She agreed to follow him out to the lobby and he led the way in front of her. He of course slowed down so she could catch up and walk alongside him, since she probably didn't want to talk to his large flank. He was happy the pegasus seemed to be enjoying his company, he didn't seem to be making her nervous or uncomfortable. He felt like he could be himself around her and she would accept him. She also seemed to understand the importance of his job and work which made him blush a little as she stated how important he was. "Thank you." He said simply. 

 

"So, do you have any questions you wanna ask?"

He chuckled thinking she was joking. "You know I do. You are very interesting to me." He figured now would be the best time to ask her as any. Usually cutie marks were touchy subjects to ponies so he was curious how she would react upon hearing the question. "So I was curious, just what is the story behind your mark? If you don't mind me asking." He said while tilting his head. "I've never seen one quite like it and I'm wondering what it signifies. Are you able to generate fire storms?"

Cracker saw Rocket getting ready and departed to tell Chocolate that they were ready.

He approached the bulky stallion from behind and patted his shoulder.

"Hiya mate, me and Rocket are ready to go on that trip to-" he suddenly stopped himself when he saw Iron Wing.

"Oh excuse ma'am, i didn't know ya' were here" he said backing away.

Chocolate was a very nice stallion and she enjoyed talking to him. His sedateness was very pleasant and she had a "save" feeling beeing near him. She was thinking about more topics to talk about, just in case that he wanted to listen to her more. Of course she also thought about if he had a marefriend already or not. But she didn´t dare to ask him now. Perhaps this wasn´t a topic he liked?

 

"So I was curious, just what is the story behind your mark? If you don't mind me asking." He said while tilting his head. "I've never seen one quite like it and I'm wondering what it signifies.

 

She stopped walking and looked to the ground. Of course a question like this had to come sooner or later and she knew that. Just talking about other topics probably wouldn´t have avoided that. It was easy to see that this wasn´t a subject she liked to talk about. "Well... um...." she started. It was hard for her just to think about this "thing". But Chocolate wanted to know about that, and she would give him a honest answer.

 

"Are you able to generate fire storms?"

 

Blazing sighed and looked into his eyes. "Y.. yes... i can do something like that...." she started while looking to the ground again. She took a deep breath and started to continue walking. With a dampened tone she turned to him. "I don´t like to speak about it but you seem to be a nice and honest one... so.... i can create a very hot and burning tornado. I did it only once in the past. It was more an accident. But because i couldn´t control it, it was very dangerous. I studied the composition of this event to learn about it and how to control something like that. But until now every try ends with a failure." she told him her little story about her cutie mark.

 

"On a past training day with my father i tried to safe him from falling rocks, creating a dense tornado in mid air. I made it too dense, and the air and the winds rubbed hard on each other, heating up into an uncontrollable blazing centre. The tornado catched fire and went of. It burned eveything on it´s way and left destruction behind. Perhaps i could use it for good things if i would have control about it..." she sighed. "On that day i got my cutie mark..." she finished her story.

 

"Oh excuse ma'am, i didn't know ya' were here" he said backing away.

 

She looked at the new pony she never had met before and quickly received self-control back. Blaze smiled warm and friendly at the new one. "No problem at all. Nice to meet you. You two know each other?" she pointed her hoove on Cracker and Chocolate.

"Oh..." Mask said apologetically. "Sorry about that..." The conversation had devolved into an awkward silence. Mask silently finished his sandwich, and spoke again. "You want to walk back to the lobby?" Mask said, wanting to stretch his legs. ((OOC: Sorry for not paying attention, but what's it like at the lobby right now? I get the feeling that it's be pretty chaotic during a blackout and a lock-in.))

Night Song finished her food and nodded her head "yes". She felt much better now, talking to this unicorn stallion. "So, why did you decide to go to this resort?" she asked quizzically. She was really starting to like this pony.

"I had the extra bits, and I wanted to get away from my job." Mask said candidly as he arose from his seat. He continued as he walked toward the door. "I'm still riding on a wave of Nightmare Night profit, and business was slow." The cold air, even after a walk in it before, surprised Mask as he opened the door. As they walked through the snow, Mask's eyes were diverted to the literal train wreck. Mask walked closer to Night Song, this time on purpose, to stay warmer. "A-any particular r-reason why you c-came?" Mask said, shivering. ((OOC: I assume that Night Song wouldn't have any reservations about walking outside, so I took initiative. Just let me know if that's annoying.))

"Wow" he said "I'm sorry you had to go through all that." He embraced her in another wing hug and kept it going when he noticed how cold she looked. "I'm also kind of glad though, because...well...it brought you to me." He blushed a little, giving her a nervous smile. The fact that she had been thinking about him made Storm ecstatic, but he felt bad that he had caused a rift between her and Chocolate. "I actually remember seeing you on the train. I wanted to talk to you but I was way to nervous. The giant stallion you were talking with was kinda scary too, hehe." Storm looked up and realized they were in the restaurant area of the resort. "So do you have a preference, or should we just pick one at random?"

Chocolate continued to trot alongside Blaze in his large strides. "chu..." He gave a small sneeze and covered his muzzle with his hoof, which was unintentionally cute of him. As big as he was he had the smallest sneeze, someone must have been talking about him. He kept a stoic expression on his face as she went on to tell him about her cutie mark and how she had obtained it. She started from the top, telling him everything she cold do including creating high density winds that would ignite in a destructive blaze. At first he seemed surprised that she would be so shy and secretive about a power many would deem amazing and cool. That was until she told him the rest of her story and how she had accidentally caused mass destruction with her abilities. 

 

He looked uneasy as she went on to tell him that she still had little control over her abilities and he spoke softly in his deep voice. "I see." He said unable to find the words to say to cheer her up but then decided the best way to console her was to speak from the heart and be genuine. "You mustn't blame yourself, some are just born with supernatural abilities. Only some have an easier time controlling them than others..." He said looking down to her with his golden gaze. "That just makes you all the more special to me." He said speaking honestly.

Chocolate nodded and looked over his shoulder to Cracker Jack and Rocket. "We all just met today. Blazing Storm, this is Cracker Jack and Rocket." He said introducing them. "These were the two I was talking about earlier. They agreed to help me look for another power source out in the blizzard." He explained. "With their help and yours I'm sure we will be able to find something out in that snowstorm." He said resolutely. As he opened the door that led outside he blinked as harsh winds blew in and he was the first to step outside in the snowstorm.

 

"Try to keep close together while you search. Remember it is dangerous out here and if you find yourself in an emergency just yell for someone " He said to the rest of the group as they all began to trek outside.

Starshy snuggled into his embrace, feeling comforted. She smiled at his comment, nodding her head in agreement. " Yes, that's true. The bright side of the whole story. "

 

She giggled at what he said next. " Chocolate is hardly intimidating. He's really just a big softie. I wish I could talk to him again at least. I want us to be friends... but then I saw him with another mare, and he's been so busy talking with her so I figured that'll have to wait. "

 

Starshy also realized where they were and titled her head. " I don't know.. how about that one? " She said, pointing to a returant that had a western theme to it.

Cracker Jack followed Chocolate into the blizzard, they were knee-deep in snow, it was going to be a difficult trek.

Cracker could see just a silhoutte of what seemed the maintenance shack in the distance.

"Hey, there must a generatah' on that room or a'least a battery to furtha' support the other generatah'!" he yelled, thw blizzard made talking almost impossible.

Everything was going fine 'til he stepped on a pit of snow, unbeknownst to him it was fairly deep and any bad move could do a fatal injury.

Cracker tried to push his hoof out of it but his way of doing resulted in breaking his hoof.

He didn't want to slow down his teammates, so he tried to not scream, with frozen tears of pain across his face.

He got his frozen and bleeding hoof out of the pit and tried to walk, he could but it was tremendously difficult.

Kites sighed and turned over in her bed. She just didn't feel right sitting here warm and safe in bed while Cracker and the others were out searching for a way to help the power situation. She opened her eyes, they now had a determined glint to them. She had decided. She stood up and trotted over to her saddlebag. She grabbed her hat, scarf, and first aid kit, just in case. She put on her hat and scarf then slung the first aid kit (which was like a small saddlebag) onto herself before rushing out of the room to hopefully catch up with them before they left the lobby. She dashed down the hallway and galloped down the stairs. She opened the door and trotted into the lobby. She looked around. Nopony was there. Kites sighed in dissapointment. Then her face lit up, she had an idea! She would go outside and follow the hoofprints in the snow!! She opened the door just to be blasted back into the lobby and tumbled across the floor by the wind. She mentally face hoofed. She had forgotted to use her wind resistance before opening the door. She stood up and tried again, this time successfully getting outside. She looked at the snow and... Score!! She saw slight hoofprints. She followed them for a while until she saw something red on the snow. She flew over to it, and to her horror, it apeared as if somepony had hurt themselves badly in a small pit. She was suddenly very glad she had brought her first aid kit. She clutched the kit to her chest and on, following a trail of blood now, until she caught up to somepony. Well, ran into somepony. She looked them over, her heart fluttered, it was Cracker! She flew so she was in front of his face and flying backwards. "Hey! Cracker! I have something really important to tell you! I think somepony is really hurt, there was lots of blood and-" She stoppedd talking mid sentence. She looked at his face, he was obviously in a huge amount of pain. Her eyes widened with concern. "Cracker?! Are you ok? Are you hurt? I brought a first aid kit! I can help you! What hurts?!" She started flying around him franticly.

Cracker couldn't take the pain anymore, but he wasn't going to let his fellow mates go alone in the snow, so he kept on walking, he was dying in pain inside. Suddenly, he ran into Kites...into KITES? "H-h-hiya K-k-Kites! W-w-w-what are ya' doin' h-h-here?" Cracker asked, he couldn't talk properly, not only his leg hurt like no tomorrow, but it was cold as buck. "N-N-NO! Fuget' the hoof! I-I-I Gotta help mah' fellow mates!". He then kissed her. "Th-that was incase i-i-i don't r-r-return." he said as he dragged himself past Kites.

Kites blushed like crazy. She suddenly forgot how to fly and fell into the deep snow. She just lay there for a second. Did-did he just kiss me?! She couldn't believe it. She shook her head, realizing she was freeing her tail off in the deep snow. She had to go fix Cracker, he WAS SO going to return, if she could get out of this stupid snow pile that is. She tried to stand up, then she realized where she had landed she had fallen into a pit similar to the one Cracker had broken his hoof. She tried not to panic, she tried to stretch her hoof to the bottom of the hole. She suddenly felt the snow shift beneath her. She cried out as she fell down about seven more feet. Thankfully it appeared as if she had landed in a brewery, the snow must have covered up the trap door and she had just accidently opened it with her hoof. Kites looked around to gather her situation. She looked up at where she had fallen from. She smiled in relief, there was a ladder! She started trotting over to the ladder when she heard a rumble. She stopped and looked up. All the snow that had been in the hole with her began to fall. Kites screamed and jumped back, narrowly avoiding burial. She looked back up at the trap door. Her heart sank, the ladder and the way out were blocked with a huge amount of snow, all the way up to the celing. Kites shivered. It was freezing down here. She sat down and started to think over her situation. She was in a small underground room, so it was doubtful anypony would hear her if she screamed. It was very cold down here, so she could quite possibly get frostbite, or more likely, hypothermia. She shuddered again. She wondered if Cracker had noticed her fall. She wondered if Cracker was still alive. She lay down on the floor. She wished she hadn't left the hotel. She wished she had left the difficult job to the ponies who could do it. She curled up in a ball.

Suddenly he fell down the hole and slammed into the floor, unfortunately on his broken leg, which was now almost split in half, one could see the bone. He screamed in pain and saw Kites, he tried to stand up and with the last ditch of strenght he had, he tossed Kites out of the hole, "Search for heeeeeeelp!" he screamed to her as she flew out of hole, hoping she would have heard him.

rocket felt the cold, but he didn't let it bother him, he knew that if this mission was a success, he would be a hero. he smiled at that thought and tripped in the snow, but immediately bounced back up. he looked and laughed at himself a little, then he turned to cracke, who looked like he was in pain. Rocket asked with deep concern, "Cracker jack, you alright?"

Kites had NO clue how Cracker had managed to fall through all seven feet of snow. But that didn't matter. She continued flying up until she realized she probably should fly lower, since she couldn't see the ground due to the snow. Luckily she had flown straight up, so all she had to do was fly straight back down. She landed next to the snow hole, which thankfully now had a clear veiw to the bottom of the hole now. She glanced down to see if she could see Cracker. She did. Her entire body filled with horror, terror, and sadness. Cracker lay at the bottom of the hole, splayed out like a discarded ragdoll. He was surrounded by a small pool of blood. Kites eyes filled with tears, which of course froze. She wiped the ice from her eyes and turned around. She looked for hoof prints desperately, she knew Cracker wouldn't last long without some sort of medical attention. She finally saw a blurry shadowy figure. She ran over to it. He soon came into veiw. Her face lit up with relief. It was Rocket! She hugged him and started sobbing. "Oh my d-dear Celestia th-thank you! I need your help p-please! C-Cracker he fell into a hole, his l-leg is br-broken, v-very b-badly!!" She wiped the ice-tears from her face. "S-Sorry, um, p-please, f-follow me!" She flew a few feet before stopping. "S-Sorry, I forgot most pegasi aren't able t-to f-fly in strong winds." She trotted back towards the hole, following her hoof-prints. She stopped in front of the hole and pointed. "J-Just look, y-you'll see what I m-mean."

Rocket looked down at the sight of his friend in pain, he immediately forgot about the cold, kites, and the generator, all he could focus on was his friend in trouble. he flew straight down into the hole and landed right next to cracker, where he pulled out his med-kit, began wrapping the injury up and pulled cracker onto his back. "hold on if you can, cracker!" rocket shouted, he flew to the top of the whole with all of his strength and put cracker jack down next to kites. "you need to get him back to the hotel, ill go on and try to get the generator." rocket said, knowing full well that this was almost a suicide mission.

rocket took the bat and put it in the bag, then he took off into the snow, after a while of looking, he found a garage. "if I was a generator, I would be there" he said with a smile, he could feel the wind chill, and it bit him like a tiger. he walked into the garage and liked around, he fund goggles, which he out on, some gas, which he put in the saddlebag, and in the corner, he found a generator. "thank celestia, there we go!" he said with a smile. he found a sled, put the generator on it, and began hauling it back to the main resort.

 

 the wind chill increased to the point where rocket could feel it on his entire body. he pushed it aside stubbornly, he had to make it back. the vapor in his breath was beginning to freeze. he picked up his pace as much as he can. (I have to make it.... I .....have...to......MAKE IT!!!) rocket thought to himself as he pulled the heavy equipment towards the lodge. he could feel his body numbing and slipping away, he pulled himself together and kept pulling. in his head he kept chanting to himself to keep him going. to fight the cold, he thought of other things. he could start to see the lodge. each pull became more and more difficult. (don't give up im almost there) he thought to himself. his vision started to blur as he pulled the generator, he knew he had to make it soon or he would pass out and be frozen. he saw the door, (K.....EEP....PULL.....ingggg) he continued to think to himself. he puched through the door and collapsed, he saw the ponies at the resort look at him. "I...... got..........it" he said right before he passed out from the cold and exhaustion.

Snowdream abandoned her meal as she heard a commotion in the lobby. She galloped into the room and saw somepony lying on the ground, presumably passed out.

 

Snowdream ran over to him.

 

She touched his hoof, it was freezing.

 

Snowdream levitated him and placed him on the couch closest to the warm fire.

Rocket felt the heat and started to wake up, where he saw the mare who put him on the couch near the fire "t....thank you" he muttered out, and, with all of his strength he had left after pulling the equipment, he gave the mare a kind hearted smile, "my... names....r....rocket b-blast"

She looked out the window and saw the blizzard was still raging on. Rocket was either very brave, or very stupid...

"Hi...snow dream" he muttered with all his might, "we....needed......generator...... Cracker.....injured.......with kites...... chocolate..... wheres chocolate" he mumbled out words, he was so exshausted he didn't know what he was saying. (way to make a first impression on a mare, dummy) he thought to himself. he asked "did.... cracker and kites.....make it back?"

"Crackers injured? With kites?" She gasped.

 

"I have to help them!" She decided. "Rocket you need to rest" she instructed, running towards the door. Bracing herself l, she opened the door. The wind hit her, but she stood strong. She galloped out and the wind slammed the door behind her.

 

She saw hoof prints and floowed them, thy were being covered by fresh snow fast. She followed them for a while.

 

She looked up and saw two figures stumbling through the weather.

 

"Kites! Cracker?!" She shouted at the figures.

 

Rushing over to them crackers hoof was bandaged but blood was leaking through it.

 

"Where's Chocolate? Are you okay?"
