Arrow was climbing down a particularly large boulder towards the others when here eyes widened. She slipped but managed to catch herself. "Something's wrong...G-Guys...Something's wrong at my garden...I...I can feel it." She said, climbing down from the rock and sitting down. She gulped and stared down at the ground. "Where's Nightfall and Chamois ?" She asked, looking up at Moonbeam.

"I'm not exactly sure. One minute they were there, chatting, and the next they were gone. I think they may have went back to the garden for something, but don't worry. They know the way we came, and Nightfall can teleport, anyway," she said. "I hope they get back soon though."

Paradox reached out to catch Arrow, but she had already stopped herself. He walked up to her and asked, "What's wrong, Arrow?" He put a hoof on her shoulder.

Nearby the garden, a changeling who had made himself up to look like a certain black and white pony was waiting for just the right time to walk into the garden.

"S-Something is wrong. There's something there th-that shouldn't be...We need to go b-back." She said, looking into Paradox's eyes.

She wanted to tell him how scared she felt but didn't want to sound to dramatic. "P-Paradox...I...we need to go back. I'm...scared." She said, her lip quivering slightly.

She didn't know why she felt this way but she knew something was definitely wrong.

Dox looked over to the changeling kingdom. It was so close, but... "Ok, Arrow, sweetie, don't worry, we can go back." He turned to look at the others. "Well, seeing as you're still following me, those of you who want to help at the garden, come with us. The rest of you, continue on to the edge of the forest, but go no further. Wait for us there."

Dox looked over to the changeling kingdom. It was so close, but... "Ok, Arrow, sweetie, don't worry, we can go back." He turned to look at the others. "Well, seeing as you're still following me, those of you who want to help at the garden, come with us. The rest of you, continue on to the edge of the forest, but go no further. Wait for us there."

 

Arrow shook her head. "N-No. You guys go on and I will s-see if I can catch Nightfall and Chamois before they teleport back here...if I miss them then I will c-catch up later." She said, spreading her wings.

Part of her wanted Paradox to insist on coming but she knew that that would mess up the mission so part of her also hoped that he and everypony else would keep traveling to the changeling kingdom.

Paradox looked at her sternly. "No. I'm coming with you, Arrow, and that's that. I love you, and if anything were to ever happen to you, I just..." He sighed. "But nothing will happen. I'm going with you, you can't stop me." He smiled and kissed her cheek, then said, "C'mon, let's get going."

Paradox looked at her sternly. "No. I'm coming with you, Arrow, and that's that. I love you, and if anything were to ever happen to you, I just..." He sighed. "But nothing will happen. I'm going with you, you can't stop me." He smiled and kissed her cheek, then said, "C'mon, let's get going."

Arrow usually would have refused but Paradox didn't sound like he could be convinced to move on without her. "I...fine. It will be faster if I were to just fly, unless you know how to teleport." She said, fluttering her wings and moving towards the rock pile to start the long climb back up to the top.

Lost Knowledge nodded in agreement. Well, not about loving her, but that he was coming with them.

 

"I'm going too. There's no way I'm going to let you run off on your own now, after we went to all the trouble of finding you again. Whatever we do, we do as a team, alright?"

Chamois pulled him up.  "You know..." she said.  "I...don't think this was the best idea..." she admitted.  But my sketch book!  But...actually we might die.  I think I might have messed up for us both.  Chamois glanced around.  She pointed her hoof in the direction of some pretty white flowers she didn't know the name of.  She had seen them before, when she was about to sketch.  "Over there I believe," she said, trotting over.

"Alright then. And if you two are going, I doubt Shade will want to be left alone, so she can come along too." He looked up at Arrow and said, "Get down here, I'll teleport everypony there." He then looked at Shade plainly and said, "C'mon, we're going back to the garden."

"Lets just make this quick, I want to be in the hive as soon as posable, every second we waist, the stronger they will get. I could teleport myself you know, but what ever..."

 

Shade was annoyed that she was close to the hive, and she dosnt get to march in there confronting the changeling again.

Nightfall trotted slowly behind her, turning around, trotting backwards, feeling on edge.

"There's something here... there's something way wrong here... I don't like it at all..."

He trotted up beside, facing the way she was, and got close, almost uncomfortably close.

"Alright then. And if you two are going, I doubt Shade will want to be left alone, so she can come along too." He looked up at Arrow and said, "Get down here, I'll teleport everypony there." He then looked at Shade plainly and said, "C'mon, we're going back to the garden."

Arrow mumbled something that nopony else could hear but she nodded anyway. "Fine." She said, feeling rather annoyed at the fact that everyone was requesting to come along...if nothing was there she would feel quite embarrassed. "Just try not to Teleport us onto any of my plants." She said, walking next to Paradox.

The changeling Paradox limped into the garden, making it look like he had beed attacked. "G-guys... we... need help... attacked... over in forest..."

Nightfall started trotting over toward the changeling.

"Wait right there... don't move... I'm-"

Just then the rest appeared in front of him. He was confused for only one second.

"Everyone, get down!"

Nightfall growled at the Paradox changeling, and jumped at him.

Arrow stumbled around slightly as they all teleported to her garden. "Dryads should never do that." She muttered, getting her balance and looking up to see Nightfall dive at...Paradox ? No...but Paradox was behind her...it was a. "A changeling...I knew it." She growled.

The changeling hissed and grew wings, lifting itself off the ground and spitting it's sticky green spit at Nightfall, immobilizing him. The queen had sent him out to survey the threat, perhaps even do away with them, but he had been found out.

 

Meanwhile, Dox stood wobbily and looked around. Teleportation always took a lot out of him, and made his head hurt quite a bit. He looked and saw... another him? He thought his head was making him see things.

Nightfall hit the ground on his side hard, unable to move. The hit knocked his head against a good sized rock hard, and he almost blacked out. He couldn't remember anything for a second, and when his vision finally started clearing, he took a deep, ragged breath, having had the breath knocked out of him.

Arrow growled. "Oh no you don't." She muttered, stamping her hoof on the ground. Vines from all around her garden shot up at the changeling, aiming at its legs. "Nothing just break's into my garden and gets away with it." She said angrily, spreading her wings.

"Oh, my!" exclaimed Moonbeam as she saw the attacking Paradox-changeling. She had to do something.But what could she do? She wasn't a warrior. It was when Arrow used her vines that she realized what she could do. She took advantage of how the changeling was captured by the plants.

 

"Chamois! Chamois, are you okay? What did you come back here for?" she asked in a panic.

Nightfall blinked several times. He had, luckily, twisted in a way in which he could see the others. He saw the swooping changeling, taking him a second to see it going for Paradox. He couldn't believe what was going on, and he tried tracing back what was happening.

"Paradox! Get- Get down!"

He struggled in his bonds, only causing a bit of bleeding.

The vines reached for the changeling but he was too far away so they all fell to the ground. Arrow was about to try something else until changeling dived towards Paradox "NO." She screamed, jumping into the air and flying as fast as she could at the changeling.

Paradox saw the changeling coming towards him, and he heard Nightfall shout at him to get down, but it was too late. The changeling struck Paradox on the head, and, by accident, removed the eyepatch he was wearing. He was bleeding from the side of his head, but he ignored it and tried to cover up his eye, but it was too late. A dark mist started eminating from him, and he screamed out in pain. It had begun, and nothing could stop it.
