Shadow Flame OC Drawing (Hand Drawn)

I have yet another in-class sketch that soon turned into my OC, Shadow Flame. It's a black and white version of my profile picture, but closer up and a black moon background.

I hope you like him :D

I'm gonna start parting myself from notebook paper soon and use card paper or computer paper. Leave responses!

Very nice, Shadow. I love the shading.

But, here's a few things i'd like you to improve on more:

-Eyes

-Body

The rest are fine. Take a closer look at your picture, see any more mistakes you made. The body is kinda fat. If the hooves were moved a little closer to the belly, it would be good. The eyes-maybe you could match it with the mouth.

Yeah, I noticed those too. Sadly the eyes and body sizing are my biggest weak points. I'm still not a very experienced artist at all, but I'm working on the areas that I have major flaws in :D

Your proportions are all over the place, but you did get one important thing correct: Ponies should have strong chests.

If you want to get better at the bodies, I have a reference sheet you can use.

The important things to note are:

1. The head in this picture is 4mm, the chest is 2mm, and the flank is 3mm. This means the head and the chest are in a 2:1 ratio and the chest and flank are in a 2:3 ratio.

2. The distance between the base of the skull and the center of the chest is the diameter of the chest and the distance between the center of the chest and the center of the flank is the diameter of the head.

3. In a normal standing pose the flank will be elevated above the chest, as you can see in the reference.

If you measure these out before you draw you should be able to get a pretty spot pony body.

I'd give you a similar reference for the legs, but, well, they're significantly more complex and I haven't yet redrawn the current, crappy reference sheet I use.
