When Blazing Storm warned him about her large appetite he sweated a little. In his mind he imagined her going into a feeding frenzy and literally attacking the plates as they were set before her. But he quickly erased that image from his head, she seemed well mannered enough to have decent table manners. He shook his head when she thought he might not want to eat with her, he knew all too well what it was like to be stared at for something out of his control. "I don't mind eating with you." He said with a small smile.

 

She then went on to explain about Pegasus ponies to him while they waited for their server to come and get their order. He listened close and nodded as she spoke, he seemed very interested in both her and her story. He was surprised to learn that Pegasus were able to control their own weight, more or less. By the time he realized the time, their server had already come and asked for their orders. She ordered more food than he had expected, even the waiter seemed surprised. "...I'll just have some hay please." He said with a humble nod. As the waiter went off she continued to explain what it was like to fly to him.

 

It sounded wonderful, it was probably a experience like no other and he was certain he'd never get to try it. He had heard of some very powerful unicorns who had been able to grant temporary wings to ponies, but he was certain if he had obtained a pair he wouldn't be able to lift his own large and heavy body from the ground with them. But then she mentioned a mind reception spell which got him curious. 

 

She then turned to Chocolate again. "Well if you want to know how it would feel, just ask a unicorn pony to cast a mind reception spell on you and me. Than you would feel everything i would feel, and see everything i can see. Than i will get your senses into the air with a nice flight around the resort." 

 

"That sounds like a fun idea, Blaze." He said as the server came back with their food and set it on the table before them. He watched as numerous plates were put in front of her and he smiled wearily to her, hoping she didn't feel uncomfortable eating close to him. "Oh, by the way..." He said after his first few bites of hay. "Will you help us later on outside? We could use an extra pair of wings and eyes in the sky to help." He said with a friendly smile.

The two ponies came over to Sarah.

"Hey Sarah! Are you okay after all that darkness shenanigans?" greeted River.

"Uh, yeah, I searched for you for a little bit but I found this blue dude that sort-of caught me in conversation... Sorry about that" said Sarah and shrugged, "and you must be Snowdream, right?" asked Sarah and looked at Snowdream.

 

 

(OOC: I don't really want to make another new OC as for River's sister, so just imagine Sarah as an aqua-marine blue pegasus mare with a yellow mane and a pirate flag for a cutie mark, if that helps )

 

"Yeah... I'm Snowdream" she confirmed

 

'Hmm she's acting polite enough, I mean I was getting up close and personal with her colt friend, maybe it's just an act when we are around River...'

 

"So...Sarah, how do you know River?" She asked trying to only seem vaguely interested. She was all ears...

"Yeah... I'm Snowdream" she confirmed

 

'Hmm she's acting polite enough, I mean I was getting up close and personal with her colt friend, maybe it's just an act when we are around River...'

 

"So...Sarah, how do you know River?" She asked trying to only seem vaguely interested. She was all ears...

"I've been living with him for his entire life, he is my brother after-all" replied Sarah and nudged River's shoulder. "Oww" river mumbled.

"So are you two like, a couple now?" asked Sarah. River's ears immediately rose up. A big red blush covered his face.

​"Uh... it's.... undetermined at this time" he said and rubbed the back of his neck with his hoof. He looked at Snowdream after making that statement.

"I'm gonna go now, see you girls later" said River and took off, leaving Snowdream and Sarah by themselves.

"So... you're after my brother aren't ya'?" asked Sarah and nudged Snowdream while raising her eyebrows repeatedly.

"I've been living with him for his entire life, he is my brother after-all" replied Sarah and nudged River's shoulder. "Oww" river mumbled.

"So are you two like, a couple now?" asked Sarah. River's ears immediately rose up. A big red blush covered his face.

​"Uh... it's.... undetermined at this time" he said and rubbed the back of his neck with his hoof. He looked at Snowdream after making that statement.

"I'm gonna go now, see you girls later" said River and took off, leaving Snowdream and Sarah by themselves.

"So... you're after my brother aren't ya'?" asked Sarah and nudged Snowdream while raising her eyebrows repeatedly.

Once River had left, Snow burst out laughing!

 

"Oh Celestia! Can you believe that all this time, I thought you were his mare friend!" Snowdream laughed rolling on the floor clutching her tummy as she laughed.

 

After a few minutes she calmed down.

 

"Yep. It's confirmed! I have been spending to much time with colts! I'm even starting to think like them and rush to conclusions! Well, yeah I am after your brother, felt weird saying that, but I wish he would make a move, because, I don't know if he likes me as a friend only or...or more.." She sighed.

"Why wouldn't you want to go back to Manehatten!?" Mask asked incredulously. "I would do anything to live there, I just don't think I could find work." He said, sounding a bit deflated. "What happened to make you want to leave?" Mask took a few bites out of his sandwich.

"My mother..." Night Song began her story. "She was a caring pony, but she didn't value other ponies' privacy. And her sense of humor was pretty cruel." She began to feel dread shivering in her forelegs as she continued talking and drawing back that very distant memory. "She never really understood my independence or my father's need for privacy. So, me and my father moved away," she said, finishing the story.

Once River had left, Snow burst out laughing!

 

"Oh Celestia! Can you believe that all this time, I thought you were his mare friend!" Snowdream laughed rolling on the floor clutching her tummy as she laughed.

Snowdream blushed and realized that Sarah was right. She waved goodbye to the mare and walked to the staircase. Snowdream didn't have anything against elevators, but she didn't know how long the power would stay on, so taking the stairs was her safest option.

 

Before she knew it she was staring at her own door. About to barge in Snowdream thought it would be more polite to knock. So she did.

Storm could tell something was wrong with Starshy but he wasn't quite sure what to do about it. He had never been good with words, so instead he translated his feelings into a reassuring squeeze of his wing and a gentle smile. Maybe I'll ask about it later he thought, but right now I need to find us some food. "Yeah, room service doesn't seem like an option considering there's no one around to do the serving." Storm said "We could get some food from one of the nearby restaurants, though. Unless you want to stay here and rest." Storm didn't want to make the mare walk around in the cold if she didn't want to.

Starshy smiled at him, appreciating the fact he was trying to make her feel better. " I have to apologize, Storm. I haven't been myself much today, I'm just mentally exhausted. I'll tell you everything when we get to the restaurant, I promise. " She wasn't going to keep anything from him, it wouldn't be a good way to start their relationship if it were to happen.

River heard the knocks on the door, and got up from the bed. He walked over to the door. Opening the door, he saw Snowdream. Panicking he shut the door, slamming it in her face.

'****' went through River's mind. He opened the door again, and he saw Snowdream was bleeding, he may have slammed the door too hard.

"Holy crap, I'm so sorry Snowdream, come inside I'll get you some ice from the mini-fridge" he said while already going for the mini-fridge. He grabbed some ice and some bandages that were conveniently next to the bed. He came over to Snowdream, looking more  worried than he ever was.

"Here" he said while applying the bandage to her muzzle. He finished wrapping it around her and gave her the ice.

"Is that better?" he asked, still looking concerned.

River heard the knocks on the door, and got up from the bed. He walked over to the door. Opening the door, he saw Snowdream. Panicking he shut the door, slamming it in her face.

Snowdream felt his soft lips connect to hers. He broke off after a moment and said she was a great kisser. Snowdream blushed but said nothing he wished her goodnight and shut off the lights.

 

Snowdream didn't feel tired. And she didn't feel like lying still. After a few more minutes she got off the bed and quietly walked across the room . Grabbing her key she left the slumberin stallion to himself.

 

Quietly closing the door she walked along the long corridor. Her stomach growled loudly and she realized that she hasn't eaten anything since the blimp ride, and how hungry she was. She trotted towards the elevator, deciding the likely hood of the power going down while she was in there was very low. She pressed the 'down button' and waited for the elevator.

 

Se heard the loud 'ding' and the elevators doors opened. Snowdream walked inside and pressed the 'lobby' button. The doors closed and the elevator started going down.

 

((OOC: bored so I make using an elevator take up as much space as possible. XD))

 

The elevator doors opened at the bottom and Snowdream exited. She made her way over to some chaires and sat down and looked at the menu.

"Ok" Storm said, giving her another comforting smile. Storm was glad that Starshy was going to tell him what was going on. It was a lot easier (and less stressful) than asking a bunch of questions and hoping for answers. He counted himself very lucky to have found a mare like her and hoped their relationship could grow. They began to walk out of the lobby ((I assume she's going to)) and walked through the gently falling snow. "I just realized something" said Storm "Here I am walking with a beautiful mare and I know almost nothing about her. So tell me," he gave her a playful smile "who is the wonderful Starshy?"

Starshy followed beside him, also watching the snow fall. She shivered slightly, and blushed from Storm's question. "Well...back in Ponyville I help out at Sugarcube Corner. Mrs. Cupcake is always so busy so she often needs extra hoofs to help out with all the baking." She said. "I lived in Canterlot most of my life. My father is in the Royal Guard and my Mother is an assistant to the Princess. I moved to Ponyville when I got a bit older to live a more normal life.....and something else that happened to that made me leave." She continued, somehow feeling strangely comfortable telling him this. She never told anyone of her true reason for leaving Canterlot. She had a sad smile on her face but turned to glance at Storm. "What about you?"

"My life's not quite as interesting" he said "I was born and raised in Cloudsdale. My dad was a manager at the Cloud Factory and my mom stayed at home to take care of me. Everything went fine until I entered flight school. My dad had...expectations that I couldn't quite reach. I left home on bad terms and haven't really talked to him since." Storm let out a sigh, it was an old wound but it still hurt a little. "I was recently promoted to weather patrol in Ponyville" his mood improved dramatically at what he was about to say, "which means we'll be able to see each other even after this vacation ends!" He tried to hold in his next question but curiosity overwhelmed him. "So...uhm, why did you leave Canterlot, if you don't my mind me asking of course." Stormed shifted nervously, afraid he might have offended her.

She got big eyes as the food arrived. "Bon appetite!" she said to Chocolate and started to enjoy her meal. She could have gobbled most of the things within a short time, but she prefered to eat her favourite meal with a normal speed. Also she didn´t want to make a wrong impression on Chocolate, so she enjoyed the time eating together with him. While eating she continued to tell him more about pegasus ponies because he seemed interested. "Because pegasi are hyperactive most of the time they run out of energy very quick. If you see a pegasus pony sleep in the middle of the day on a cloud doesn´t mean that this pony is lazy. The reason is to fill up the needed energy. Of course a pegasus can be very strong and persistent, but we have not such a huge endurance like earth ponies. We use up our strength very fast. Of course there are exeptions..." she explained while starting the second baked potatoe. It was just too delicious with the sour cream.

 

"That sounds like a fun idea, Blaze."

 

She smiled at him. "I hope that you like it if we get the chance to do so. But of course we have to find a unicorn with the knowlege of the spell." she continued while finishing the third potatoe. She didn´t haste with her food but there were a lot of things to do and she wanted to fill up her energy reserves.

 

"Oh, by the way..." He said after his first few bites of hay. "Will you help us later on outside? We could use an extra pair of wings and eyes in the sky to help." He said with a friendly smile.

 

"Help outside? Of course, you can count me in! I am not weak, i can help on the ground too if needed!" Blaze acceded. She was just happy that he didn´t ask about her cutie mark and she was a bit scared if he would ask about it. She finished her the stuffed peppers after a while and slowly got the feeling of beeing full. With the salad she ended her meal and cleaned her snout with a serviette. "Hah! Now i feel strong enough to move mountains! Of course i cannot do such a cool thing for real, but i think i´m powered up now." Blazing Storm said to Chocolate with a grin on her face. She noticed that he wasn´t the big speaker, most of the time she was telling everything. "Where do you work and live exactly? And do you like music?" she asked him. She wanted to know more about the big stallion.

She shook her head. " No, no it's alright. I use to really like this one stallion back in Canterlot. He... was so charming and sweet. We use to talk off and on sometimes. We both had fathers that were in the Royal Guard, so we could relate to missing our dads. " Starshy sighed heavily, letting this memory come back to her. She glanced up at the cloudy sky. " I really fell hard for him, but it really just a crush. And it was crushing too, when I finally had the courage to tell him my feelings and he rejected me. He was after some other mare.. "

 

Starshy paused for a moment and made herself to keep going, " So, that was completely a crushing blow. I know it's probably not the best reason for going away, but I didn't want to be living in the same place seeing him with someone else. "

 

She looked at Storm, and then away again. " So, fast forward to this trip, and I met Chocolate while on the train. He was also nice stallion. Much more genuine.. " She continued on to tell him everything up to this point. The exploring they had planned to go, how she had lost her saddle bag, and the awkward almost dinner.  " I had been thinking about you, Storm.. and I was thinking that Chocolate was starting to like me more but he sensed my distress and left. Apparently we weren't on the same wave length. It was just a big misunderstanding. "

"Oh..." Mask said apologetically. "Sorry about that..." The conversation had devolved into an awkward silence. Mask silently finished his sandwich, and spoke again. "You want to walk back to the lobby?" Mask said, wanting to stretch his legs. ((OOC: Sorry for not paying attention, but what's it like at the lobby right now? I get the feeling that it's be pretty chaotic during a blackout and a lock-in.))

Chocolate continued to eat in silence while the fiery pegasus went on to explain more about herself and other pegasi. He wished he had a notebook to write down notes since she was covering many points, one after another. It was all so fascinating to him that he soon found himself completely immersed in her words and completely ignoring his meal. Even though she was speaking she still found time in between sentences to eat all of her food. It was an impressive sight, if but a little daunting. He looked down to his own plate, he had barely touched his own food.
 
He had heard about how lazy yet energetic pegasus ponies were sometimes and now it all made sense. Apparently they were all bundles of energy that needed to rest and eat to keep their strength up. It was unlike earth ponies who were naturally built tougher and stronger than their unicorn and pegasus counterparts. In fact, he seemed to be the only earth pony present at the resort and it was making him a bit more self aware. As she finished her plate she seemed happy to help him and the others work outside.
 

"Help outside? Of course, you can count me in! I am not weak, i can help on the ground too if needed!" Blaze acceded. 
 

 He looked her over again, he would have to agree she definitely looked stronger than the mares he had seen around the resort. And even better, she seemed like a good strong reliable mare which he appreciated. "Great, we should probably head out then." He said smiling back to her. He picked up the bill and placed the bits on the table as they left together. He noticed her cutie mark and wondered what it could have been again. It was such a unique one. While they made their way back to the lobby she asked him a few questions before he had the chance to ask her about her mark.
 

 "Where do you work and live exactly? And do you like music?" she asked him. 

The large brown stallion's ears perked when she asked more about him. "Well..." He said thinking over his answer. "I live on the outskirts of Ponyville, I just moved there a few months ago. I'm a work horse, I do heavy lifting, ploughing, and other types of farm work. I also coal mine when the seasons change. It's a very dangerous job but many cities count on us to bring coal and other minerals out to heat their houses during the winter." He said as his ears fell flat on his head remembering an incident that had happened but a month ago. "As for music I like, I can't say I've listened to much but I like just about everything I've listened to so far. Heh, I must sound like such a bore to you... only able to talk about work." He said with a small embarrassed laugh. He really wanted to impress her with what he did but he couldn't lie to her either.

I never had the strength to to something like that, i am just fast. Also i think farm work is very important, after all the farmers secure the food supply in Ponyville. Without food ressources we would all starve, so it is a very important work you do!" Blaze said to him. She was looking at all sorts of work from many viewpoints.

 

"As for music I like, I can't say I've listened to much but I like just about everything I've listened to so far. Heh, I must sound like such a bore to you... only able to talk about work."

 

"Why would you sound boring? I think it is interesting and i think that it will be fun to show you much of the things i like. And to talk about work shows that you think that your work is important too, or at least, you like your work." she said smiling to him. "So, do you have any questions you wanna ask?"

The door was shut by Snowdream.

'She... left? Why did she leave?' River thought. He moved the blanket that was covering him away, quitting his fake-sleep mode. He sat on the side of the bed and looked at the floor. 

'Should I go after her? No she can do what she wants, and it's barely even late, she probably went down to talk to some others' he thought. Knowing that she's only his girlfriend and not his daughter, he figured he'll just stay in her room.

After studying the menu for several minutes Snowdream decided on a simple daisy sandwich.

 

The waiter came and collected her menu and informed her that her meal was on its way.
