Discharge simply laughed at the rambling pony. "I wonder if Celestia sleeps on a bed or a cloud? She's an Alicorn after all" he asked jokingly, before trotting to the edge of the camp and peering into the distance, narrowing his eyes to try and get a judge on the landscape. "Is that everypony ready?" he asked, turning to face the group and counting - "Flame, Maroon, Quip, Nig..." he mumbled the names of the other ponies off to himself as he counted "Where's Lost Knowledge? Can someone wake him please? We have a long treck ahead of us. This terrain isn't the most forgiving either."

"We have a fair treck today, ideally we'll get through the forest ahead. We should be at the foot of the mountain by about nightfall, if the weather clears up and dependant on lighting conditions, we'll continue up the mountain. From there, we head across the range until we reach the tower. Keep an eye out for anything on the way, the guards had sent word they had retrieved the amulet, remember."

@,

Flame nodded at Discharge then trotted over to where Lost was sleeping. He nudged him a couple times and said. "Hey...Knowledge...wake up, we gotta go." He said, nudging him again then looking up at the sky, which he could barely make out as his vision was obscured by the thick fog.

@,

Lost Knowledge got up and shook his head to wake himself up faster

"Oh, right, we need to get moving don't we? Sorry I overslept, I guess using my magic to treat people so much took a lot more out of me than I thought. So what exactly is the plan now that we don't have carriages?

"We're hoofing it" came Discharges voice from the edge of the group. It took him a minute, but eventually he walked over to Lost, and nodded for him to follow him away from the group for a minute. He went and sat by the river, taking one last look and collecting his memories while he waited.

Through the forest, up to the mountain top, and then trekking over the highland. Ardent wasn't kidding when he said that this journey wouldn't be an easy one. Maroon Sky chuckled, of course everything wouldn't be a simple walk in the park. When Ardent sat near the river, Maroon Sky decided it would be a good time to retrieve his stone clubs. He trotted to the last location he saw the weapon, carefully keeping a line of sight to the group. Getting lost in this fog wouldn't make a good story.

"Now where are you...?" Maroon Sky murmured to himself, eyes scanning the grass around him.

@,

Lost Knowledge followed Discharge away from the camp and sat down next to him by the river.

"Is there something wrong? What do you need to talk to me about separate from the rest of the group?"

Lost Knowledge honestly had no idea what it could be that Discharge wanted to discuss.

"Amazing isn't it? Through all the chaos and misery, the water there can be so...calm." He took a deep breath, before turning to Lost Knowledge and standing up "I need to apologise to you. As you know yesterday, things went...not so great. You've been a great asset to the group from the very get-go. The way I acted yesterday was inexcusable, but...well...i'm sorry, for what it's worth. You seemed to get the brunt of my anger after the incident, I know that now. The last thing we need to do is step on each others hooves..."

He wasn't very good with authority, not much better at admitting he was wrong, and he was even worse with apologies. While it may not be what Lost deserved, it was the best Discharge could do.

@,

Lost Knowledge stood up and put a hoof around Discharge's shoulder.

"Look, you don't have to apologize. You lost your best friend, you had every right to be frustrated. I was asking for it anyway, I should have just left you alone to grieve. If you feel bad about it, don't worry, I've already forgiven you."

@@@Starshine,

Discharge looked a little blankly at the hoof on his shoulder, then a smile appeared on his face. "I...thanks."

He took one last look over the river, before he began trotting back to the front of the group. "ALRIGHT!" he bellowed "time's wasting everypony, let's get a move on! We travel light, everything we can afford to leave gets left. Maybe we'll pick them up on our way back." and with this he began walking in the direction of the forest.

He managed to walk about 10 feet before almost tripping over something large, he stopped to see it was Maroon Sky, looking around for something on the floor. "lost a contact?" he chuckled.

@,

"Hm... Nope," said Maroon Sky, his eyes still busy scanning around him. His face brightened when he found the round black stones, one lying motionless next to a heap of dry woods that were used to be timberwolves, and the other somehow successfully scorched the flora around it during the night. His horn glowed, and the stones obediently dragged themselves to him. "I'm just trying to recover my equipments. It's kind of hard to come across a rock that can handle both physical and magical stress." With a flicker of telekinesis he latched the stone clubs to his saddle bag. "Yep, I believe I'm ready to go."

Flame...who had no desire to walk on his bad leg...spread his wings and took off into the air, flying above the ground a few bits of fire occasionally flickering behind him. "I wonder when this fog will start to fade." He muttered, looking back at the fog the twirled around in his wake.

"They are...somewhat impressive, i'll give you that." He looked on ahead, seeing nothing but fog that only seemed to get thicker. "I have no idea if we're even going the right way." Still though, he continued to walk straight ahead, checking back regularly to make sure he could still see the group behind him, it was only when he checked back the third time that he realised he had completely lost sight of them all, except for Maroon. He sighed, and sat down, waiting for them to catch up. He assumed they would have followed his direction, at least. "This fog really needs to clear up sometime soon" he said with a somewhat annoyed tone.

"We need some more pegasai to make a twister or something." He said, landing next to Discharge and wincing as pain shot through his leg...he didn't land gently enough. "Buckin' timberwolf." He said, looking back at the slightly bloody bandages. *I'll clean those up later.* He thought.

Discharge looked at the pegasus, noticing his rough landing. He didn't say anything about it however.

"What do we need one of those for?" he asked, unsure of Flame Dancers intent. "Besides, I don't think weather patrol would appreciate an unscheduled event like that...we don't even have enough pegasi here, do we?"

"That's what i'm saying. And if we had some more pegasai than we could use all the wingpower to clear up the fog...I was just saying it would be nice...I know it's not actually gonna happen." He said, looking around at all the fog. "It'll clear up by this afternoon though."

@,

((yeah I just realised my last post made no sense))

"I sure hope so, it's going to be pretty difficult to navigate through a forest when you can't see the trees in front of you." he looked back at Flame's bandages.

"You...really should sort that out. We already have one pony seriously injured, we don't need to have an amputation too."

"We have... You, Flame Dancer, Night Song, and Chatty Dash. If I recalled correctly none of you have weather-related cutie mark." Maroon Sky said. He muttered some incomprehensible words to himself before continuing. "Please let me try something."

He concentrated for a bit and called for a small yellow orb in above his horn, which slowly grew in size. After it reached a sufficient size, it launched itself to a considerable height and exploded in an exaggerated 'pop'. Maroon Sky could feel a wave of warm wind blew on him from above, but there was no changes on the fog itself.

"Hm, that didn't work. At least they know where we are right now"

Flame nodded at Discharge and sat down, he pulled some bandages from his bag and started unwrapping the ones already around his leg.

He grabbed his canteen and poured some water over the cut to clean off the blood. He sipped some of the water and started wrapping some fresh bandages around the wound.

Lost Knowledge had been following Discharge, but quickly lost sight of him as the fog settled in. He tried to generate wind with his magic to clear the fog away, but it was no good. Focusing his energy into the tip of his horn, he made it emit a bright gold glow that pierced through the fog enough that he could see ponies ahead of him. A few moments later he recognized them as Discharge, Maroon, and Flame Dancer. He hurried over towards them.

"Well, this fog is becoming something of an issue, isn't it?"

@,

Night Song had finished packing her stuff(she didn't bring alot) and flew off to catch up while ignoring the cut she got. "You know Lost, I can help clear away this fog," she called down from above. Without a second thought, she turned to the right and began to flap the fog into that direction.

@,@,

The fog started moving slowly, in thick waves.

It wasn't long before it was thin enough for Discharge to make out the shape of the carriage in the distance. "I think that'll do for now, we don't need you exerting yourself too much. Nice work." As he finished speaking, he noticed two pony shaped outlines at the camp still. He quickly looked at who was with him, and realised it was Quip and Goldseek who where still at the carriage. "Is there some quicksand we missed back there? You two coming or what?" he shouted after them, trying to get their attention.

"Thanks Discharge!" Night Song called back. She stopped using her weather-changing abilities and flew back to the ground and joined the others. She adjusted her bow and quiver that was slung across her body and walked on with the group. She was more comfortable now that the fog had thinned.

"Sorry! Just trying not to walk into anything!" He yelled towards the voice. He was beginning to see a little better. He walked towards the rest of the group.

@, (I had assumed Quip was following with everypony... thanks for that -_- I'll just go and break reality now)

Quip eyed Discharge. 'I'm standing right next to him...' "I'm... right here?" he said and tapped Discharge on the shoulder. "Are you seeing things? Fog get into your head or something?" he questioned like Discharge was going insane.

"Huh?" Discharge jumped at the sudden touch, "How did you...what?" he asked confused.

Looking back over at the carriage, he noticed the fog was starting to slowly creep in again, and Goldseek was almost at the group now - alone.

He shook his head - "must be something alright..." he laughed, once more walking in the direction of the forest.

((I'm just going to...y'know...skip ahead a lil'))

It wasn't long before they reached the outskirts of the forest. He couldn't see any of the trees, but Discharge knew they where close. The foul smell of the Timberwolves breath still lingered in the air, coupled with the crunching of leaves on the ground, and the occasional spiky branch that lay under the grass - they where definitely there. He quickly galloped ahead of the group and turned to face them, floating a few meters of the ground. "Listen up everypony, the fog out here is thick enough, in there it's most likely going to get even worse. If you look over there, you'll see...um...should see a path." He gestured to his left (the groups right) as he spoke, then realising the fog blocked the view. "Anyway...that's our route, we should've been going through there on the carriages initially, but there's nothing wrong with a little walking."
