private Winter Resort Romance and Slice of Life

"Ya' got style mate!" he yelled at Storm Front as he exited the train. He saw a lot of ponies in the lodge. The view was amazing, and so was the place.

He approached the reception and waited behind the looooong queue. "Oh, well. Atleast i reserved ma' room" he whispered. "I just have to log in."

Rocket heard the pony say about the reserving in the room. he smiled and said "well some pony was smart" he hadn't realized how loud he had said that, was pretty positive that the other pony had heard him and looked embarrassed,

"great, now people are going to think i'm creeping on there conversations" rocket blast thought to himself.

Rocket heard the pony say about the reserving in the room. he smiled and said "well some pony was smart" he hadn't realized how loud he had said that, was pretty positive that the other pony had heard him and looked embarrassed,

Garnet Sky laughed to himself. "No need to worries mate. Mah name is Garnet Sky, but they also call me Cracker Jack. This queue is definetly one of the longest i have ever seen. Good thing the only thing i've gotta' do this is confirm mah prescence."

Garnet then looked around as if someone was looking at him.

Garnet then looked around as if someone was looking at him.

Rocket gave a sigh of relief and said in response, "my names Rocket blast, but some also call me rocky" he noticed that garnet was looking around. rocket looked puzzled and asked, "is everything alright Garnet? you look a little... on edge." rocket was trying not to put his snout in other ponies business, but he wanted to make sure this pony was ok.

He seemed reluctant to let her pay for his drink even if it was a nice gesture he would have to pay her back later. He took a seat, more or less across from her and noticed she had began to look out the window. He was about to speak but she got word in first, asking him if he was headed for the resort. He nodded and motioned to the large saddlebag on his back. "I was instructed to bring a few supplies to some ponies up in the mountains. It's normally not what I do, I'm a manual labor work horse." He said realizing he had rambled a little.

 

He gently sipped the heated drink then gave a weary smile to her. "Are you headed there yourself?" He asked the pretty unicorn. "I am also curious... what kind of magic can cast? And what do you do for work?"

Starshy seemed a bit sad at his respond. " So.. you aren't going up to have a good time? This is just work related? " She asked.

 

She picked up her hot chocolate with her magic, bring it toward her and taking a sip. She placed it back on the table, nodding at his question. " Yes. " This next question made her smile. " Well, just simple magic. The sort that just helps with everyday things. I'm still practicing my magic from time to time so that it can get better. I work at the Sugarcube Corner in Ponyville. I like helping Mrs. Cupcake, with whatever she needs. The poor women is always rushing around in that place so having someone extra has helped her a bit, I think. That's why I'm here - this trip was a thank you gift from her." She knew that she rambling a little, hoping the tall stallion wouldn't mind it.

Kites sighed as the stallion ignored her and got off the train. She told herself not to let it bother her. She stood up and headed to the check in lobby, getting in line to check in. She was glad she had reserved a room, seeing the huge line she knew some people would be getting dissapointed. She watched the other ponies with their friends, and she felt a little upset, although she tried not to let it show.

Garnet Sky finished signing up and went to his room. "205" he thought "That's a nice numbah!". As he walked up he saw a mare who was alone. "I'll talk to her later. I'm very tired of carrying these heavy baggage". He arrived his number and left the baggage.

He grabbed his bat and went downstairs, and he approached Kites Breeze.

"Hiya girl, ya' look lonely! What's da' matter?" he asked smiling, he wantd her to feel better.

Kites looked at the stallion who had aproached her. "Um, I'm ok, just my friend couldn't come with me on the resort so I have to wait in this stupid line with nopony to talk to." Kites shrugged and pretended it didn't bother her. "Anyway, my name is Kites, whats your name?" She asked the stallion curiously.

"Ah, where are my manners? Mah name's Garnet Sky, but you can also call me Cracker Jack." he said while looking at the size of the queue. "Umm, why don't you go to that little queue over there? They have both sign ups and logins. It seems fairly small. As for you, are ya' here for a vacation?"

Anyway yeah, I'm here on vacation, I assume that you're here for a vacation to?" She trotted over to the other, shorter line. She got in line and waited for Cracker to follow.

Cracker and a new pony rocket had never me. "hey Cracker" he looked over at the other pony with a war smile "whos this?" he reached out a hoof and said with a smile, "im rocket blast, but others call me rocky"

"hope im not being over friendly" he thought to himself

Garnet followed Kites to the other line when he heard someone calling him. "Hi there rocket, this is Kites Breeze, may i call ya' Kites? Sounds like a cool name." he said smiling.

"After this, what if we go and do something? Maybe go outside for a walk or something."

Kites smiled at the new stallion. "Hi, I'm Kites, are you a friend of Cracker?" She asked the new stallion curiously. Well this has gone better then expected, right as I get lonely I make friends with two cute stallions she thought to herself. She giggled to herself quietly. She turned to Cracker "Yeah! A walk sounds great, it's a bit stuffy in here." She got to the front of the line and grabbed her key. "I'm just going to go put up my stuff really quick!" She said trotting over to the elevator and pushing the button.

Garnet followed Kites to the other line when he heard someone calling him. "Hi there rocket, this is Kites Breeze, may i call ya' Kites? Sounds like a cool name." he said smiling.

"After this, what if we go and do something? Maybe go outside for a walk or something."

Rocket smiled, "nice to meet ya kites" not wanting to be a third wheel on Cracker jack and kite's night he politely said "well it was nice to meet you two, come find me sometime, we can all hang out" he turned to the counter, checked in, and went towards his room

" 'kay, see ya' Rocket." He then walked through the crowd (which was now largely small since half the crowd was actually departing from the lodge) and sat on a chair outside. 

He then came out with an idea to not to get bored (as he usually does, he gets bored very easily if he is not working), he grabbed snowballs and started to bat them, he batted them so strong that they either flew away while tearing themselves appart or they just dissapeared in their spot.

"A good time?" The stallion asked seeming shocked at the very idea of slacking off on a business trip."I'm afraid not. I still have much work to do once I go back home..." He could see the look of disappointment on her face as he said this and seemed to pause. He listened closely to her while she told him about her abilities and her job back at Ponyville. His golden eyes fell on her horn as she levitated the drink before her. He was in awe at the display, having only grown up around earth ponies meant magic was all new to him. 

 

"I suppose... if you wanted some company I could... s-stay for a day or two." He managed to utter literally fighting every one of his worker instincts. He blinked when he noticed the cabin was practically empty and almost everypony had left. He stood up and motioned for her to follow him out, "It seems we have arrived at the Resort." He stated walking out of the cabin with his bags hoisted over his back. He would walk with Starshy until they were up to the resort, he noticed a red pegasus in the cafe watching everyone. He stood by Starshy and bowed his head. "So how long are you here for? Maybe we can meet each other after we check into our rooms?" He asked.

Starshy stood up as well, realizing that the train had stopped and they had arrived at the resort. She sighed, following Chocolate. "No, it's alright. If you need to get some work done I won't stand in your way. It sounds important. " She smiled a little at him. "I'll be here a  few days. Maybe I'll see you around working somewhere. " She said, going to wait in line to check into her room.

"Thanks, Mask," Night Song said. She used one of her wings to cool the drink a little before drinking it, as she is just growing out of a bad habit of immediately eating something, even if it's hot. She took a sip and blinked at the creamy texture and the warm temperature she had lowered it down to. "Wow," she said after swallowing it. "It's actually pretty good! How's your's?" she asked.

"Hmm... It could be better. It's still pretty good though. Hey, by the way, how does a pegasus shoot a bow? Do you use your wings or what?" Mask asked, perplexed. He tried dipping his cheesecake in the hot chocolate, and frowned a little bit when he tasted it. This was evidently a bad idea.

Storm walked into the lodge, marveling at its beauty. Looking around, he spotted two lines for room check in. The pegasus trotted over to the shorter one and did the only thing he could: wait patiently. Looking around, he noticed that many of the ponies around him had begun pairing up. Oh Celestia, I'm going to spend this entire vacation as an awkard third wheel. A cold pit of fear rested in his stomach but he quickly suppressed it. You've got the entire vacation. Well, technically you've got the rest of your life. That's beside the point though, because you're totally going to find an amazing mare and win her over with....uhm...your awkwardness! Yeah, this is definitely going to work! "Hello, sir...?" a voice said, a note of irritation in it's voice "Are you here to check in...?" Storm snapped out of his daydream with a start. "Oh, uh, yeah. I have a reservation." he said, his face taking on a red hue. After checking in, Storm decided he should put his luggage in his room and made his way towards the elevator.

The brown stallion nodded and turned to head to his destination where he had been told to deliver the supplies. A few steps off he could feel his heartbeat, something wasn't right. Something felt off to him. He looked over his shoulder to Starshy as she stood in line then appeared troubled. Maybe just this once he could put work aside. Besides with as many ponies as there were at the Resort the chance of running into her again were slim, and she was one of the rare few that seemed comfortable talking to him. "Wait." He said as he stood in line with her. "I just remembered I did have a few extra days, maybe I can stay for a few days as well. I would love to have someone to talk to while I'm here."

"There are magnetic spots on my bow and arrows. They repel from each other, but I have a pair of shoes that has a magnetic bottom that's attracted to my bow and arrows. As I pull the arrow back, my hoof kind of slowly slips until I draw it back all the way. That's when the arrow is finally fired,' Night Song said, answering Mask's question. 

 

(OOC: Basically, her shoes and the magnetic spots allow her to shoot arrows like a human. She has to be hovering though.)

Starshy blinked in surprised when he came over to speak with her again. " Are you sure? " She asked, tilting her head. She felt glad that he had decided to come back, and hopefully not out pity. She turned her attention to the receptionist who was trying to get her attention. She spoke to them for a moment and received her room key. She then stepped out of the line, waiting for him to allow.

"It's okay" said River, he noticed Snowdream was blushing a little, he figured she was a bit embarrassed from bumping into him, but he kept acting cool, not really acknowledging her blush. She looked really cute though, when she was blushing, River thought she was really cute overall.

They made it to the reception through the crowd, it was a window with a small indent at the bottom for passing objects, behind the window was a bored looking mare playing with a rubber ball on the counter next to her, she was looking away from River and Snowdream.

"Um, excuse me?" said River to catch the receptionist's attention. The receptionist turned around to them.

"Yes, how can I help you?" she asked.

"We want to check in for our resort" answered River.

"Okay then, names?" said the receptionist.

"I'm River Bank" he pointed at himself, "and this is Snowdream" he pointed at Snowdream. The receptionist turned to her right to look at a list that was on the wall, she scrolled down with her hoof through the list.

"R...r..r..R! River... Bank, and Snowdream is right below it, okay, let me just mark you two as arrived" the receptionist took a pen and made an X next to both their names.

"Alright, and here...is...a..." the receptionist rumbled through something below her counter, she took out a map a second later, "a map, with all the attractions around the resort listed on it", the receptionist handed the map to River and Snowdream through the small indent below the window.

"Enjoy your stay" said the receptionist.

"Thanks" replied River and they both turned away from the window. River walked a few steps away and spread out the map in front of them.

"So where do you want to go first?" he asked Snowdream.

 

"Maybe we should go to our rooms and drop off our bags."

They walked towards the elevator and Snow looked at the keys. 199 and 201.

 

"Our rooms are next to each other!" Squealed Snow in delight.

 

They took the elevator up to their floor and walked down the long hallway.

 

"195..197..199 and 201, here they are!"

 

Unlocking her door she peeped her head in. The room was amazing. One whole side of the room was windows. Through those windows were views off majestic, snow capped mountains.

 

Just like home. One single tear rolled down her face, as several snowflakes burst from her horn, landing on her.

 

She jumped as she heard a loud knock on the door. Wiping away the tear she answered the door...

"Mhmm I'm positive." He replied as she received her room key and stepped up to the counter startling the receptionist. Once he was handed his room key he turned and smiled to her holding his key in his muzzle as he walked beside her. "So... ummm... Starshy?" He said speaking with the key still held in his mouth. "I didn't want to ask since you might be busy but I was wondering if you would like to explore the resort with me later today?"

" Oh, sure I'd like that. We should meet down here at the lobby. How about over there at the fireplace? " Starshy replied, motioning with her head toward the area in the lobby that provided chairs and couches in front of a cozy looking fireplace. " I'll see you soon, Chocolate. " Starshy smiled and turned to head toward the elevator. She lifted her left hoof and pressed the up button. Glancing at her room key, it was written on the key's paper sleeve that her room was on the 3rd floor.

"...S-see you." He said in his unusually deep voice as she went off to her room. He bit his lip and looked to the saddlebag he was carrying. Work could wait a day or two right? Besides, he had met a new friend and he wanted to learn more about her. He also went his separate way, choosing to go up the stairs rather than the elevator, he had to get his workout in somehow. Once he made it to his room he realized he hadn't packed anything for more than a one day trip. He didn't even know what supplies he had been carrying all this time and opened the saddlebag. Inside he saw a note written by his boss along with several changes of winter clothes and vacation items like soap and a toothbrush. "Dear Chocolate, you work too hard. Sorry to trick you into going to the resort for vacation. But we hope you find time to relax while you are up there."

 

The dark brown stallion blinked as a tiny smile spread on his muzzle. Looked like he would be staying after all.
