I stink at art, so I end up paying people to produce it for me.

But this looks like a cool tutorial for those who aspire to greater things than I.

While this is somewhat helpful, step by step is more helpful. This basically just says what to do at the start and then what it should like when it's done, skipping a lot of important details. If you are new to art, this won't help you much. If you have a rough idea, pretty useful.
