Hes a grown mare obsessing over a little girls toy, seems fishy to me Big Mac is a mare now?! OMG PLOT TWIST! Some people say it is, some people say it's not. It's not a jab, it's a friendly joke, provided it is actually about what you are implying. This has been brought up way tooo much... 4 Eeveelutions: @Vaporeon: N-Harmonia : Ampharos @Flareon: Descant/Bard @Espeon: Locked @Umbreon: Lhee @Leafeon: Firebolt @Glaceon: Mal @Sylveon: Don'tDropThatDedenne
poniesforfun 716 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 (edited) Maybe but I haven't thought it that way I saw it as it's silly for a big matured stallion to like a doll. As far as I'm concerned the show has been congeal to Bronies so far. The dragon migration episode kind of sounded like it was meant for Bronies for one thing but that's just me. Big Mac is a mare now?! OMG PLOT TWIST! Somepeople say it is, some people say it's not. It's not a jab, it's afriendly joke, provided it is actually about what you are implying. This has been brought up way tooo much... He did impersonate Applejack as a stallion once. Edited February 1, 2013 by poniesforfun

Dark Qiviut 22,405 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 (edited) I highly doubt Big Mac's spell-locked obsession with Smarty Pants is a jab towards bronies. Most of the episodes' scripts are finalized at least a year in advance; back when Lesson Zero's script was officially submitted for the show, the brony fandom was still so small, it didn't have a powerful impact on the creative team yet. Twinhead B 482 February 1, 2013 Share February 1, 2013 Im starting to think that this thing with big macintosh and the stuffed animal is a hidden joke at bronies. Hes a grown stallion obsessing over a little girls toy, seems fishy to me Fix'd It is certainly a reference to the brony culute, but not a jab. The creators of the show, the voice actors, and hasbro love us. They all believe what we're doing (defying gender roles) is an amazing thing, and something that people should learn from. Hell, Tara Strong has probably been to more Brony Conventions than Non-Brony Conventions by now. After all, Big Mac's obsession with Smarty Pants hasn't been mentioned outside of two instances (Lesson Zero and Ponyville Confidential) in the show, and neither one has been specifically negative. I highly doubt Big Mac's spell-locked obsession with Smarty Pants is a jab towards bronies. Most of the episodes' scripts are finalized at least a year in advance; back when Lesson Zero's script was officially submitted for the show, the brony fandom was still so small, it didn't have a powerful impact on the creative team yet. Given how short the scene of Big Mac running away with Smarty Pants is, it's possible they could've snuck the reference in after the script was written and approved, after the brony culture was picking up steam as a nod to us. It's true that scripts are finalized at least a year in advance, but adding small shots in like that are done last-minute all the time. Same thing could've happened with Ponyville Confidential.
