How would things play out if Twilight became corrupted by the Alicorn Amulet?

Twilight would try to overcome the evil, but can't. She will try to do what Trixie did, take over all of Equestria. Probably not enslave her friends, just take over Equestria as a whole.

Uh, why? I like the fact that Twilight is, you know...good. I mean what kind of kids show would have the main protagonist be evil while the rest of the characters are good? That doesn't really make any sense.

Do you mean something like this? Because that would also be a great setup to deAlicorn her. Why don't you make more artificial alicorns? Why don't we see more alicorns? How did the changelings and windegos come into being? It would give the opportunity for inner mono log and exploration of how things can be taken too far.

Jokes aside, I think she would decide that she didn't need her friends anymore and try to do crazy, dangerous magic that would end up hurting everyone around her. But unlike Trixie, it'd be more of a side effect of her lack of concern rather than a focused desire to damage others.

Twilight was OP as a regular Unicorn, and presumably is even more so now that she has (shudders) transformed. Slap on the Amulet and that's overkill if I ever saw some. There would only be one hope...

On a slightly more serious note, this would be very interesting. We've never really seen a Mane Six character go full on evil to this scale and Twilight would likely be much too smart to remove the Amulet. I'd say they'd be in a real pickle. As Stellafera said, she might become negligent but I believe that would only be the first step towards greater corruption. If they could invent a plausible reason for her to put it on then it might play out as an interesting episode, especially since the Amulet and its origins seem like a big fat loose end.

Now that I think of it Twilight Sparkle is totally overpowered.

 

She not only has a crazy amount of magical power within her, as we know from her entrance exam and the fact the Celestia does acknowledge her strange power, she also has the power of science with her, as we know from her doing some time dilation stuff in the time travel episode. It would be super bad if she were to become corrupted. As others have noted, it may not happen because of the nature of the show, but I think I'd like to see it.

 

Wouldn't it be crazy if she harnest all that power and took down both Celestia and Luna at the same time. Woah.... I can picture the fight going down like this Princess Cadence would be shielding, Princess Celestia and Luna as they fight with Twilight. DBZ fight... DBZ fight...

If that were to ever happen in the show, her friends would somehow get her out of it before apocalyptic damage was ever dealt. But she would definitely be corrupted.

What if she what she learned was not about courage and friendship, but about greed and a desire for absolute power?

What if she formed an empire built apon the blood and ashes of the innocent!

An empire fuled by war and death.

 

One crown.

 

One ruler.

 

And the only hope left, where those she once called friends.

 

(oh and here is an evil Alicorn version for those who want one. The first one just added the sense of a ruined land)

 

 

(this isn't a promotion, I just thought it would also turn out like this. Also this was my inspiration for my dark description).

Okay this video has nothing to do with ponies, but just imagine that it is. You can even put Twilight as the ruler. (which was the point I am trying to make). Look just watch and imagine Twilight in that position and it being the story of Equestria.
