fun in a way she had not experienced yet. There was a big and strong looking chocolate coloured stallion entering the train. "Whoa, looks like this one could pull the train by himself..." she mumbled smiling. She didn´t knew much ponies around Ponyville since she didn´t live here for that long. She was strong too of course... at least for a mare at her size. She continued walking and noticed the big blimp that was ready for takeoff. For unicorns and earth ponies this was a very unique way of traveling of course. Some ponies looked frightened like they had a fear of heights. All of this transportations had the same destination, the winter resort. But since she couldn´t afford to take one of these, she relied on her own wings to get there. It was a big distance she had to fly, but this wasn´t the first time she would do such a thing.

She put on her aviator goggles and started with a powerful takeoff. She lifted into the air and speeded up to a good velocity for traveling. It was not the fastest she could fly, but maintaining a traveling speed was not as difficult as racing. Like a little meteor she flew to her new destination: The snow mountain resort!

Garnet Sky turned off the alarm clock with a punch from his hoof, he then got out of bed and yelled at his mother "maaaaa', what time is it?" He was a little concerned as if he'd be late. "It quarter to ten, ain't ya' ready yet to go to the train station?" Garnet's eyes went from almost close to wide open, he was maybe going to arrive late, the train departed at about half past ten.

Garnet rushed to the bathroom to have a quick shower, luckily he had already packed his clothes and everything.

After he finished, he grabbed his luggage and rushed to the kitchen to have breakfast, it was only ten o' clock. For his surprise, the breakfast was already on the table, so he sat down and ate it so fast he almost swallowed it.

Then he kissed his mother goodbye, "Thank ma', that first class ticket may have cost you a lotta cash." "Don't worry kid, after all that work you deserved some vacations, righto? Bye!"

Garnet rushed to the train station, but before he left the farm, he went to the haystack to pick up his baseball bat, he couldn't just leave it there.

He finally arrived and rushed inside the wagons of the train, he found his seat in first class and sat down, relieved he had made it.

Night Song woke up with a yawn as sunlight poured in through her window. She turned around, about to go back to sleep again when then she realized that she's going on vacation! Oh geez! I gotta get ready! she thought, about to panic. Then she calmed down when she realized that she had already done that yesterday. She simply chose a white scarf, tied on her mane ribbon, ate breakfast, and went on to the train station with Chaser Wing accompanying her. Her bag had some coats and scarves and a bow and arrow in it. She heard there was an archery range at the resort.

At the train station, Chaser Wing helped her get her ticket and found her bunk bed on the train. "Alright, have fun, Night!" he said, stepping off the train. "You too, Nana!" Night Song told him in response. She watched as her father walked away from the train station.

(OOC: Yes, I seriously call my father Nana. You can go ahead and shoot me now...)

Starshy pranced around in her room with giddiness. Her first-class room was beautiful, with a small bed with several pillows and silk linens of a soft pinkish hue - the whole room had a white/pink theme to it. It was like the room had been decorated just for her. She smiled to herself, knowing that she would definitely have to thank Mrs. Cupcake again for arranging this.

She set her baggage down by her bed and then sat down on her bed which faced a window. She looked out, hoping that the train would get going soon. As she peered out at the train station, full of different ponies heading to different destinations, she wondered if maybe she'd meet a stallion during her vacation. The thought made her face turn a pinkish color like her bed sheets.

Well, maybe.. She thought hopefully.

Garnet put his bags under his seat, except for the bat, he kept it besides him. He had brought some winter clothes and other usual stuff for a winter vacation. He looked over the window, hoping that the train would departure soon. "I hope that we ain't stayin' here fo' a long time." he whispered to himself.

He then looked as people entered the car, he hoped at least a couple of people would go with him to the Resort, so that at least he didn't felt so alone.  He began to wonder how wonderful the vacations would be, he had worked very, very hard the whole Autumn, he really needed a vacation, a break, from his every day activities.

"Ma', ya' really put some effort in this vacation, thank ya'" he thought, his mom had been saving money throughout the whole year to buy his beloved son a first-class ticket, he had never been on first class before, maybe in tourist class or second class, but this was special, his mother had really cared about him. "Ma', i won't dissapoint you, i will enjoy dis' break and when i'm back, i'm gonna' break my flank working."

Mask walked through several cars on his way to his seat. His ticket had a spesific seat number on it, and when he got to his seat, he noticed that it was behind a large, pink private cabin. "I guess they make fourth class seats now." Mask muttered to himself. His seat wasn't just a seat, but a large cubical like section of the train with a bed, a desk, a nice sofa, and a shelf full of books. Mask regretted his decision to choose third-class, because the only thing here he planned to use was the sofa.

Snowdream sat in the corner of the huge blimp. By now, she shared the huge area with lots of different ponies. Snow distracted herself from her fear by wondering where each pony was heading to. I wonder if any are going to the mountain resort? She thought. Snow hadn't left home on good terms with her foster mother.

From the day Snowdream had turned 18 her mother had been trying to set her up with countless stallions. It's not that Snow didn't like the idea of love, but she wanted to meet someone, get to know them. Not have them thrust under her nose, being told that she would love 'this one!'

Snowdream stopped thinking about home and started thinking about the resort. I sure hope i make some friends there! And maybe... She blushed. She had always dreamt that one day she would meet stallion. Their eyes would meet and she would know that he was the one...

But being so shy, Snow feared that that would never happen. We'll just have to wait and see...

Night Song sat on the bunk bed, waiting for the train to go. She wondered if there was going to be any friendly ponies at the resort she was headed to. Perhaps to catch some attention, she would try to shoot straight with her bow and arrow. And perhaps they have some activities that involve singing! She hoped that she would find some friends and perhaps a special somepony! But Night Song quickly disregarded that thought, feeling herself turn red at the thought of it.

Kites streched and yawned. She started to trudge downstairs when she remembered what today was. She perked up immediately and galloped downstairs to get her trusty saddlebag. Once she had put on her saddle bag, she trotted quickly to the kitchen and made herself a quick batch of pancakes. Then she galloped back upstairs and packed her things. Once she was done she pulled out her list to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Kites was sure this note would have been a very convienient thing to have, if her handwriting wasn't so bucking awful. "Ugh, you know what? Buck it." She rolled her eyes and trotted from the house. She locked the door and tossed the key in a random direction. She would find it when she got back. She took off, the cold air blowing through her mane felt amazing. She felt rejuvenated. She looked around for a second before seeing the train station. She steered herself in that direction. Getting closer to the station she noticed it was pretty crowded. "Ugh buuuckk" She groaned. She hated being in close quarters with other ponies. She flew just above the crowd until she spotted her plane. She landed, gave the train pony her ticket and trotted inside. Since she had only gotten a fourth class ticket, she would be in a room with strangers sleeping in a bunk bed, she couldn't wait. Kites sighed and sat down on one of the top bunks. She lay on her back and looked at the celing. This was gonna be a long ride...

Garnet Sky started to get bored, so he started to make a few swings with his bat, in the hope of learning a good angle to strike at.

Suddenly, he batted a lightbulb out of the wall and sparkles came out. Everyone looked startled at Garnet. "Ehmmmm, sorry?".

He got up from his seat and cleaned the mess. He put the bat away and sat down.

Storm was really, really glad he had shelled out the money for first class. He had seen the bunk beds in the other cars and doubted there was so much as six inches of wing-room per person. His cabin, on the other hand, was fit for a king. Ok, maybe not a king, but definitely a lesser but still moderately important member of royalty. Regardless of who it was fit for, his room was REALLY nice. It was spacious, clean, and most of the items had a blue/grey color scheme, most prominently the bed nestled in the far corner of the cabin. Storm finished putting his things away, laid down on the bed (nothing compared to a nice cloud) and wondered two things; when the train would start its journey and who that cute mare he'd seen walk into the pink cabin was.

Kites was starting to get a bit claustrophobic, there were way to many people in here, it smelled funny, and she was already getting wing cramps even though the stupid train hadn't even started yet. Dear Celestia why didn't I get first class, she wondered to herself. On the way in she saw some huge rooms, bigger than two of the ones she was in now! She knew this was going to be a looonng train ride...

Mask was sitting in his cabin, waiting for the train to start. "Attention," an attendant said to the entire car, "The train will be departing in five minutes." Mask looked forward to the second class cabins, and was suddenly very glad he had payed for first-class. He noticed that the car was packed to the brim with ponies. For some reason, one brightly colored pegasus caught his eye.

...

"BOO!"

"AHH" screamed River and jetted impulsively , he immediately woke up completely, "What the BUCK was that about?" he asked infuriated. He saw his older sister above hovering above him, laughing. She had a scarf and some goggles on her.

"We have to get GOING River, come on" she said and stopped her giggling. River sighed.

"Fine Sarah... Just give me a minute to get my stuff" said River in an aggravated tone. He didn't really want to go, but since everyone was just dying to get him out of the house, he had no choice. 'stupid, friggin, winter resort my flank, everybody just hates me around here...' he thought, he had quite the sour face on him. River quickly grabbed his things and flew downstairs, still unhappy. He made it to the door where his sister Sarah was waiting. Sarah won't be with him at the resort, but their parents decided that it's "too dangerous and fungly" for River to travel alone.

"Ready numskull?" asked Sarah before they departed to the train station.

River sighed and replied "ready, now let's get there before we miss the train". Sarah nodded, he nodded back and they both took flight.

Not much happened on the way there, aside from a passing by pegasus who seemed really strong for her size.

They both arrived at the station, and right as they landed, a loud foghorn was sound.

"All aboard!" shouted the stallion near the train. Sarah and River went over to him quickly.

"Ticket please, ma'am" he said to Sarah, Sarah gave him her ticket, he punched a hole in it and gave it back to her.

"Here you go, now go find your seat" he said. Sarah went inside the train, leaving River for only a second. River walked up to the stallion.

"Ticket please, sir" he said, keeping format. River handed him his ticket. What should have happened was that River would go in right after Sarah, but instead-"uhh, sir?" said the stallion with the ticket at hoof.

"What, is something wrong?" asked River entirely nonchalant.

"This... This is a blimp ticket" he replied.

"WHAT?" shouted River with an exasperated look on his face, he snapped the ticket out of the other stallion's hand, and his ears dropped when he saw it up-close. The ticket had a blimp drawing on it, and it said 'Good for 2 trips, to and from, by blimp'

"Oh no no no no no, you gotta let me in the train, my sister's in there!" said River.

"Sorry sir, no ticket, no train" replied the stallion.

"BUT I HAVE A TICKET!" shouted River vocally, very loudly. Sarah heard it from inside the trailer, but did not respond.

"Calm, down sir, you can still get there through the blimp, it's right over there" pointed the stallion, "no need to be dramatic".

"But... But... GAHHoughawww...." uttered River unintelligibly. He sighed with his head to the ground, and started to fly towards the blimp in that posture. The blimp wasn't too far away, but it was a good minute of flight from the train. He got there, luckily before the blimp took off. When he was there he saw a mare waiting at the docking station. He flew over to her.

"Are you coming too?" asked the mare.

River sighed once more and replied, "Yes..." he gave the mare his ticket. She scanned it with her eyes and not a sound was heard for a few seconds.

"Okay, seems good, enjoy your flight sir" said the mare and handed River his ticket back.

He sighed and replied, "Thank you", his eyes were half-closed and his mouth was in a frown, as if he was bored by something or unimpressed. Finally, he went inside the blimp and quickly found a place to sit, some other ponies were around, and he felt like this is what he gets for being him.

Snowdream sat in the corner, examining everypony who walked in. She saw many ponies entering the huge blimp. Most of them were couples and families. A few groups of friends and only a couple of ponies like Snow, unaccompanied. A stallion entered. there was something about him that cought Snows eye. Sure, he was unaccompanied, that wasn't really unusual.

What is it about him...

He didn't really stand out from the crowd, his coat was green and his mane was a darker shade streaked with black. Again, not unusual.

hmm...

I've got it!

Snowdream mentally patted herself on the back. What was different with this pony is he wasn't smiling. He didn't look happy to be here.

Her observant gaze followed the stallion as he plodded over to his seat.

The thought of going over and introducing herself briefly crossed Snowdreams mind.

Nah, that'd be really wierd, or would it...

(OOC:@@Snowdream, THANK YOU ^w^)

As River was still mumbling unintelligibly, he noticed while looking around the blimp that he was one of only few ponies that are traveling alone. He suddenly stopped his thoughts and examined exactly how many were actually on the blimp with him.

'...3, 4, and with me that's 5, wow, I guess this is more of a family attraction than a love shack, oh well I guess' he thought to himself. But then, something caught his eye, a unicorn mare 2 rows in front of him and to the right was... looking his way? oh wait, but she just turned to look at a different direction.

'Was she... looking at me?' River thought, his face made a confused look. He wanted her to look at him again, he wanted to see her face again, her... color, again.

'Maybe if I keep staring long enough...' and so he stared at her, waiting to see what happens.

Snowdream's mind had drifted off to who knows where, and she was unconsiously staring at the stallion of her previous thoughts.

"Oh Celestia!" Snow gasped as she snapped out of her trance and saw the stallion look her in the eyes.

Congratulations Snowdream you've gone and made everything awkward by staring!

Embarrassed, Snowdream turned away blushing. In the corner of her eye she saw the stallion Watching her.

"I can do this!" muttered Snowdream, Standing up, intending to make a move and introduce herself, and apologise for staring.

All of a sudden the blimp swayed into life, lifting off the ground.

Snowdream panicked as the unexpected movment sent her tumbling off her hooves.

Even more embarrassed, now that most of the blimps occupants were staring at her, Snow covered her face, her mane falling over her eyes, and thought: How is this my life!?

'Well then mystery mare, you're quite the awkward one' thought River, as he saw the mare fall on her back, he kind of felt sorry though, she probably did not mean to fall.

'But then again, why did she stand up in the first place?' he thought, 'was she going to come over to me? did she think I was being rude? I hope not... I guess I could go talk to her, I mean worse case scenario I fall off too, and then we'll at least have a thing in common'.

River got up, tumbling slightly, and started to make his way towards the mystery mare, she was still on the floorboard interestingly enough. He came over and saw that she was covering her face, at first he wasn't sure what to say, but then he thought that he should help her get back up.

"Uh... hey" he said and waved a hoof in front of her, standing to her right, "are you okay?" he asked and made a concerned look.

"Ah... Hi?" Snowdream offered shyly.

What do I say? What do I do? Well, lying on the ground won't solve anything!

Snowdream blew her tangled blue mane off her face and rose shakily to her hooves.

"I..haha.. guess you saw all that... My name's Snowdream, but everyone calls me Snow." She giggled awkwardly, holding out her hoof.

Night Song was dozing off, but when the speaker-thingy came to life, she jumped and almost fell out of her bed. After she got back in, she got excited that the train was about to leave! She could barely wait for the train to depart, but to pass the time, she took out her brush and combed her long, blue and cyan mane
