Slicer smiled. "That would be fun...We could practice right now...Or maybe tomorrow would be better. We wouldn't want to wake everypony up." He said. "Anyhow...Why did you decide to come on the trip ?" He asked, wrapping his wings around himself, Trying to keep warm.

She stared blankly at him for a second - "I...home?" she said softly, the words ringing in her ears as she spoke them - her ears then flopped down and she lay her chin on her forelegs, looking evidently rather sad. "I...don't remember my home..." she started "Since I began practicing ice magic, i've not been able to live in normal society. I've been living in the Crystal Mountains...so I guess there." She went silent for a few minutes while she reflected on her past, but she soon went back to her regular confident sounding self - "What about you North? From where do you hail?"

"that would be great, if we have spare time to tomorrow then we definitely should. And the reason i came on this trip mainly was just to seriously test my self to the extreme, no pony has made it to the centre, i train every day, every chance i get so i am determined to get there" as he was saying this he got some moss and spread around him, but checking through the moss to make sure there was no unwanted critters in there.

Slicer nodded. "I wonder what's at the center...I bet its a portal to another world or something...Like...I dunno. Or maybe its power...Like we will all get super powers or something." He laughed and looked back at the camp, everypony was setting up their tents and getting ready for the night.

North tilted his head, contemplating his answer. After a few moments, he supplied, "I'm usually fairly cut off too, actually. I live on one of the highest clouds you'll ever see, just peacefully floating across the known world by myself, plotting the land I see below me... It's a wonderful job, don't get me wrong, but... After a while you get restless. Part of the reason I was so eager to come here. To stretch my wings, you know?" As he mentioned stretching, he actually did stretch. "Actually, one of my first jobs was the Crystal Mountains. But..." Pausing momentarily, North looked slightly abashed. "Sorry if I brought up bad memories." He hadn't missed her discomfort.

She lay her head back down comfortably and closed her eyes, her voice was now soft - soft even for hers "Don't worry about it, the past is the past, i'm here now aren't I? So...tell me, what do you think is the likelihood of us actually making it out of here alive?" she asked with an edge of concern, twitching her legs. "Do you think we'll see the outside again?" she didn't show any visible signs of emotion while she spoke, but the fear was in her voice. She was eager to test herself and find the heart, but she wasn't suicidal, and she wasn't fearless.

"i have no idea what is there, but it must be very very important if Celestia has requested us herself to retrieve it. If it is a power source do you think that it supplies the forest with power, witch allows the deadly plants to come alive and attack us like our previous fight ?" he asked.

North kept quiet for a moment, weighing his answers, as always. He looked at the ceiling of the tent, through which he could see the ruddy glow of the sun fading. He had predicted time well. It was sundown. Slowly, he said, "Well... We're certainly the best Equestria has to offer, considering we managed to defeat two fully-grown Yateveo trees without a single casualty. Last time... Well. Last time I came we barely beat one." He had gone strangely quiet, wrapped in the memories of the dead from his previous expedition. "I... I think we'll be the ones to finally make it to the center. But, if not everything goes well... Well... It might sound strange to say it, but... I think the Jungle has... Has a sense of honour. It tries to push you out with all the force it can muster, but if it does manage to make you retreat... It lets you go." He rolled over to one side, allowing the small gash on his side and head to rest on the cool icy floor.

"I bet its something like that. And if the heart is...Well...The jungles life source, I dont want to mess around with it. Which means I will not be taking it, and I think its a bad idea for anypony to take it." He said, tapping his hooves on the ground and looking around at the jungle. "If this thing has a mind...That it must have a good reason to protect whatever is at the center."

Unholy slumped over and collapsed on the ground. everypony was talking to somepony else.

I feel like such a burden to everypony else... she thought to herself before letting out a deep sigh.

Why did I even come on this mission in the first place? she thought, sighing again.

She shifted uneasily, and began staring at her injuries again. "So I guess we're the one's who really did get lucky then?" she asked. She lay her head back down, and she could have sworn she felt a cold shiver shoot through her body No. That can't be right...I AM the cold... she thought. She was eager to see how well she could walk after her short few hours of rest, but reluctantly decided against it. She needed more rest, and she had to get it. With this, she closed her eyes and tried to start falling to sleep.

Star Rain was laying down on the bare earth, silently listening in on everpony's conversations. She took out a diary filled with written memories, and began to write in it.

 

My quest has begun. I've been acquainted with eight other ponies, two of which are actually zebras. My trust toward them is slowly building, but I'm rather uneasy around the pegasus known as Slicer. He looks as if he had escaped from an insane asylum. He even acts that way, but he's rather kind. The one I'm going to have to be careful around is a zebra named Demence. He doesn't value anypony's life for one thing. He made that very clear on the boat ride to this jungle. If I get trapped with him, he's very likely to leave me for dead and casually tell everypony that it'll be a waste of energy to save me or something like that. 

 

She set her pencil down and remembered that she indeed brought a tent with her. It was stored in a place she herself had no knowledge of. All she knew was that she summon it anytime she wanted to. With that, she set up her tent.

Leaf looked through all the pages of the book, but couldn't find anything about the zanbatō he is carrying. He then put it away to begin to think about the many questions of the sword he had; but decided to rest them until tomorrow, where the jungle is going to get worse.

Unholy got up and trotted over to Leaf.

"Uh... hi. I noticed you're all alone here and it sounds like you need somepony to talk to." Unholy said, not sure if the pony even wanted to talk or not.

I'm probably just annoying this pony. I doubt he even wants to talk to me... Unholy thought to herself.

Leaf, half-asleep heard Unholy's voice. "Sure. I don't mind, what do you want to talk about?" he asked. Leaf never really intends to ignore anyone, but he had been so engaged in the sword, that he should talk to someone who actually standing right in front of him.

"So... you sound distracted... what were you just reading about?" Unholy asked as she touched Leaf's book that was laying in-front of her.

"Oh, I was just trying to find something about the sword I found back where we were fighting those trees... I can't really seem to find anything about it." Leaf went over with her. He then took out the shrunken sword from his bag, pushed the button, and expanded the blade.

Unholy heard the movement of the sword.

"Do you mind if i?" she asked as she placed one hoof on the handle of the swords.

she saw something, a vision perhaps, but she didn't like it. she quickly drew her hoof back and the 'vision' stopped.

"That sword has seen many battles... guard it well, trust nopony with it." she murmured to Leaf, as she tried to get the images out of her head.

"Well if it is i am sure that north has something for it, but we could be totally wrong and it could be something good we never know, all i want is to make it and bring as many ponies with me as possible, that includes you Slicer" Aqua said as he looked into the forest wondering what was out there.

Slicer chuckled. "I don't plan on dying anytime soon...But sometimes plans change...So we will see. But I will do everything in my power to make sure we all make it safely." He said, following Aqua's gaze into the jungle.

"I think we will be able to make it, as i said earlier we just need to work together and everything will be so simple" he said hopping that they dont encounter and more of the stumps they were fighting earlier.

Unholy heard Aqua and Slicer talking, so she decided to leave Leaf and walk over to the other two ponies.

"Uhhh... hello... mind if I join you guys?" Unholy asked, as she sat down between the two ponies.

"so what are you two taking about." she asked, hoping she wasn't butting in to anything too secretive.

"Hello Unholy, We were just talking about the center of the jungle...What do you think it is ?" He asked her. moving a little ways down the log so she could sit down. *Wait...She cant see.* "You can sit down if you would like." He said, taking hold of her hoof and showing her where the log was.

"Hey there unholy" Aqua replied as he budged along a little, as well as slicer for unholy to sit in-between them both. Slicer had already  told her what they were talking about so Aqua did not have to say anything else, he just scraped the moss back around him from were he had moved and awaited unholy's reply.

"Personally... I actually can't wait to get out there in the middle of this jungle. From what already happened, I want to know what else is in store, I feel like its just another challenge for all of us to face, each challenge a surprise to us. It keeps us on our hooves, keeps us on edge, it gives us a stronger sense of adventure." Unholy said, raising her head toward the sky, she couldn't see anything, but she knew the jungle canopy was above them.

"There is something I was told when I was a filly, Zecora told me, i don't remember it word for word, but she basically told me to go forth and adventure, I will never see until I "see" the world." She added with a chuckle.

"So... is there any reason you two want to adventure further into the jungle?" she asked, bushing slightly because she had gotten side-tracked.
