I'm pretty meh about labels. When telling others about it I tend to just say Im a fan of the show. Just as I say im a fan of Star Trek instead of saying Im a trekkie or trekker, apparently there is a debate about that.  If someone says I'm a brony...well they are techniqly right as it is a lable that refers to someone who enjoys the show. Just as if they were to label me a Trekkie/Trekker or Whovian they would be correct, though I might not state it quite in the same manner. Its only when a label is used as derogatory that I start to get angry.

Mostly, I don't care. But the word "brony" has such a negative connotation on it, I understand why people don't want to associate themselves with the fandom. I know I don't want to be associated with it all the time. I dislike the word itself though.

I don't really care one way or the other, brony or fan it makes no difference to me because they basically mean the same thing. Sure brony refers to a fan of a particular show about cartoon ponies, but so long as we all know what we are talking about I see no reason to really sweat the small stuff.

Same here.
