Firebolt didn't answer the instructor, beggining to feel nervous again. A few confident ponies began calling their names out at random. Firebolt sighed quietly and closed her wings again, stepping back a bit. What point does yelling names out at random serve, anyway?

Lightning bounced forward. "I'm Lightning!" he said in reply to the teacher. He was excited and simply could not wait for the class to start so that he could show off how good he was at flying.

 

As long as he could at least try to land properly, that was. But hopefully, the teacher would sort that out.

''Eh, Splinter. Ma'am.'' Splinter said while shivering. ''Ma'am? MA'AM!? Why would I say Ma'am! Where am I, the comics section in the daily newspaper?! Or even worse, a roleplay?!?'' Splinter thought to himself while wishing he could have face hoofed. Although he knew  it would be unusual.

Firebolt sighed and quietly said. "I'm Firebolt." She doubted that it was audible, but now she wouldn't be lying if she said she had said her name already. Firebolt looked at the ground, feeling nervous, but also getting impatient due to how long it was taking class to start.

 Hex dragged out an obviously heavy bag. "I am your teacher Hex. This is Flying class. To start off, I don't believe any of you can fly no matter how good you are" she emptied the bag and weights fell out. She sorted them for each pony. The weights were designed to go around the body and a set of smaller ones for the legs.

 

"Each of you put these on. Time for endurance..." she said and glanced at Splinter.

''I'm pretty sure I'm going to die here. No, seriously. I think I might just die in this very school.'' Splinter thought while gazing at the weights nervously. He put a weight on and gulped. ''I think you're right, Hex. I will never fly no matter how good I am. No, I'm being serious. I'm terrible at it.''

''I'm pretty sure I'm going to die here. No, seriously. I think I might just die in this very school.'' Splinter thought while gazing at the weights nervously. He put a weight on and gulped. ''I think you're right, Hex. I will never fly no matter how good I am. No, I'm being serious. I'm terrible at it.''

 She stared down hard at Splinter.

 

"When I'm done with you, you're going to wish you had been born an Earth Pony...but you will be one of the best damn flyers in Cloudsdale." she turned away from him, watching the other students pull on thier weights in protest.

Sugar Rush had remained quiet, it's not like the teacher wouldn't eventually learn her name, after all, she was gonna be here all year.  She walked around the weights, she tried to look for the lightest ones, she was incredibly fast and agile..... now strong, it was something completely out of her element, she gave away a heavy sigh as she put on what looked the best from the stack, and tested them out for a second, the extra weight made it a bit harder to walk, but she'd eventually grow used to it, she hoped.

Day Dreamer carried the weights. Not what she preferred of course, but not the hardest thing she's ever done. After all, she was raised in a place where she needed to do a LOT of physical labor.

Endurance? First?! Really?! Firebolt thought, a bit flustered. Knowing she was too small to lift anything heavy, Firebolt picked up the lightest weights and walked around a bit, stretching her legs. They felt a bit big on her, and like they were going to fall off if she moved too fast, which wouldn't be a problem, the more she thought about it.

"Are we done? Good."

 

Hex strode back and forth in front of her students, looking them over.

 

"My name is Hex. For now you call me "Teacher". This is one of the hardest classes here and very soon you will see why. I'm the one who trained The Wonderbolts...and I was the reason Rainbow Dash quit this school" she stopped and sighed "I warn you now that this will be difficult, I don't cut anypony slack." She made sure everyone was wearing thier weights properly.

 

"The rest of the class you can socialize BUT!!! For the rest of the period you must hover no less than 3 feet off the ground continuosly. If you even touch the floor you will get bad marks understand? Questions?"

Firebolt raised an eyebrow. Teaching the Wonderbolts was one thing, but she had no idea who 'Rainbow Dash' was. Whoever it was, it was most likely somepony of importance. She sighed, and began hovering in the air, endurance wasn't anywhere close to her strong suit, but it was easy enough, plus most of the ponies, specifically the stallions, seemed to have bitten off more then they could chew.

Sugar Rush looked down at her hooves worried, she began to flap her wings, slowly at first, after realizing her weak efforts to fly weren't working she tried to speed up her wing power, her wings fluttered as she hovered above the ground, she was gonna grow tired eventually, especially in how she underestimated how heavy those weights were.

Firebolt flew over to Sugar Rush slowly. She wasn't sure she wanted to talk to somepony, but there was nothing better to do. Her weights hung loosely around her, and she could feel them wanting to fall off, but they were heavy enough to stay only a bit past her withers. Firebolt flew over to Rush and smiled slightly.

Autumn could hear the flying instructor all the way down the hall.

"Gosh... I'm glad I'm not a student here." Autumn muttered as she sat down at her desk.

"I guess I can just draw until I have a class to teach..." she said to herself.

pulling out drawing pad, she began to sketch a pony, or what looked like a pony... it had such odd button eyes...

''Whats wrong?! She's going to make me more of a coward than I already am right now!'' Splinter whispered harshly. ''Besides, as long as this doesn't end up like Rainbow Factory, I'll just learn to get better.'' Splinter whispered a little less harshly than he had whispered previously. He gulped and tried to fly but after a short time plundered to the ground again.

Sugar Rush successfully managed to hover a couple yards from the ground, with a successful grin she turned around to see Firebolt "Uhh, Hiya" she said, her smile remained, and all hooves pointed towards the ground, she wouldn't spend more energy trying to pick one up for waving her hoof at the new pony.

Firebolt waved back at the other pony, and looked around a bit. It was quite obvious most of the ponies had picked weights that were far too heavy, while she picked some she knew were too light. Always good to start off my looking weak, makes you look better in the longrun. She thought, smirking slightly.

"Endurance, eh?" Lightning thought to himself as he chose a pair of suitable weights for himself. He remembered what his mother had said about the class; in other words, not to over exert himself just to show off cuz in the end, all it would do would be to make a fool of himself. Therefore, he chose the lightest weights he could find, noticing that a couple of the fillies had already taken the lightest of all. But these ones would be alright, thanks to all the wing strengthening exercises his mother had forced him to do. Lightning had been annoyed at having to do them, but now could see that his mother had been right as he flapped his wings, hovering at the correct height. He didn't have any interest in socialising now; as far as he was concerned, that could wait for break.

Alona was so excited for her first day of school with her being new to Cloudsdale and all she wondered what type of Pegisi she would meet and what type of classes she would have. excited, she walked to the front doors of the school and headed into the office

As Luna was trying to get to her school schedule she remembers that she had left her lunch at home. When she tried to go back to the door there was to many pegasus in the way that she had no chose but to just keep going and find out what her school schedule is.
