The royal barracks was busy as usual as guard ponies rushed in and out. There was another Barrack adjacent to this that seemed lifeless. A Guard pony casually walked in and approached a desk that had a name card reading Brigadier General Apollo. 

"Sir, the drafts have been sent out. Are you sure this will work?" The guard pony asked.

"It will work, and if it doesn't i will make it work over there dead bodies." Apollo said gruffly. He then trotted to the front entrance of his barracks and awaited the arrivals. 

They better show up on time or by Celestia's beard they will feel pain.

Diego, a dark red and indigo patched unicorn with a black mane and tail, got his draft that very day. He read it carefully, and when he reached the end of it, he immediately began to pack a few items into saddlebags. He had no thought of disobeying the draft; it might give his life some purpose, which it didn't have at the moment.

 

As a general rule, the ponies who lived where Diego did hated and feared him cuz of his talent, which was chaos magic. It was in no way compariable in power to Discord's, yet it reminded ponies of it and they acted accordingly by outcasting him from society. This drove Diego to find solance at the bottom of a cider bottle.

 

Diego slung the saddlebags on to his back and used his magic to teleport himself to the front entrance of the royal barracks. He looked about to see if anypony else was there.

Apollo noticed a pony who wasn't in guard uniform and deduced that it was one of the ponies that was drafted. 

"You over there! Are you here on the demand of a draft?!" He shouted as he motioned the pony to come closer to him. Apollo wore armor similar to the guard ponies. The differences could be easily spotted. The armor was black instead of white and the overall appearance looks sleeker than the bulky one of the regular guards.

Amita a white colored Pegasus Pony wearing a steel helmet, flowery necklace, and golden colored boots. Got her draft on that day she opened it reading:

 

"Your services are requested by the royal guard. You will be reporting to Apollo. Failure to report will result in your incarceration."

 

"So this is the draft" she thought to herself. She packed her saddlebags and flew off to see Apollo at the royal barracks. As she arrived to her destination she looked around to see the sights and see who was around.

 

Amita was the type that would help anypony...That is if she felt they had the right ideas about there Truths.

As Apollo was ready to adress the dark red pony he spotted another pony coming in

"You there! Are you here as per the instructions on the draft?" Apollo said feeling like he already knew the answer.

He looked over the two civilians thinking that he had a hard task ahead.

Diego replied, "That's right. Tho why anypony would want somepony like me on their team, I haven't a clue." He felt that the sooner somepony could tell him what this was all about, the better. The unicorn stallion started a bit when a white pegasus mare arrived. He wondered just how many ponies had been sent the draft.

Amita replied "Yes I am here on instructions according to the draft." What she wanted now was somepony to tell her what was going on. Why were her and the other pony standing near her sent there? How many other ponys were sent this same draft and for what purpose? She hoped that the questions would be explained soon. For now all she could do was wait.

Apollo frowned.

"Good. You are both here to serve Equestria in its time of need. I shall brief you on more when the rest of you shows up." Apollo said as he looked in the sky.

If they dont come soon then their plots are headed for jail.He thought. The day was still young and Guard ponies were coming and going.

In a cabin in the hills of northern equestria sat a built brown pony hunched over a large table covered with maps of equestria, scrolls and bits of parchment. Thane Looked up from the scrolls he was studying at the sound of a letter coming through the door of his cabin. He trotted over to the door and observed the telegram. "the royal barracks call for aid hmm, I have not herd from the royal guard for a century or more. If a soul is in need of my sword I am honoured to accept their call." he threw on  his manticorn fur cloak and belt and trotted slowly into his own armoury. Right at the back of the chamber of blades there layed a box. He opened the lid to reveal an elaborately designed long sword. It was gently slid into its holster on his belt. Then went forth into the snow to seek out the leader of the guard General Apollo.
