"I'm okay ma'am, but Kites...she's feeling weak!" he said. He didn't know where he got so much strenght but he grabbed Kites and Snow and mounted them on his back, then he trotted back to the lobby.

The wound was getting wide open, the bone could be seen, it was broken, the bandage was left on the snow.

When he arrived to the lodge, he dropped the mares on floor, and with his last effort he yelled at Rocket "Rocket, ya' bastard, ya' better be sure that mah' bat is ok!" before passing out.

Slightly confused as to why she was carried back to the lodge, Snowdream stood up. She ran over to Rocket.

 

"Cracker and Kites are back, don't worry about them. Was there anyone with Chocolate? Or is he out there alone?" Snowdream asked

 

She hoped that Chocolate was okay, and if anyone was with him, that they were okay as well.

Kites had stopped thinking when she saw Rocket bring up Cracker. She turned to where she thought Rocket had landed, but to her dissapointment he had rushed off. Kites stood there in the snow shivering. She casually wondered to herself why she couldn't remember what she was doing. She looked down at Cracker, oh! Right, she was being in love, duh! She looked at him closer. He looks cold, why doesn't he have a scarf? She took off her scarf and layed it on his head. She giggled. "Th-That's n-not how y-you p-put on a s-scarf s-silly." She slurred.  Her tounge was starting to freeze. She giggled and lay next to him. She noticed Cracker talking. He said something about a resort. He pointed off towards a distant-looking light. "Oh, w-well ok! I g-guess w-we c-could g-go there." She helped him up and started to stumble towards the resort. She was giggling to herself and humming. She noticed somepony come out of the builing and trot towards them. She waved. "H-hiii!" She called out sounding dazey. Once the pony got closer she realized it was her friend SnowDream!" She grinned and was about to go over and tackle hug her, but Cracker picked the two of them up and brought them into the glowy place. Kites felt herself get put down. She stumbled towards the fire place. "I l-like the g-glowy place!" She cried out before falling over unconcious due to shock.

Cracker managed to wake up to sound of Kites voice, she made it! Along with Snowdream of course.

He tried to stand up, but his bone started to break open, even more, he let out a scream of pain.

He dragged himself next to Kites Breeze, and laid next to her, he kissed her cheek, she had done something crazy, just to save him.

He layed next to her, shaking her, in hope she would wake up.

"Hey, ma'am, come on! Don't die on me." he whispered.

Just as Snowdream asked about Chocolate, Kites stumbled in chattering about a 'glowey place' and collapsed in front of the fire.

 

Snowdream got up and walked over to her friend.

 

She sat next to the freezing mare trying to warm her. Chocolate, and anyone else, were just goin too have to make their own way back to the resort.

 

Snowdream dragged kites onto a couch and laid her down.

 

She stepped back and inspected the scene. Three ponies lay, exhausted and freezing. They had risked their lives to get the generator.

 

'I could at least try to stop the blizzard, what harm could it do?' She thought.

 

Snowdream stood up, a determined look in her eyes. For the second time she waked out into the blizzard.

 

The cold pinched. The wind stung. Snowdream ignored it.

 

Planting her hooves firmly, she started the spell. It was a simple enough spell, but never had she tried to tame weather of this scale.

 

Her horn started glowing and she squinted her eyes. Grunting with effort she built up her energy in her horn. The wind blowing her mane about like crazy.

 

She held her breath focusing on nothing but the spell.

 

Now!

 

She let out the powerful spell. A beam of blue shot up into the air. It dissapeared into the clouds.

 

Snowdream looked up, just in time to see the beam backfiring and heading straight for her!

 

Before she could react it hit her full force. The beam created a huge hole in the snow. At the bottom of the hole lay a burnt unconscious Snowdream...

Chocolate had gone way out into the snowstorm, the wind blew through his long black mane and he squinted looking for any signs of the generator. He and the rest of the group had split up and he worried if they were alright, after all he was the only one among them with experience in harsh conditions. He was also worried about Blaze, who had gone in another direction. Because of the loud howls of the wind he wasn't able to hear all the commotion and cries for help when the accidents occurred  He was however able to see a large beam of light shoot up into the sky, "...?" He watched cautiously as the beam parted the clouds and suddenly rained back down from whence it came. 

 

What on earth was that? He was about hoof deep in snow, and began a quick trot to where the beam had hit. He ran full speed and came to a stop at a smoldering crater. He peeked into it and saw a mare laying passed out in the hole. His eyes widened and without hesitation he slid down the hole and came to a stop as he stood over her. He gingerly touched her head with his massive hoof and felt she was still warm and breathing. Without a word he carefully lifted her and placed her over his large back and trudged out of the crater. Where did she even come from? She hadn't been a part of the volunteer group. He had to get her back to safety. "Blaze!" He called out to the snowy winds. If she was out there, he was certain she would be in the air or on the ground somewhere close. "I'm heading back to the lodge. If you can hear me, come back. We've got a mare down." He yelled in a reposed manner.

 

After a short trek he found the lodge and slowly pushed open the door and was surprised to see the rest of the group there and out cold. Rocket, Cracker, and even another mare. He looked distraught as he noticed they were all injured. Just what had happened? He trotted to the middle of the room and gently set Snowdream on the ground close to a fireplace to warm her. He stood looking over the room and looked guilty. Were they all hurt because he had suggested going out in the blizzard? To look for that generator? He looked down to the ground. "It's my fault... I should have never asked any of you to do this..." He said in a low tone to them even though they couldn't hear him. "It's my responsibility as an earth pony to handle things like this. Not you guys..." He looked to the door and remembered Blaze was still out there. "Please rest easy everyone, and leave the rest to me. I'll be back soon." He said to the unconscious group and left the lodge to look for Blazing Storm.

Cracker stood up, his leg hanging only by an inch of flesh and bone.

He hugged Chocolate, he was really terrified about that experience.

When he leaned back he couldn't help but falling on his flank to the floor.

"D-don't worry Chocolate, it was i that decided to follow you on your quest, so i'm fully responsible also." he said almost crying in pain. He didn't want his friend to feel bad about it.

Kites was dreaming. She was falling, her wings had frozen, she couldn't move them! She screamed and screamed. Suddenly her dad was next to her. Tears in her eyes she called to him, desperately, but he just grinned. "Uh oh...." he said sarcastically as he laughed and flew off. Kites' eyes grew determined, she would fly. She turned so she was falling back first. She could now see her wings. She screamed in pure terror, she had no wings, she had bloody stumps where wings had been. She felt a sickening crack and intense pain as she landed. Suddenly she wasn't in her body any more, she was looking at hers from above. It had landed next to Cracker's, and they were both splayed in the exact same position; like rejected rag dolls. A pool of blood spread out from the two dead ponies. I started to turn purple, then blue, then it crystalized into ice. Kites sat up hyperventilating. She looked around the room desperately. To her releif she saw Cracker and Rocket. But, where was Snowdream? She noticed some blue static electricity crackling outside. Kites stood up and stumbled weakly towards the door, she could tell that it was from a beam of magic, and if her hunch was correct, Snowdream had produced the beam. She walked out into the cold, instantly starting to shiver again. She felt her mind slipping already. She quickened her trot. She got to the hole in the snow and looked down. There appeared to be somepony or something in there. Kites flew down and landed next to the mysterious form. It was Snowdream. Kites touched her shoulder gently, it was freezing cold. Kites' eyes teared up. She gently lifted Snowdream onto her back and flew her up with her sudden adreneline (Speeled WRONG Dx) and began to carry her back to the building. Kites stumbled through the door and fell. She dragged Snowdream onto the couch. She was wasn't breathing. Kites' eyes teared up again. "B-Buck, Buck! BUCK! O-oh my C-Celestia, w-what am I gonna d-do?" Kites' got an idea. "M-Mouth to mouth m-maybe?" Kites looked at Snowdream awkwardly. "S-Sorry R-River." Kites pressed her lips to Snowdreams, blushing like crazy. She began to do mouth to mouth. Snowdream suddenly inhaled and coughed up some ice. "S-Snowdream! Are you ok? W-What h-happened?"

Rocket woke up after being unconscious for a while, his temperature had returned to a almost healthy level. he was entertaining some younger ponies. but he was thinking about other stuff, mainly about snowdream. sure he was almost dead when he talked to her (which worried him a lot) but he from what he remembered, she was really nice. (don't get to excited, rocket) he thought to himself (shes probably got someone) he sat around the fire. he saw chocolate feeling bad and went over to comfort him, "hey this isn't your fault, I went out there cause I didn't want you or cracker to end up like I almost did." then he went over to snow dream, put a blanket over her, and sat next to her to make sure the mare who saved his life would be ok.

Kites stood up shakily and stumbled over to where Chocolate Giant and Cracker were. Then she noticed Cracker's leg. Kites almost threw up. She sat down next to him and pushed him down so he was laying on his back. "Now, you have to STOP WALKING AROUND!" She said sternly. She began wrapping up his leg as best she could, then put a nearby large book on his chest, in the hopes of keeping him in the same place. She kissed him on the cheek before turning to where Chocolatey Giant had been, only to realize he had gone back out. Kites was impressed, was he immune to the cold or somehing? She shrugged and got to work on Snowdream. First she peeled off the overly attached colt-friend, then she carried her to the nearest couch, then she got out the burn cream from her first aid kit, and a few bandages. She got to work dressing Snowdream's wounds.

Rocket went over to help kite with snowdream, rocket barely knew this mare, but something in him wanted to make sure she would be alright. "hey kites," rocket started to ask, "s.... shes going to be ok, right? and do you need help with anything? im here to help wit-" rocket stumbled a little bit, but stood right back up "with anything" rocket finished.

Rocket Blushed at what kite had said, he decided to grab her another blanket, then he ran back to her and put the blanket over her. rocket then ran over and grabbed another blanket and went over to snowdream (I want to make sure shes ok) rocket said to himself (so ill just lay next to her on the floor) he laid down on the floor and started to drift off.

Cracker dragged himself to a couch, making sure the leg didn't make any contact with the floor. He grabbed a blanket and cover himself with it. He was now warm.

He slowly fade into sleep, it had been a long day and he almost lost his leg.

He fell asleep and started dreaming about Kites, her saviour. He had to thank her in any way.

Starshy snuggled into his embrace, feeling comforted. She smiled at his comment, nodding her head in agreement. " Yes, that's true. The bright side of the whole story. "

 

She giggled at what he said next. " Chocolate is hardly intimidating. He's really just a big softie. I wish I could talk to him again at least. I want us to be friends... but then I saw him with another mare, and he's been so busy talking with her so I figured that'll have to wait. "

 

Starshy also realized where they were and titled her head. " I don't know.. how about that one? " She said, pointing to a returant that had a western theme to it.

Storm's heart skipped a beat when Starshy snuggled into his embrace. "Even if he is a 'big softie', he still looks like he eats normal ponies for breakfast." He joked, referring to Chocolate "You should try to talk to him when we get back, clear the air and all that." A short while later, Starshy pointed out the western themed restaurant. "The Cowpony Corral" Storm read, "Home of the world famous buffalo hay fries." Storm's mouth watered at the thought of food. "I hope it's not busy."

 

The pair wandered inside ((once again, I assume you're going with)) the restaurant. The place had a rustic feel to it which was completely alien to Storm Front considering he'd spent most of his life in Cloudsdale. They found a table near the back, sat down, and waited to be served. "Did you notice the group that went searching for the emergency power?" Storm said "I hope they're all right...this might sound crazy but...maybe we should search for them. They've been gone a while."

Starshy shook her head. " I think perhaps you just need to actually talk with him. Then maybe he wouldn't seem to scary to you. "

 

They finally went into the resturant together and were seated. When Storm spoke of the other ponies that had gone to search for power and that they should look for them, a concerned expression appeared on her face. " Oh no.. What if Chocoolate is out in that storm? " She thought of that big stallion out in a blizzardy storm and possibly getting hurt. Then again maybe one of the other ponies had. It made her feel a bit wearily. " I guess we should.. " She said, saddened they couldn't stay and eat. She stood up and sat down beside Storm. She placed her hoof onto his. " But before we do, there's something I'd like to do.. in case something were to happen and I wouldn't have another chance. " Gathering up her courage, she learned forward and kissed Storm gently.

Rocket was nudged awake by a young colt offering him some hot chocolate the first thing rocket did was ask "did you get some to the others?" The colt shook his head rocket smiled and said "could you get some for my friends first, and then get one for yourself, come back here and I'll tell you some stories" the colt looked really excited and took of on his little mission, rocket looked at the couch to check on snowdream, making sure she was ok.

"RIVER!" another loud shouting, this time he was sure it was his name. He got out of bed, and went to the door, looking behind him for a second before going out.

"RIVER!" one more shout as he exited and was just closing the door. River noticed it came from downstairs. He realized it must be something serious since his name was shouted three times already, at full force of whoever was shouting. He dashed downstairs flying, and he saw a bunch of ponies in the lobby, most of them hurt in some way.

'What the BUCK happened to everypony?' he thought.

"Did someone call my name?" he asked loudly.

Blaze followed Chocolate into the snowstorm, trying to keep up with him. Because he was much larger and stronger than her, he was faster of course. After a short while, she lost sight of him. She looked back and made a depressed face. The others were gone too! The wind blew with unnatural strength and she could not see that far. The cold was immense and the fiery pegasus lost some dregrees of warmth in the time beeing outside. Blazing couldn´t see or hear anypony so she lifted herself into the air. She hoped to get a better screening of the landscape but even with her strong wings it was just hard to keep up with the wind.

 

 

"Blaze!"

 

 

"I'm .... back to the ... hear me, come ....  a mare down."

 

 

She heared Chocolates voice from a far distance but she could not locate the exact direction where it came from. Blaze inhaled some air to get her voice up but she swallowed some snowflakes by mistake and coughed. She couldn´t raise her voice to answer the call, so she tried to get back to the ground. But a wind gust got her wings and blew her away. She crashed into a big pile of snow and ice, hitting her head a bit. As she looked up she could see the resort in far distance before loosing sight again and it was no point in screaming. Her voice would never reach that far with this wind going. "Damn it!" she just said and tried to get back to the resort. Every couple of metres she walked in the snow she just sunk down and had to fight her way back up like a submarine tries to get to the water surface. It was cold and exhausting, but since she had eaten much and got a very high amount of energy, she decided to lift herself into the air once more.

 

"You won´t get me down!" she just said aloud and flapped her wings as hard as she could, building up speed. Because she didn´t see much, she couldn´t fly straight to the resort. But since it was in the direction she was flying to, it had to be there somewhere. She speeded up more with no sight at all and crash landet again. This time it was not a pillow of snow, it was a solid door which she broke on the impact. She hadn´t hurt herself too much and looked around. Still a bit dizzy. Blaze could see that she was in a little building somewhat next to the resort. Was that... an emergency generator? She squeeked with joy as she got aware of her luck. But it looked kind of... frozen. "What the buck? Damn yooouuuuu!" she screamed into the cold air. Her wild mane and tail already got kind of frozen too and she looked like more like an ice-mare. With that cold going on, she wouldn´t last too long...

"Unconscious? Oh *SQUEE* dude" said River, "where?" he asked. The other stallion pointed at Snowdream. River followed in the direction he was pointed to. He saw Snowdream lying down, unconscious as he was told. River was in shock.

"S-Snowdream?" he uttered, "wha-what happened to you?" he asked nearly tearing at the sight of his newly proclaimed girlfriend knocked-out. There was no reply. River's face suddenly struck with anger, he dashed to the stallion from earlier.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?" he shouted fighting his tears, grabbing the stallion with his hoof.

"I just said I don't know!"rocket replied "she helped me onto the couch, and I passed out. Once I woke up she was out on the couch, I've been making sure she was ok. Then she said your name so I went to find you. I'm sorry I can't give you more info, but this is seriously all I know!" Rocket was fighting back tears, he could see the ponies pain, and he felt awful.

River snapped. He let go of the stallion and sat down. He tried to hold back, but the second he glanced at Snowdream, he burst into tears. He hid his face, sobbing, not knowing how all of this happened, or how to react, all this pain and all these ponies with broken legs and flesh-wounds and all terrified from the cold. All of that, and he was just sitting in his room, doing nothing, while the ponies got hurt. Could he have stopped this? No, albeit he could have been there earlier. But he didn't, and this is what happened.

"What do we do now?" he asked the stallion he nearly punched a minute ago.
