Max groaned when she stopped, but quickly looked apologetic for it. He didn't bother getting up, but simply rolled onto his back so he could see Button. She looked sad, remorseful. Why would she look like that? That was incredible for him.

"Listen, you are so far off the mark. That was amazing. That was better than amazing, that was incredible. I enjoyed it immensely. The only thing that could top that is if you preened my wings. I may have to propose marriage if you do." He said with a chuckle. He didn't want her to feel bad for something that made him feel so good. It wasn't right.

Button smiled and blushed. "I can preen... A little." She chuckled some. "My mom's a pegasus, dad's a unicorn. I'd always see her preening and ask about it, so a bit after I reformed and got my Cutie Mark, she finally showed me how it was done." She tilted her head as her ears twitched. "I haven't done it in a while, but I think it's one of those things that you never forget how to do once you learn it."

"Uhh. Yes. J-Jars is OK. It-it's not the best name I-I could have, but it will do..." Honey Jars concluded. "My name is wierd. W-why would I be called honey jars?" She asked herself, accidentally allowed. "Oh umm. Ignore that." She said. "So W-what is there to do? And w-w-what wa trotingham like? Or Am I being too personal?"

Max's eyes lit up when he heard that, he looked excited.

"Well, I mean I hate to impose...but I mean, if you want..." He rolled back onto his stomach and examined his wings. They were covered in damaged feathers, some were out of place, and overall looked messy. He was never able to preen himself. He always relaxed too much to get it done.

Button blinked, then blushed some. "Could we, perhaps, do it somewhere a bit more private...?" Ponies were gathering in the park with their fillies, some giving them strange looks. Before Max could respond, Buttonstitch used magic to bring him to his feet, giving a nervous smile to the other ponies as she trotted away.

Honey jars looked away from Equinox and muttered really quietly. "I was born in trotingham." She then quickly turned bak to him so as to not draw attention to what she just said. "Um. Yes. Let's go."

"I...may have forgotten we were in a park. That was embarrassing." He said sheepishly. He followed closely behind, remaining silent as they went. He felt ashamed. And with proper reason. He would likely be avoiding the park for at least 2 weeks. He finally asked

"Where are we going?"

"The inn." There were many places to stay, and Button had amazingly found one within her budget. "I mean, my room. At the inn. That's private, and that way, if I screw up, you'll be the only pony to see it." She blushed and smiled, using magic to ease her hair out of eyes yet again. As the locks brushed her horn, she fought a shiver; her horn was sensitive, and though she had gotten used to the feeling of hair framing it, it still sometimes got to her.

Max was looking her in the eye as she talked. She had beautiful emerald eyes, and they really captivated him. He then noticed them shift in and out of focus. Looking up, he saw that she was adjusting her mane, and the strands were brushing her horn.

"Interesting. Looks like I am not the only pony with...sensitivity. I will have to remember that for later." He thought with a grin. Eventually they made it to the inn in question.

"Well, let me thank you in advance. I have been meaning to have this done, but I ma never able to do this on my own." He said cheerfully.

"Let me test a theory." He thought. He turned towards the door, brushing his wing against her horn as he did. He made sure to look casual, like he didn't notice. But he was watching out of the corner of his eye to see what happens.

Button had been magically digging through her bag to find her room key when Max decided to try his 'experiment'; when that wingtip brushed over her horn, the key clattered to the ground, a sound very much like a 'meep' escaping. Button sat back on her flanks as she raised her hooves to her horn, her face dark blue as she blushed.

"Gotcha." Max thought. He immediately turned around, concern on his face.

"Oh sweet Celestia I wing-smacked you didn't I? I'm terribly sorry." He said. He wasn't faking completely. He was a little concerned for the fall. He helped her up. grabbing her keys with his wing and handing them to her, an apologetic smile on his face.

"If that's the reaction to just a wingtip brushing her horn, what would happen if I actually massaged it?" He found this quite fascinating, and was interested to learn more. But that would come later.

Button smiled as she got back up, taking the key with magic. "I-it's okay. You didn't mean to, after all." She was completely unaware he had done it on purpose, opening the door and letting him in before following. The room was simple, yet pretty and elegant. It had a fluffy bed, a nice bathroom, and even a kitchenette. A table and chairs at the window had been converted into a working space for the unicorn. "Make yourself comfortable, Max." At ease once more, Button moved to put her saddlebag near the table, lifting it off.

"Excellent. She suspects nothing. Alright, as soon as the preening is complete, I think I will try a...bolder test. But she cant catch on. Not yet." Max went to a nearby chair and took a seat, wings extended out, draping over the chair. He was getting a bit lost in his thoughts, and when that happens, it takes a lot to get him back into reality.

"Okay! Preening..." Hope I remember how to do this.   After rubbing her hooves together, Button moved her muzzle to one of Max's wings. The feathers were a mess, but after a moment of getting comfortable, the unicorn was expertly preening his wings, careful not to bump her horn against them as she moved. That was for his sake more than anything, the point of the horn still able to poke rather uncomfortably.

"So if I can somehow find a way to pay her back using the horn thing, without it looking like THAT, then ma-" His thoughts were cut off by the preening that initiated behind him. He immediately melted in the chair, a shiver sent through his spin, and a shaky sigh coming from his mouth. He twitched whenever her horn poked him. It didn't hurt, it felt as good as anything else. By the end of the preening, Max had lost all strength in his body, and when she was finally done, he melted out of the chair like pudding. He simply lied their, on her floor, his entire body twitching slightly, with the biggest grin on his face. If you saw him in the street like this, you would swear he was dead. Quite the opposite in fact.

Button lowered herself to her stomach so she was level with him, biting her lower lip. "Um... Was that good?" She smiled hopefully; it had been so long since she last preened a pegasus. Starry did it herself, and was so darn proud of it that Button didn't have the heart to ask if she needed help. "I think maybe I'm a bit rusty..."

Eventually, Max regained his ability to speak. He usually tried to be proper, but his mind was completely thrown into disorder. Glorious disorder.

"T-that...was better than sex." He stuttered out finally. That statement would make more sense of he wasn't a virgin, but he couldn't imagine a better feeling, so that's the statement he went with. He was slowly regaining feeling throughout his body, but was not ready to stand.

Button blushed deeply at the statement, but smiled. Reaching up with a hoof, she gently stroked his mane, humming softly. The comforting motion was often done for her when she as a filly, even after she'd done something wrong. She was content to lie there on the floor with Max till he could move again, since she was to blame for him being like this.

Something about this moment was just perfect. Max found it odd that he was having this moment with a mare that he just met yesterday, but after what she just did, he would propose marriage if he had a horn ring in him.

"That's what unicorns use right? I don't know, probably should look into that in case I end up in that situation."

He finally had enough strength to get to his hooves, but he didn't. Not right away. He wanted this moment to go on for a little while longer. Finally he began to stand. This time, the brunt of his wing came and brushed over Button, near the entire wing came over her horn, but it was a legitimate accident this time.

The unicorn would have stood herself, had his wing not suddenly enveloped her hoof. Button's green eyes went wide, the mare letting out a shuddering sigh as she lowered back to the floor, her cheeks deep blue. Unicorn horns were often sensitive, some more than others. Maybe this is why mama and papa got together...The thought is fleeting as a small smile curled her lips, eyes closing. "S-sorry... Just need a moment..."

Max looked over at Button when he heard her sigh in an unusual fashion. She appeared to be immobilized, similar to how Max was not 2 minutes ago.

"That's more sensitive then I thought. Maybe now id the time to pay off the debt." He debated it, looking down and seeing her eyes closed with a smile on her face. Eventually he came to a conclusion.

"You seem to have a bit of...sensitivity in the horn area." Max said, faking a surprised tone.

"So, just to be sure, you find pleasure when I do this?" He said, sweeping his entire wing across her horn.

"Well, this should be interesting."

"Y-yes!" The word is a near squeal, the unicorn covering her horn with her hooves to keep it from being teased further. "All unicorn horns h-have some sensitivity... It c-can lead to accidental casting if a pony isn't careful..." Like this, her forelegs hid her face, which was good; Button was certain she was blushing to the roots of her mane.

Now Max thought hard about what to do next about this horn development. After careful consideration, deep thought into outcomes, and self reflection, Max came to a sound plan of action.

"Here, if you will allow me try something, I think I can repay you for the preening." He said with a nervous edge.

 

6 MINUTES LATER

 

Max wasn't aware that a spell existed to change the color of a ponies coat, but here he was, with purple feathers and a bright red coat. His mane was changed to a light blue, and his tail was yellow.

So...how did I do?" If she felt a fraction of what he felt from preening, then he considered it a success.
