Finally, time to get started. I hope it doesn't get too cold. Pia stretched, preparing for the walk up the mountain, shaking the snow out of her mane. She trotted over to Draco to stand behind his wings in hopes of blocking out most of the wind. 

 

I hope he doesn't mind me being so close, but the wind out here is really cold.

As Flare landed back on the ground he struggled to catch his breath. "Probably was a bad idea to even try and do that" Frost said struggling to catch his breath as he fell to the ground. "It's starting to snow again also" Flare said as he slowly passed out on the snow.

Draco's ears perked up when he heard singing. "Yeah they are in trouble," Draco thought as he sped up towards the sound of singing. "Come on O'mally no pony get's left behind you swore on your family's graves that no pony get's left behind," Draco said aloud more to himself. HE followed the voice and saaw the two ponies.  "Get Flare onto my back since I'm the hottest one around here. I don't mean that in a flirting sence. I mean it's because I've been active so I have the most body heat of this group," Draco said with finality.

Melody stopped singing coughing horribly as she saw Draco land and helped get Flare up onto his back.  "There's a...cough...cave...cough...just ahead." Melody's voice was very raspy and she was panting heavily. She started to trudge through the snow, soon however her vision started to blur. She knew she'd over done it but she didn't think it was this bad. Her breathing suddenly became very labored Stupid cold weather...why does it have to be so.......cold. The last thing Melody saw was Draco carrying Flare towards the cave before she fell into the snow. The snow coming down faster, her breathing very short and fast with her cheeks a deep crimson.

Delia trotted up the hill and soon saw the three ponies. Eager to help these ponies are. She thought as she heard Melody coughing. "Something in your throat new friend? It is good that you found a cave" She said. Moments later she witnessed Melody fall into the snow. Is she tired or is she ill? She proceeded to nudge her with her front hoof. "Hmm, I will just assume you are exhausted and carry you to the cave." Delia said as she looked where Draco was going. She then got Melody on her back and walked towards the cave.

"Delia pick her up onto your back and carry her. There is a cave nearby so we'll need to go get some wood which I can get myself," Draco said with a slight smile on his muzzle. Draco shook the snow off his wings then flared them out again. "Everypony stay behind me I'll protect you from the snow. My wings are large so I'll be able to profide some protection,"

Jolt trotted up to Draco and flared his wings.

 

"Hey Draco, I'll provide another bit of protection. It'd be selfish of me not to do my bit. And don't worry about my wing playing up again. It only happens after I've been flying."

 

A sharp wind blew towards the group, going straight into the wings of Jolt and Draco. Jolt shivered as the wind chill bit into him.

 

"Brrrrr. It's a bit chilly!" Jolt shouted over the howling wind

Draco pulled out a second pair of goggles. "Put these on then so you can see in this weather," Draco said using ventriloquism as he looked to Jolt. He looked behind his wings making sure the other ponies were behind them. "Good two pegasi providing protection now let's move quickly,"

Delia walked behind Draco and then passed him by. "Sorry, but i need to get inside quickly." Delia said as she moved past him.

Delia walked in the cave and gently put the Pony on the ground. "It may not be the most comfortable place you ever laid, but it's all we have." She said as she made her way back outside.

"We need to warm these two up slowly Delia," Draco said as he placed Flare next to Melody gently. He began to pay slowly thinking of what to do. "What we need is heated rocks and a nice fire. I have kindling from the outpost and afew logs from my home. What I'm prepared and I only ever need one fire for my long journeys to either the griffon kingdom or the zebra lands,"

Pia shivered behind the wings of the pegasi, thankful for their protection from the wind. 

 

Upon reaching the cave she rushed inside to it's windless inside. No longer hindered by the sting of snow and frozen air she began to think more clearly. But the cave was nowhere near warm. Hopefully they'll get that fire set up soon. If only I had thought to bring a coat on this journey. 

 

"I agree, we need to get everyone warmed up again. Then we can work out our plan on where to go from here."

Melody slowly started to stir. Her vision was blurry making it very hard to see everypony in the cave. Her body felt numb and she was burning up even though she was really freezing. Her breathing felt heavy as she struggled to take in air. Melody looked up to see Delia standing over her. "Hey Delia...*cough*...I'm sorry I'm...*cough*...slowing everypony down." Melody smiled, her cheeks a deep red. Slowly she fell unconcious again.

Draco pulled afew matches from his pack as he set down miniature logs. "This is why I love the talismans it makes my job a little easier," Draco said as he tore the two talisman's off and they grew to simple wood that was ready to burn. He placed the two spent talismans into the logs as he lit a match. His ear perked up slightly. "Delia lay onto Miss Melody that'll conserve her body heat till I can do something about it," Draco said using ventriloquism. He finally lit the fire as he walked out to the snow and filled up his water bottle. "Now to bring this to melt.,"

The howling wind continued bringing the chill with it,going into and then and Hold Jolt's flared wings. The goggles handed to him earlier by Draco had done a great deal, improving Jolt's eyesight in the blizzard. Jolt began to help huddling the other ponies into the cave so that none of others caught hypothermia.

"Nope you've done enough my friend," Draco said kindly as I waited till the snow inside the water bottle. "Place this under Flare it'll warm him up. Now to find some rocks," Draco said slightly to himself as he looked around the cave slightly. Surviving in the wild was what he did best except being a courier of exotic artifacts or items.

Delia looked at Melody as she spoke and fell into unconsciousness again. "Shh, conserve your strength. Get some rest my friend." She said as she wrapped a blanket she got from her pack around Melody. "I shall embrace your sick body in order to keep it warm." Delia then looked over the group.

 

"Alright, we shall wait out the storm for now. I have a feeling it will let up soon." Delia said with a calm look in her face.

Draco handed the hot water bottle to Pia. He smiled at her kindly. "Place this under you Pia it'll keep you warm till the storm let's up," Draco said as he laid near the fire. He began to hum once more. "I took the blow and did it my way. I always have did things my way haven't I," Draco thought to himself with a slight smiled on his muzzle.

Pia looked up at Draco and took the hot water bottle from him flashing him a weak smile. "Thank you so much. I appreciate your kindness and willingness to take care of all of us. I wish I could be of more help to the group."  She said, her teeth chattering. 

 

She curled up on the bottle and felt the heat begin to spread out towards her limbs and her body temperature began to return to normal. It wouldn't take long to drift off to sleep now...

"Think nothing of it Pia. I have this personal motto 'No pony get's left behind' I already left a couple ponies behind and they didn't make it," Draco said as he looked to the cave's entrance with a sad look in his eyes. Those ponies were his family. He shook his head to clear his thoughts. Those depressing thoughts weren't going to help.

Jolt took the improv hot water bottle and moved over to Flare who was still lying and shivering on the floor.

 

"Heads up." Jolt said whilst raising Flare's head with one hoof and placing the bottle beneath with another. He slowly lowered her back down onto the bottle which have a sizzle when it met Flare's cold body.

 

"Just stay resting. If use your energy up things will only get worse." Jolt said in a calming tone.

 

[Hmmm. All this music talk across the day makes we want to join the fun.]

 

Jolt began to pace around, muttering the lyrics his favourite song by famous dragon rapper Dizzee Rapscale.

 

"Some people think I'm bonkers,

But I just think I'm free.

Man, I'm just living my life,

There's nothing crazy 'bout me."

Draco then walked over to Pia. He laid his large wing over her back gently "Your scared, alone and don't know what to do. I can understand that milady. If you ever feel like that lean against me. I'll be the pillar for the group if they ever need some pony to talk to," Draco whispered kindly into her ear. "If it helps lay with me by the fire and relax. I'll keep watch tonight like I did the other night. I won't let anyone else get hurt," he said softly as he walked to the fire and sat down. He sang softly to himself. The song was from his grandfather.

The cold wind raged on for a while until it eventually died down. The cave had been battered with heavy snowfall; there was snow seeping in the entrance.

 

Delia had chosen to sleep through the storm while holding Melody. She snapped awake and took a deep breath.  She gently set Melody down on a blanket and made her way outside. She stepped through the entrance of the cave and peered outside. Snow Had covered up all the trails. Delia eyes caught a note on the mountain side wall. 

    Delia read the note and laughed. She put the note in her bag and made her way back into the cave.

Flare woke up and stood right up feeling a bit out of it but can move. "I feel like I was hit by a god dang bus and then a train" Flare said as he saw snow seeped into the cave. "What happened why I was out and how long was I out " Flare asked wondering what has happened

Draco stretched slightly as he looked at the old fire now just warm ashes. "How's everypony doing?" Draco asked as he looked around at the other 5 ponies. He yawned slightly as he stood up "Wish we had coffee but oh well could be worse you know. Could be out there in the freezing cold. So any how fearless leader what's the plan," He said with a joking tone towards the end.

Melody slowly started to wake up. Her eyelids heavy, and her breathing was still a little ragged. "Wh...what happened? I remember helping Flare and then..." Melody was cut off mid question when she started to cough uncontrollably. She hadn't slept off her sickness and it was still holding a lingering affect on her. It was then Melody noticed a blanket on top of her. Melody curled up into a ball under the blanket still very cold. Melody looked over to Delia "What happened Delia?"
