Star Rain set Ruby gently down on the ground and stopped her magic. She looked emotionless as she looked at Flare. "I never want to do that again..." she muttered. She began to follow Corona, but then she heard wings flap and saw Flare leave. "Wait! Flare..." she called, but her voice didn't reach him. "Well that's real nice of you! Flare is just mad at you now!" Ruby sneered, seeing that she seemingly killed any chance of anything between Star and Flare. Star ignored them, teleported her groceries to her home, and walked away with her head down. The laughs followed her all the way home.

 

As she passed by Flare's home without realizing it was his, Star began to sing a little loudly. She was oblivious to what she was doing, only knowing that she was headed home and that the big bottle of milk might've split open.

Music's a great way to advance a plot and convey emotions in my opinion. I'm waiting for Corona to reply right now, so I can't say anything at the moment )

Flare began playing a song by Nightwish called "The Escapist" and sang few of the lyrics. "Who's there, knocking at my window, the owl and the dead colt, this night whispers my name. All these dying ponies" Flare continued playing then stopped playing as he heard somepony singing he looked out the window to see Star Rain singing. "I feel like suck an idiot right now" Flare said as he opened his window then thought. "Shes probably angry at me now...best not speak to her" Flare closed his window and closed the blinds. "A nightingale in a golden cage that's me locked inside this confusing maze" Flare silently sang. "Wont somepony make this heavy heart light and it all leads to this lullaby"

Corona sniffled and whipped her tears away with her soft feathers. "I...I'd like that Sterling. Let's find a place to sit and eat." Corona walked around the park before she found a large tree that gave plenty of shade. Corona pulled out the blanket and set out some sandwiches and gave her and Sterling something to drink. Corona giggled "This is nice Sterling. I'd say this officially our first date." Corona looked at the spread and let out a sigh. "If only I'd had enough bits left to buy some flowers it would've been perfect." Corona looked in her bag seeing the vase she brought from home just in case she had managed to get flowers.

Sterling could really feel comfort as he sat calmly under the shade of one of the large maple trees. As he ate his lunch with Corona, he felt more and more enchanted as Corona officially called this meeting their first date. He replied with a happy sigh, "Yes Corona... yes it is... I'm so glad we're alone right now. With these delicious sandwiches..." as Sterling continued to eat Corona's sandwiches, he recalled a song he heard while his parents were still living in Manehattan. He then spoke to Corona, "You know Corona, I just realized... I first met you in a crowded classroom... yes it wasn't at night, but it was so... enchanting... it reminds me of a song I heard with my parents in Broadhay back in Manehattan. Would you like me to sing it to you?"

Star Rain turned suddenly in time to get a glimpse of Flare peeking out and closing the window and shutting the blinds.  He hates me now... I just know it... She began to cry loudly and run home, only to quickly get tired and walk slowly. It was lucky nopony seemed to notice or even bother coming out, but she wouldn't see them anyways.

Corona giggled, blushing at Sterling's statement. "I...I would love to hear it Sterling. Corona started to play with her tail. She was head over hooves in love with Sterling. Just being around him made her heart flutter and with him sitting so close to her it was making her knees shaky. Corona heard Sterling clear his throat and readied to sing for her. It was so romantic for Corona she couldn't stop messing with her tail.

Flare decided to lay in his bed. "After what happened today...they must hate me now" Flare said as his sister knocked on his door. "Go away" Flare retorted. "Flare come on whats wrong" his sister said as she opened the door. "Its nothing...juts nothing" Flare said staring at his ceiling. "Listen Flare...I know whats wrong if you tell h-" "ITS TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW....after what happened at the park..." Flare interrupted as he gave the signal with his hoof for his sister to leave. "Fine..if you wont tell her then you wont be happy" his sister said as she left and went to her room. "I try my hardest to make sure people dont fight...and they fight...i try to control my anger...it get control of me...I finally find somepony I like...and I go ahead and screw my chances up to be with her again" Flare said as as a tear fell from his eye.

Although he didn't have an orchestra or piano to accompany him as he cleared his throat, he felt a sense of confidence ringing in him as he began to sing. Corona looked so attentive and loving towards Sterling. It made him so delighted that he felt a sense of giddiness and twinkle as he went through the high and low notes of the song. He never felt this confident singing in front of anypony before, and this moment made him even more ecstatic!

 

As Sterling finished, he ended with a huge smile. He was feeling just as ecstatic as Emile when he met Nellie, as Mr. von Trapp when he met Maria, and as Mongkut when he met Anna! It was to him, the best day of his life! He was in love, and he wasn't ashamed to show it!

'Velocity watched the battle through what vision he still had, his one eye filled with blood. The Element Bearers began to charge the magical artifacts, The Demon shouted for his horde to stop them. Sentinel Velocity watched helplessly as the hordes of darkness flew towards the Bearers. It seemed all of this would be in vain after all...

Velocity's comm crackled, and a voice came through, "Magister Squadron, reporting in! Sorry we're late!"

More started to come through, "Scuto Squadron here, looks like you guys could use a hoof!"

"Hastati Squadron! You guys look like crap."

More voices flooded through as scores of Raptors appeared out of the sky, barreling directly into the Demon's army with devastating effect. Scuto Squadron surrounded the Bearers, setting themselves up as a living barrier of steel shields and electrified pikes.

Hastati, Magister and countless other squadrons began to disperse over the battlefield, engaging in skirmishes all around.

Velocity faltered, and his barrier around The Demon crumbled as the stallion fell heavily to one side, his helmet and mask falling from his head and rolling away.  The Sentinel looked up at the sky, still smiling, unable to speak as his eyes slowly closed...'

 

 

Saronyx gave a long suffering sigh as he was broken out of his creative immersion by somepony crying. He set his pencil down against his word covered notepad. The dark blue Pegasus looked down from his cloud perch as a mare went sprinting away from a house, the source of the crying. He raised an eyebrow slightly, watching her go before picking up his notepad and pencil, storing them in his saddle bags before lifting off the cloud and flying after her. Saronyx waited until she stopped running, apparently out of energy before swooping silently down and landing a few feet from her, "Are you alright?" He asked.

 

The stallion felt he already knew the answer, but he asked anyway, as he could think of nothing else to say.

Corona's heart beat faster and faster as she listened to Sterling sing. tears ran down her flushed cheeks,and they were tears of joy. Once Sterling was done Corona scooted closer to Sterling and kissed him softly on the cheek. "That was beautiful Sterling. Noponies ever sang to me before, I'm really happy I found you." Corona said staring into his eyes.

Star Rain was only a few feet away from her house before seeing a blue pegasus land in front of her. By that point, she had recovered but she still didn't want to talk with anypony. So she just walked around him and ignored him before going into her house.

 

Inside, her father was picking some stuff up. He looked up in puzzlement at the sight of his daughter who seemed to have been crying. "Something wrong?" he asked concernedly. Star said nothing in reply, only walking shakily into her room and hiding under her blanket. Why... why... why... when I was just beginning to have fun with others for the first time ever... I guess society really is nothing but a pain...

As Sterling finished singing, he approached Corona softly and tenderly as she gave Sterling a soft kiss on the cheek. His face was awestruck after the kiss. His smile was wider than ever, his eyebrows were raised higher than ever, and his eyes opened wide. 'I've... I've... I've... just been... kissed... by a mare... for the first time in my life! All this in just two days of being in Baltimare! I can't believe this! I'm so happy! My day is complete!' thought an ecstatic Sterling as he lay frozen in his position. He could only ponder what would lie ahead as Sterling looked deep into Corona's eyes...

"That answers that question." Saronyx said simply as she walked around him and entered the house.

 

He looked at the home for a few seconds before taking note of the address, and lifting himself back into the air, flying back to the home the mare had been running from. Landing, Saronyx glanced up at the building, his eyes partially narrowed. Whatever it was about this home that had set the mare off, he wasn't seeing it. But then again... There was a dance coming up at the school or something, wasn't there? Maybe that was it. Saronyx shrugged, taking note of the address once more before lifting himself back into the air and pushing a cloud above the center of the street and setting himself down on it, pulling his notebook and pencil out of his saddle bags once more and looking at the writing on the page, "Alright... Now where was I..?"

Corona couldn't stop herself from blushing heavily while her and Sterling looked into her eyes. It was ruined when she felt an acorn hit her head. Turning around she saw her mother giggling at the sight, she told Corona that she still had chores to get done. Corona gave her mother a pout and spun her head around."Sorry Sterling but I gotta go I'll stop by tonight so you can show me what you've been wanting me to see OK." Corona gave him a warm smile and started packing stuff up. Before she left though she turned and gave Sterling another kiss on the cheek. "Thank you Sterling I had a wonderful time today." Corona blushed, fiddling with her hooves before flying off with her mother.

Regal had just placed everything where it should.. Regal was walking back to the group from his house.

He was happy to play with his new friends. He could hear some pony singing. looking around Regal saw Star walking on the other side of the street.

"Hey Star" he called out to her. she didn't hear him. He could see that something was wrong with her. -I think she's sad- he thought to him-self. He crossed the road to her. "Hey Star what's wrong? are you Ok?" Regal was unsure what to do to make her happy, but he was willing to try to help her.

Sterling was still in awe and shock as he watched Corona fly away with her mother. Her mom had been giggling at the sight, which left Sterling even more embarrassed as he blushed more strongly than ever. 'She... she... kissed me again... She's so wonderful...' Sterling then stood up and began to trot home. That was, until he heard a few stallions laughing and whistling at him. They weren't bullies. Little did Sterling know though that they were the gossiping type. They loved to sneak on other ponies' businesses, especially ones involving love. They didn't bother Sterling too much because all that mattered to him was that he had somepony who loved him... Corona... he sighed at the thought as he walked home, excited to tell his parents everything that happened and to prepare the thing he wanted to show Corona...

It was almost an hour of laying down and staring at the wall before Star Rain decided to apologize. Ripping out a page from her sketchpad, she wrote:

Sorry for levitating Ruby off of Corona when the two started to fight. I only wanted to protect a friend. Heck, I don't even think I inflicted much harm on her, as it was simple levitation and nothing more. If Ruby had cornered me into a wall or something, it'd be a different story. Also, I don't let out my true power unless the situation calls for it.

 

Anyways, sorry I was violent, sorry I wasn't ignoring them, sorry that I got you angry, sorry that I ruined EVERYTHING. But you most likely hate me now, so why even bother accepting this? I'll be surprised if you even bother to reply to me and accept my apology!

Flare felt something appear on his face and opened his eyes to see the letter and read it. After he finished reading it he turned it around and saw the picture and he sighed he grabbed a pen that was near by and got a piece of paper out.

No, I should be sorry I let my anger get control of me. To tell the truth I was just tired of ponies fighting and when things started to look like they got out of hand I just snapped. Its not your fault its mine and if you dont wanna see me again I'll understand, I dont hate you...I hate my self for making you sad.

Flare saw Derpy out side and grabbed both letters and went out side. "Derpy can you send this letter to this address please" Flare said giving Derpy the letter he wrote and showed the other letter with the address on it. Derpy agreed and flew off even though he knew he could take it to Star Rain. "Hopefully she forgives me...its not her fault its mine" Flare said to himself.

Corona got home and started working on her chores with all sorts of excitement. Stopping every now and then to tell her mom and dad about what happened. On e Corona was done with her chores she went up to her room for a nap until it would be later when she would be going over to Sterling's house.

-Well i tried to help- Regal thought to himself. emotions are a difficult thing to understand

"Well I could go home and try learning to cook on my own" Regal thought it over "well if it burns it burns" he smiled at that thought and walked back home. His first try was simple muffins. that was burned into a brick 

"Um where did i go wrong?" his second try was soup, sadly he forgot to buy flavoring. so he dumped that.

The final thing he did was pour him self cereal. -Well at least i can do this right- he though to himself sadly.

Snowdream saw the fight between her friends and Ruby and watched as her friends scattered in different directions, almost all of them upset. She sighed to herself, and not really seeing any point in announcing her departure she slowly started to walk home, her head down.

I just want to spend time with my friends that doesn't involve them fighting all the time! I give up! Maybe I can just spend the rest of my life without friends, camping in my room. she thought with a sigh.

As Sterling returned home and approached the living room, his parents gave a smile from their couch and his mother began to speak, "Hello Sterling! We just wanted you to know that we actually saw you with Corona today! You and Corona were so cute together, and your voice was so fantastic! I knew you had a singing voice Sterling, but you just wouldn't believe me!" His father also added, "Yes indeed we saw you son. You two remind me of the day I sang to your mother as she sat on the bench in Central Park in Manehattan... I would never have thought that our advice to you about mares would pay of so soon." Sterling blushed once more as his parents told of their story. Sterling chuckled sheepishly as he replied, "Well... you see, our friends had a fight today. It looked like bullies, but I wasn't sure. Things got ugly and it was only us two left, so we ate lunch together and that's when you saw me." 

 

His parents were slightly disappointed about the fight, but realizing that Sterling played no role, Snap Shot comforted him. "Son. Mares like to fight. Heck, your mother was involved in many fights against her bullies. She was a tough one, right honey?" "Oh sweetie. You make me sound so bad... But yes, that is true Sterling. It's a part of high school life. It's up to you to not get embroiled into them and let the mares have their own space sometimes." replied the mom. Sterling nodded in agreement and then replied, "Thanks for the advice mom and dad. I have something to prepare for Corona too because she's coming over tonight!" His parents were excited at the prospect and spoke happily, "She's coming over? That's great! I'm preparing a delicious meal tonight! You'll have to wait and see what it is!" Sterling replied as he rushed to the piano in his music room, "Ok mom! I gotta prepare right now, so I'll be in the music room if you need me!"

Corona finished up with the rest of her chores and started getting ready. After getting a bath and drying her mane and tail she put her mane back up in a tail. This time she had a silver ribbon tying it up with two crescent moons on the ends of the strands. Lastly she put on a sky blue dress her mother got her for christmas. Corona was nervous, she wanted to go so bad but she couldn't move that was until her father nudged her out the door.

 

Corona walked down the street till she got to Sterlings house and knocked on the door. She wasn't surprised when it was Sterling's father who greeted her and invited her in. Corona introduced herself to Sterling's mother and waited patiently for him to come down.

By this time of night, Sterling was already finished dinner and he was busy making himself look neat in front of Corona. He first took a shower right after dinner was done. He made sure he took the nicest smelling shampoo he could get from his bathroom and made sure his hair smelled as clean as possible After bathing, he found a nice tuxedo that went well with his crimson body. His parents made him wear it for formal occasions, but in this case, Sterling wore it voluntarily. 

 

By the time Sterling was finished putting his suit on, his father walked up to his room and called him, "Oh Sterling! Corona's here. Why don't you show her around the house first before you "show her" what you've got prepared?" Sterling nodded and said in reply, "Sure Dad, I'll be coming down now." As Sterling walked down the stairs, he saw Corona looking her finest since they first met. He noticed the sky blue dress and it really made him excited. 'Oh Corona... you've really outdone yourself here. Why must you always look so pretty?' thought Sterling as his thoughts neared a trance-like state.

 

He then sat on the love-couch where Corona was sitting and then greeted her with a stutter, "H-h-hey Corona... N-n-ice dress... You look... so pretty on it..." he emphasize the word "pretty", clearly unable to contain the excitement that jolted through his body. He had so much in plan for this, and he felt that all of it needed to be perfect... All of that was the dominating thought in his mind as he then asked nervously with a blush, "So... where... exactly... did you get that dress? Hehehe..."

Corona blushed deeply at Sterling's compliment and giggled at the way he was stuttering. "My mother got it for me for Christmas. I just didn't have a special occasion to wear it until tonight. You look really dashing in that tux." Corona started fiddling with her tail a sign when she was either nervous or excited. "So what was on the list for tonight Sterling?" Corona questioned, she kept looking at Sterling she'd never felt like this towards a boy before but her heart told her it was right.
