If you need me ill be by the fire or out here." Walking towards the fire. Taking a seat moving another piece of wood into the fire and checking the tea.

Gearbox slid his goggles back on as he sat down next to plague. He felt so tired, but he couldnt sleep. He turned to plague.

"I dont suppose you have anything that would help me sleep, would you, doctor?" He didn't remember the last time he slept well, as he often stayed up late, and for many reasons. When he took his goggles off he would always look tired, but rarely he felt tired.

Plague looked at Gearbox, "I do just need to brew it up." Grabbing a small pot. Placing it on the fire and pouring some water into the pot. "We must wait for the water to boil before I can finish it." Putting his hoof on his head and letting out a sigh of stress.

Gearbox sighed with plague.

"I'm tired, plague." He whispered. "So very tired. I dont remember the last time i slept well. I stay up so late." He put his goggles on his head since he faced away from everyone. His eyes were puffy and red, and he almost showed his age. He sighed again.

"Do you ever get so tired, plague?"

"I'm tired Gear...I'm afraid to sleep anymore." Pouring a small vial of a strange liquid and throwing some mint leafs into the pot. "You must sleep Gear or your sanity will fade away." Staring into the pot as he steered the water. "Did you notice I don't have a bed in here?"

"I felt i wouldnt mention it." Gearbox sighed, brushing his hair back. "If im going to sleep then you are too." he stretched his arms.

"Hopefully we can both find sleep we havent had for a while." He held his goggles in his hooves, looking at the reflection of his eyes and face in the glass.

Wheatley walked into the cave and saw how quiet things were.

 

"Hello, we're back."

 

He looked at Kyznetsov and said "Maybe he drank to forget all this drama for a while, we really need to figure out what is going to happen to us in the future" He said while sitting down

 

"But i'm too tired to think right now, have a good night"

Plague shook his head, "I don't think i'll sleep this night. I'll just guard the cave until day." Pouring the liquid into a cup and handing it to Gearbox. "Go rest I'll see you in the morning." Walking to the entrance of the cave looking at the darkness in front of him.

Novella started pacing and humming, having nothing else to do. She wasn't tired and had too much on her mind to read. She stopped pacing for a moment and then started thinking again. She sped up her pace and kept humming so she wouldn't have to put any thought in answering the many questions on this adventure swirling around in her mind. She didn't want to think any more, well at least not at that moment. She just wanted to relax a little. Well as much as you can relax with what had been going on.

As gearbox drank from the cup plague gave him, he looked at the eyes reflection in his goggles. He never wanted to be mysterious, to be hidden.

And as much as he would want to let his eyes be free, he didn't want to have to explain that same story and be related to those same people every time. He asked himself if it was worth it, to hide his eyes and part of his identity.

He dicided one day he would, perhaps on this trip. But at the right moment, not now, when everyone was tired or stressed

When it was calm again, one at a time he would reveal his identity.

But for now, it was time to sleep.

"Are you alright?" Asking very calmly. Turning his back to the openess of the forest he watched Novella pace back and forth. "Can I be of service?" Eyeballing the strange pony that always took notes or was writing something. Feeling a chill run up his back he walked closer to her as he looked behind him.

@, Novella turned, startled. There was a dark and evil glint in her eyes for a moment, but only for a moment. She sighed as thoughts piled back into her mind one by one.

 

"I'm fine. I'm not good at talking to other ponies though, so I don't think I should right now. I don't sleep so I guess I'll just do this all night...Pace back and forth. Try not to think..." She does a kind of shrug somehow. "The usual I guess..."

Plague nodded, "Alright...If you need me i'll be outside waiting for sun rise." Disappearing into the darkness a crow flew in and watched over his cave.

 

"Also I was never fond of talking to others either." A voice whispered to her.

 

Outside a cold breeze rolled across his back. Walking up to a tree he noticed a glow plant, "I've never seen anything like this..." Staring with curiosity.

Compass was very tired. She hadn't noticed it before but now it was the only thing she could think of. She was unsure if she was needed for anything, so she asked: "Is there anything I can do to help? I'm really tired though, and I don't think we managed to bring any coffee beans to shore."

Plague picked the strange plant and walked back to the cave. Walking past Compass and Novella sitting on the rock he placed the strange glowing plant on the floor, "Hmm...maybe the glow is a sign of poison...or could it be used for medicine?" Talking to himself out loud.

@, Following the ponies entering the cave Selune seeked out to see what was going on. It was a little hard to see up until she got tired of the dark and lit up the area a little. Well of course there were some lights inside already but having one portable was a great relief. "Has anyone explored this cave? Doesn't it seem odd to you guys that this cave was un-inhabited? Maybe we should look out more thoroughly."

Compass awoke from her "trance". "I agree with Selune." she mumbled drowsiliy. "Plauge? Is this the end of the cave, or is there more?"

Compass hit herself on the head a few more times before continuing. "If there is more to this cave, there's a chance something, or some pony is there, and may get angry at us."

Plague stopped studying his plant and quickly answered Compass, "I've explored a little but not fully. We don't want to awake anything that could bring harm to us." Getting nervous as they wished to explore the cave. "I'll send my crows to explore just get some sleep and if you need help sleeping drink the stuff I made." Quickly sending one of his crows.

"Plague... maybe i should go in too once your crows are done. I have the feeling that much of this area is shrouded by illusionism magic. We have already established the fact that we are not alone right here and something is hiding this island deliberately from the outside world. If you find anything please tell us."

Plague sighed, "You might not want to look back there just yet. You don't want to be sticking your nose into unknown things." Keeping his eye on her.

 

I need to move the supplies in the morning so she doesn't find what i'm hiding from them. The only one that could understand would be Gearbox or maybe Compass. Maybe if one of them knew about my insanity problem. His eyes starting to give out on him.

Compass nodded. " Hmm. Maybe you do have a point. On the other hand, it might wake up when our guard is down and eat us." she responded. "Or maybe just the soup." She added, for no apparent reason.

 

Compass suddendly noticed something very odd. She, and everypony else had dust on them that came from the cave. She knew that the rocks that make up caves on sea level in Equestria are not dusty. "Uh, guys. Have you noticed the amount of dust in this cave? It's not supposed to be that way, we're on sea level and the air is too humid. It must be another one of those weird things. "

 

"Or maybe my vision is blurry. I don't know."

"Your becoming paranoid just sleep we can explore this island in the morning." Putting his hoof on his head. Starting to sway from the lack of sleep he tried to shake it off but he couldn't stop the tiredness from getting the best of him.

 

Can't fall asleep now...mustn't show them how weak i really am...but I'm to tried to do anything. He thought to himself as his eyes closed.

Compass smiled. "Chee, thanks. I've never been the one to stay up late. Make sure to wake me up if something happen. I don't want to be the pony left on the sinking Coltanic. Compass grabbed a large leaf from outside, levitated it on to the floor, and attempted to fall asleep, with plenty of success.

Plague could feel his eyes getting heavy and everything started moving in slow motion. Leaning against the cave wall he started to pass out. Dropping a piece of paper which seemed old and was a little burnt. Passing out he left his guard down leaving the cave open to be explored, but there were a few glowing eyes coming from outside the cave.

@, Noticing him slipping away to unconsiousness she decided to stand guard before him. She felt the alien presence from within the cave. She had gotten enough sleep for her and she didnt want Plague to just stand all alone... afterall he needed his friends.
