Looking for Opinions/Critism on shading and lines styles. Also Cloudchaser!

And this is quite simple, as most of you who are a constant to this forum and browse fan art quite often, I have a distinct shading style which is quite light and I use thick lines. However, it's... meh, for lack of a better word. I've been trying different styles for both of these, including a terrible lineless piece I actually posted, but I think I've found a style that works.

 

So, anyway, here is the new style in the form of Cloudchaser.

I'm not sure which I like more. Coincidentally,  I've sent two pictures to EQD, one in both styles, (The Cloudchaser one and this) so seeing if either make it would be interesting.

 

All criticism and such is very much appreciated, but if you are critiquing, please only do so for the Cloudchaser pic.

Now now now, what a great piece it is. I somehow like this new style of yours very much. There's no doubt from me, that i would choose the new style. But there's always a thing about your pictures. The snout. The snout line just goes towards the head so far, that it makes a person's eye think, that there should be an eye on the right side of the head aswell.

 

The face is done for a 90 Degrees view, and the snout is somewhat done as if it was at a 45 Degrees angle.

 

Again, new style, hooves down!

I think I've said this before, but I've been drawing hprses, not ponies, for 6 years now. As the head works on a horse, you condense that you get a stallion's head, just rounded a bit more. So I cut off half and get that. Shut up I'm lazy as hell.

I like the new touch of shade you are using for cloud chaser, it's really soothing to the eyes. Based on the other two you posted I can see why you're trying to touch it up a little bit. I do like the boldness of them though. I honestly can't decide which I like better though, I would have to go with example one, because it does relax my eyes a little bit. [Has bad eye-sight & refuses to wear classes.] XD

I was thinking the same thing. It's just the older is bit easier. And I don't need to use Photoshop.

I stopped wearing them due to a brony-con some months ago. I put them on to read a couple of papers being issued out and some old-fat pervy guy grabbed me by my arm and told me that I was "Very sexy and I should have came to the con in a short skirt." Not even joking, some kids grandmother pulled this loathe off me by putting on his ear and drug him to the security guard. xD

Interesting indeed. I like her new style, and difficulty is all based off opinion. She should take a few breaks every now-and-again, so she doesn't lose interests in her art. x3
