Is this forum worth it?

I've just spent some time on another pony forum, and sadly enough, I've got no interest in posting there anymore. The members are rude and disrespectful, and basically embody the complete opposite of what bronies should be. So give me a reason why I should stick around here. Honestly, my first encounter with the brony community has been overall negative, and I'm debating saying "screw the community" and just staying out of it while staying a personal brony. Perhaps you can change my mind.

First off, welcome to the forums.

 

The people here are awesome and nice. I'm sure this forum is a lot better than the one you were on, not only in the way it looks and functions, but also by the way the people here are.

 

There's tons of places to talk in, not only about MLP, but about pretty much anything.

 

I's definitely recommend at least trying to post in each board before you make a decision whether or not you want to leave.

Well, I really am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience elsewhere. There is a fair share of rude and disrespectful baronies out there.

 

But, welcome to the forums here, which are just FILLED with kind and generous baronies. This is the best Brony site I have ever been on... in fact it is one of the few dates that I actually use regularly because the people here are so nice compared to everywhere else.

I personally had a very similar experience when I first tried joining MLP boards, but this forum was infinitely better than any of the others I joined. I'd encourage you to poke your head into various threads and just explore for a bit. Hope you decide it's worth your time

This has to truly be one of the nicest forums on the entirety of the interesting, so I see no reason to not want to be here.

Like others said, I was lucky to first come here before coming to a different forum, because of the negative reactions I've personally seen.

 

Overall, this forum doesn't have a thing called negativity, even Discord himself wouldn't be able to start chaos here. Hope you got that

Well, that's overwhelmingly nice to hear! I'm surprised, since most large forums tend to have people who end up stuck up. It's part of the reason why I left forums and went onto wikis. But that's a whole 'nother story. I have no need to advertise the site I work for around here, anyway.

Hey there, sorry to hear about your past experiences with the other pony forum, it's a shame to hear about bronies with a bad attitude >.< I thought bronies were the opposite of rude and disrespectful.

Anyways, these forums are much different then the way you described the other forum, here we have extremely nice and friendly members, moderators, admins who are basically active 24/7. If you need to ask a question, need any help, have any troubles then someone will definitely try to help you out.

This is by far the best MLP community on the web. We have standards, for one.   

 

If you give us a chance, you'll quickly see how friendly and caring our members are. I'm proud to say that MLP Forums demonstrates the best of the Internet, standing in direct contrast to the less savory areas. Yeah, we have the occasional troll or douchebag, but we love and tolerate the shit out of them quickly enough. We also donated nearly $2000 to charity. How many other sites are willing to go that far to help the community? 

 

But yeah, give us a chance. You won't regret it!

The only way you're going to know is through in the course of posting and getting familiar with the other members in regular conversation. What you just described is the short version of why I left my last forum. And when I left them to come here, I didn't bring any of my old rivalries or grudges with me, nor did I form any preconceptions about what I'd find here. While this forum has its undesirable elements like any other, the overwhelming majority of my interactions have been positive, and I've been treated better than I ever could have hoped for by the other members. The same can be said for you, but only if you refuse to live in the past. Your experiences here will by and large be whatever you make of them.
