Intelligent anti-brony.

has anyone actually seen an intelligent or well informed argument as to why being a brony is wrong? personally all the anti brony media i see is very uninformed or plain stupid.

Most anti-brony rants i see go like this :

"ermahgerd bronies are so gayyyyyyy, because they like ponies. its wrong and so gay to like ponies because it is for little girls"

That's usually as much substance as these videos contain. Really, the only intelligent anti-brony thing i have seen is a review of the show, and that wasn't so much anti brony as it was that person not liking the show and giving his opinion.

However, on the opposite side pro-brony arguments are usually well thought out and based on actual facts.

So basically its videos like this (anti):

versus videos like this (pro):

Who seems better.

Actually, I was a former intelligent anti-brony, before I even became a brony. When I first heard of the fanbase, I was like..."Adult males watching the show? You got to be kidding me," I joined Deviantart, joined an anti-pony group, that actually allowed sane bronies and we started to give out reasons why being a brony isn't the best choice.

My first reason isn't "BRONIES ARE GAY", but actually more like... "Some bronies are hypocritical when using love and tolerance but not on haters, and the dark side of the fandom is very prominent whereas other fandoms don't,"

So yeah, I was a former anti-brony before I became a brony by curiosity I guess.

Hey, who said I can't have an opinion?

No, sadly I haven't seen an anti-brony argument that I found very intelligent. It's too bad, I want a challenge! I want to debate somebody who actually can give a half-logical argument.

Unfortunately, I think it is impossible to intelligently criticize the entire fandom. Of course, they could legitimately challenge practices like spamming ponies on non-pony boards, but that is not the entire fandom.

I have, however, seen sensible arguments that, although civil and not based on accusations of girliness or homosexuality, were logically unstable.

In the intelligent video one hater commented and spelled Bronies "brownies". We aren't exactly going up against an intelligent form of life.

I can't really say i've met an intelligent Anti brony per say, because while sometimes they can make arguments against the fandom portion who can take things overboard and shove it down peoples throats constantly, they can't make much of one for the good part of the fandom, which makes up quite a good chunk of us.

If someone simply hates someone for liking a TV show I don't think they can really be intelligent, sure they don't have to like the show themselves, but to hate a large group of people or just a person for liking a TV show is a bit dumb...

A good bit of them can't formulate much of a comprehensible argument anyways. Some can for part of the fandom, but most of the time they just hate us for the fact that they don't like the show apparently, even if alot haven't watched it. Or they just hate us for being not like most guys or something dumb.

I don't find it intelligent to hate someone for liking a TV show personally, even if you dislike the show.

Yes that is true but "some" is the key word here and that is the same for virtually every major fandom. And other fandoms don't have prominent dark sides? I can personally attest to personal experience being in many different fandoms that there is a in fact a prominent "dark side" to every major fandom. And I am curious as to why being in an anti brony group even one that allows "sane bronies" in is really worth all the time and effort.

There are some people on here that are into Pokemon for example and I grew bored with that years ago, but really don't see the point of going out of my way to tell people why Pokemon isn't really my cup of cider.I confess when I first heard about bronies I thought it was very strange but harmless so I was never really a hater and never really saw the point of being one.

I have seen many attempts at making a solid and well educated argument against bronies. And I hate to say it, but much like the North Korean space program, all attempts resulted in catastrophic failures.

The day I meet an anti brony with an actual argument is the day I decide to go to church and sing songs about an invisible man in the sky.

go to church and sing songs about an invisible man in the sky. *sigh* why even put that?

anyway anti bronies are just dumb i know one and he has told me he doesn't  even dislike us or have a legitimate argument he just likes to troll

But, I thought that one attempt ended up successfully in the North Korean Space Program. I believe it was Kwangongmysong 3.1 I believe.

I don't even know if they are trying to do nuclear ballistic tests.

It's so funny how ignorant the anti-bronies are. Their arguments are completely defenseless. It's all the same "Bronies are gay..." "Bronies are pedophiles...."

Narrow-minded, they are only looking at it from one aspect and one aspect only, which is not right and it won't get them anywhere. Take a good look at the big picture for pete's sake.

Oh? So someone who has a different opinion from you is automatically labeled unintelligent? Whether they called us gay or just weird for liking a children's show, the thing is that many of the bronies are falling prey to something called trolling. Many of them overreacting is basically proving that anti-bronies are intelligent because they set their fuse off.

Really, they don't have low IQ. If they do, then they wouldn't be able to make you guys get angry so easily. They're simply ignorant (which is quite worse). They, like most of the Internet, take pride in being able to cyberbully others. Rather than being outraged by pathetic attempts to insult the show, it's better to laugh at them because their rants and tactics are horrendously far-fetched and fabricated. Bronies far outnumber anti-bronies. And there's a reason for that.

Like the second video said. It's mainly fear because the Brony fan base challenge's the status quo. Within "normal" gender roles, a male isn't suppose to like a show for girls, or things that are considered "feminine". Look at the Furry fandom. Same things if not worse has been said about them. Yes both fandoms have that dark side, you have the cloppers, and the yiffers, and those just plain weird fans. I think all fandoms do really..you need darkness as well as light for balance, and our fandom is no exception..just like with anything in life you are going to have those "black sheep" of the family (Westboro Baptist comes to mind).

Being a Brony is really something you don't understand, until you experience it. I didn't understand it, until I became a Brony. So I feel a lot of the hate is from fear, and misunderstanding. So unless an argument is made by a former Brony. I don't think you will see an intelligent anti-brony argument.

At the distinct probability that I will end up recieving ALOT of hate for this comment I would simply like to state that I am both an anti-brony and a brony. There is no intelligent argument against people watching my little pony, but there are a few logical arguments against bronies themselves. I have found that recently people have not been truly living up to the "Love and Tolerate" thing and are instead using it as a weapon to throw at anybody. My problem is that everybody says that anti-bronies are stupid because they are anti-bronies, which is really just hating them for an idea they have. If you disagree with them hating us as people for having a different idea, then why is it all of a sudden okay for us to do the same? More and more the bronies are just hiding behind the idea of the fandom to try to justify everything they say and to make it seem like all arguments against their specific ideas are stupid arguments by stupid people. If you choose to reply to this with some kind of argument, ask yourself if the argument is against what I am saying or if it is against me. If the answer is the latter, you are doing exactly what you claim to hate.

My opinion on the matter is this: Some people don't like the show. Some of these people don't like the people who like the show. That's how it is, it's their opinion. There are going to be two types of people who don't like bronies: Intelligent people, and not-so-intelligent people. The intelligent people are likely, well, intelligent, and won't start an entirely pointless fight outside of their territory. A not-so-intelligent person will likely shout their hatred from the rooftops. This creates the stereotype that all anti-bronies are obnoxious and stupid, and unable to form better arguments than 'ehrmagherd gay'.

The intelligent anti-bronies are likely going to respond reasonably with evidence supporting why they think we're wrong. This is MUCH less noticeable than 'ehrmagherd bronies r gay', so the impression most bronies are left with is that we are superior in intelligence and morals, when the more likely case is that the loudest person in the room is probably the stupidest. Sadly, this is true from the side of the anti-bronies as well. The loudest and most noticeable bronies are the type who attack anyone who isn't a fan of the show, and give them the reasons to dislike us in the first place. It's pretty much an endless cycle of loud idiots yelling at loud idiots, feeding off of each other's idiocy. I say the best solution is, if they aren't responding intelligently, don't bother arguing with them. If they ARE responding intelligently, keep the discussion going! Maybe provide some counter points, or just thank them. Thank them for not being idiots.

"Hi I'm hipster superman, you probably haven't heard of me I'm pretty obscure."

The center picture is hipster superman. The other four pictures are my favorite webtoon, anime, band, and comic. They're pretty obscure.

They might actually not be but I've never met anyone who's heard of them.
