Creating my Pony.

Hi everypony!

 

   I've been working on my avatar or my pony for the forum, and I think I have his look down..but I'm not sure. Just want something to give him a different look. Forgive me if my art skills seem novice at best. But any advice that can be given would be greatly appreciated. Once I get his head down, I want to draw him out completely, and start working on his story. I want to reflect his personality which would be quiet, and reserved like Big Mac, but he can get hyper, and random like Pinkie Pie (just like me after way too much coffee  ). So I look forward to your feedback, and thank you in advance.

Looks pretty good I'd guess so far from his face, a little hard to tell without having his whole body but looks good so far.

 

The art is pretty good aswell.

 

I have a question though, what is that brown stuff on his mouth is that dirt or chocolate or something else?

 

Just wondering .

 

Looks good so far, It'll be a bit easier for me to see personally with the whole body and everything, but I think atleast the color schemes good.

It seems like a pretty solid design. The only thing that's bugging me is how bright the yellow is for his coat. His mane is brown and brown and yellow can look okay together as long as the yellow isn't too bright.

 It's suppose to be a goatee. I must have missed adding onto it before I uploaded the picture.

Yeah I was trying to go for more of a more subdued yellow, or maybe even like a golden brown color.

This really did help. This is more along the lines of what I see him as. I'm really happy with his coloring in the creator. Thank you for sharing this with me, but I really want to draw him out too, and add the little details, and not to mention his cutie mark. I know his height is a bit short if he is supposed to be around the same age as say Big Mac, still trying to tweak him.

If you want to change height and thickness you just can move the slider under the create tab. There is also an import cutie mark button there under the same tab.   Either way I think you should draw him... You are a good artist!

Why thank you Nayru. You are too kind. I'm still not sure about what "Cal's" cutie mark should be? Since a cutie mark is suppose to be a ponies special talent, it gets me thinking what it should be.  It's like my own Cutie Mark Crusaders episode!

Hmm... I'm not sure if I can really help when finding one's cutie mark  ... Perhaps you should leave Cal as a blank flank so he is open to exploring the world... It is truly up to you though!

Nayru, you're brilliant!   That is an impressive idea! Why didn't I think of that?  I think it will work for now, and could be a good idea for a story too.
