Sterling really jolted when Corona said that she only wore her dress for really special occasions. It made him blush further, realizing that Corona really did see him as a special somepony. He also blushed heavily when Corona complimented his tuxedo, especially since he didn't really like it himself. He was slightly comforted that Corona was also looking nervous with her tail fiddling because frankly, he wasn't the only one!

 

When Corona asked Sterling about his plans for tonight, Sterling suddenly jumped away from his thoughts. He then replied shyly, "Well... first off... welcome to our house... it's... it's not much, but I'll show you my room first if you want." He then led Corona to his room, which didn't have many posters like Corona's room. He wasn't much of a creative pony, so his wall only had one poster: that which showed all the baseball teams of the Equestrian league, including the Manehattan Mets and the Baltimare Orioles. He was a huge baseball fan because of his dad; it was the only sport he liked to watch. He pointed at the poster and explained, "Well Corona, my room isn't as... decorated as yours. I don't like too many cluttering things in my room. Still, that's my poster. I actually got it signed by Matt Harveigh, a young pitching starlet my favourite team: the Manehattan Mets. If you want, ...maybe... we could watch a baseball game together sometime."

Corona followed Sterling up to his room seeing how neat and tidy it was made Corona feel a little silly about a few of the messes she had in her room. She was enjoying herself none the less, mostly because she was with Sterling. Upon hearing him mention clutter she raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying I like my room messy and it's full of junk?" Corona questioned and saw the look of panic on his face. Giggling Corona gave him a gentle nudge with her wing "Relax Sterling I'm kidding. I like your room though it's calming and simple it makes me feel.....safe." Corona smiled, wondering what was next on the agenda.

Hearing Corona's response to his statement about his room's neatness made him sweat slightly; he didn't mean it that way. Besides, he liked the Wonderbolt posters. He was calmed when Corona responded by saying she was just playing with him. 'Oh... what a cute way to poke at me huh? Oh Corona...' thought a relieved Sterling as he continued to show his room off. He then pointed at the wooden shelves to the right of his bed. He opened the door to one of them and took out his microscope. He then explained, "And this, Corona, is my microscope. This was given to me by a scientist from the University of Manehattan who was friends with my dad. I've treated it like a baby, and I've been able to see all those bacteria Mr. Bio told us about from kitchen tables, toilet seats, and even my very own bed! Bacteria are indeed everywhere!"

 

He then continued, "Corona, I've always loved science. It's something I want to be involved with when I grow up. All that exploring and advancing of technology is just something I want to be involved with. I also love to care for sick ponies when I get the chance, so I definitely want to go into the medical field too. It's really hard I know, especially with all the studying I have to do, but I feel that if I can help ponies with their health problems, then I can fulfill my role in life. That's why my dad was able to get this microscope for me to toy around with. It's so much fun!"

 

He stopped for a brief moment and then asked, "What do you want do when you grow up Corona? Personally, I think you're great with weather, with all that flying and whizzing. Maybe that's what your cutie mark there means."

Corona made a gagging sound when Sterling talked about bacteria before she started giggling."I don't know what I want to do maybe I'll join the weather team for Canterlot." Corona could just see it working in Canterlot under princess Luna's order. "First I need to get better at doing my flying maneuvers so I plan on joining the flight club at school come Monday since it's club sign up day." Corona was still fascinated by Sterling's microscope. "So what next Sterling?"

As Sterling finished explaining the microscope to Corona, he couldn't help but encourage Corona onward with her intentions on joining the flight club. "Well, whatever you do, good luck with it. I'm planning on joining the science and baseball clubs. It's going to be so much fun doing scientific stuff and watching baseball matches when we have the chance." After Sterling said that, he didn't really have much else to show Corona other than the music room. He first apologized though, since he felt his house was pretty boring to her, "Well, Corona, that's most of what I have other than a few other baseball trinkets. I'm sorry if my room was boring by any means. Well, I'll show you the music room though. I want to show you something there."

 

Sterling then walked to his music room, excited to show what he was going to show her...

Ginseng, Star Rain's father, knocked on his daughter's bedroom and she allowed him to come in. She was notably calmer now, though she was still a little devastated. "Yes?" she asked, noticing something that levitating in front of him due to his own blue magic. 

 

"This came in the mail for you," he said, levitating it over to her.

 

"Hm?" 

 

Star took it and read it in under minute. She shocked that Flare really did reply back and accept her apology. She quickly snatched up the nearest pencil and wrote on the back:

Hey there Flare,

 

I didn't think you would reply and accept at the same time! Well, thanks for doing so. 

 

If possible, wanna hang out at say, an ice cream place or somewhere to eat at or anywhere else?

She then wrote down her address and sent it away to Flare. Ginseng looked at her weirdly and she spilled the beans.

Flares sister knocked on his door. "This letter is for you Flare"  Flares sister said giving him the letter. "Thanks" Flare said as his sister left and he opened the letter and smiled, He grabbed a pen and wrote:

 

Hello Star,

 

Sure we could hang out since we couldn't today after what happened I guess ill see you tomorrow.

Also about Ruby...you're not gonna like what im about to say but...I was sitting in a tree at the park enjoying the day then Ruby came by and apparently saw me and asked if I wanted to hang out. I thought this would be perfect to see if I can get everypony to be friends with you and the others but then she said something that made me panic and I started to leave and I ran into Corona when I was heading out and then...well you know what happened next.

 

Flare wrot as he remembered his sister was a unicorn. "Hey sis can you send this letter for me" Flare said as he saw his sister walk by his room. "Sure" His sister said making the letter glow then it was sent to Star Rain

Whimsey Daze sighed, and trotted towards the school campus, traveling here all the way from Dodge City. Her parents decided this move would be for the best, and quite frankly, she thought she needed to leave her old friends behind. Her hoof clops quietly echoed the front hallways, indicating she was late on her first day of school. She headed towards the front office, waiting for a late slip and a teacher to help her for her first day. Upon spotting a busy mare writing something through glass, she shyly decided to speak in front of her. 

 

"Uh... um, I am- I'm Whimsey Daze, a new student coming from Dodge City?" the mare looked up bleakly, and sighed.

 

"Yeah, yeah. I'll get you a escort." she remarked monotony.

 

Whimsey situated her bag, and sat down in a clearing right by the office with waiting chairs. She had buttons she had made and drawn digitally she put on her backpack straps, and played with them a bit, and sighed with boredom.

 

"I just hope I don't end up meeting my future enemy first..." she grunted out loud.

Corona followed Sterling into the music room and what she saw threw her for a loop. She saw tons of musical instruments in front of her. The one that caught her eye the most though was the piano sitting in the middle of the room. "Wow Sterling this piano is beautiful....do you play Sterling?" Corona's eyes lit up with excitement. "Is this what you wanted to show me?"

As Sterling walked over to the music room, he noticed Corona scouting the room in deep awe. It was huge to her, of epic proportions. There were instruments of all kinds, but the one that stood out most was the Steinhay and Sons piano as the music room's centerpiece.  Sterling heard Corona ask about the piano and whether it was what he wanted to show her. He replied, "Well Corona, that's part of it. You see, I'm a pianist. And... I don't normally play on the piano unless I want to test out the new piano, practice on it, or am really happy about something. In this case, I'm really happy about something, and I'm... I'm very happy to be with you. I... I like you Corona. It's basically a role reversal huh? Well I'll start playing for you then Corona."

 

With that, Sterling began to play the most special piece he could find in his repertoire, one that suited his feelings for Corona very well. He found a Clopin scherzo, one that was filled with anguish, but at the same time, conveyed a level of romance never before seen in any of his other pieces. He began to play as if it were a concert recital. It was very nerve-wrecking because it was the first time he would ever play on the piano in front of an audience, let alone Corona! 'Oh I hope Corona likes this...'

 

(OOC: You know, I actually play this piece. I'm playing it for a senior recital next year!)

After a few gentle lectures that went over her head, Star Rain got yet another letter from Flare. She eagerly read it and frowned a little, piecing everything together right then and there. She got out her pencil yet again and wrote:

 

Flare, did she say you two were dating or something? Now that I think about it, those weird looks she was giving must have flirting... I think. I'm not real smart on flirting and all of that. Years of me being dork hasn't done me much good in that area.

 

Anyways, awesome! I can't wait to see you again tomorrow!

P.S. This will be the last letter I send, since my magic is getting pretty exhausted right now and I'm getting a headache. Don't send anymore.

 

Star drew a peace sign along with some stars and she teleported it to him before groaning in pain at the headache she had built up.

Corona was awestruck as she listened to Sterling as he played the music for her. It made her heart soar almost like it had wings itself while he played. Corona couldn't believe that this had happened after being at school for just one day. When Sterling finally finished Corona was so happy that nothing could break it apart not even the bullies from school. "Sterling t...that was beautiful and you did this for me that's so sweet." Corona Nuzzled against Sterling's neck, she was so happy to be with him.

Sterling nodded back in sheer happiness as he finished the last Db chord at the end of his piece. He had so many more pieces he could play for her, but this definitely was the one. When Corona nuzzled him, he felt a sense of comfort and joy he never felt before. He wasn't in Cloud Nine. All this attachment, care, and love... all of it was real. He explained the piece, "Corona... I picked this particular piece because it showed the attachment I had towards you when I first saw you in History class. The high voice in that passionate section was you, and I eventually supported you from the bottom notes. Here's another piece for you. I personally love this one because of all the colours of the piano are brought out so beautifully."

 

Sterling began to play again, a piece by Maurice Raveigh. It was very different from the first piece he played. It wasn't romantic, but it was very exciting and colourful to say the least.

Corona listened as Sterling played another song for her. It made her heart jump for joy the way he doted upon her like this. Corona was overjoyed to be able to spend this time with Sterling but it couldn't last. Corona saw what time it was once he finished his second piece. "Sterling I should be getting home. Don't want dad to think we're doing something we shouldn't be." Corona giggled.

Sterling was saddened that Corona had to leave for tonight. The time flew by so quickly as Sterling toured Corona around his house. He really wanted show more, but time was running. Because of that, he wanted to give Corona something he found long ago... "Corona.  Before you go tonight, I... I want you to have this. This was really what I wanted to show you. It's a necklace. My dad was touring Canterlot to take pictures of the Cloudsdale 500 race featuring the Wonderbolts. He saved a rich Earth pony's life when she nearly fell off the railing by grabbing on her hoof. She gave this diamond necklace to my dad as a token of thanks. My mom didn't want it because she didn't like frilly things, so my dad gave it to me in hopes that I could give it to a beautiful mare like you." 

 

Sterling blushed heavily as he finished his last sentence. He placed the necklace on her neck and then complimented, "Oh Corona. You look wonderful on that necklace. My dad was right when he said the necklace was a special trinket."

Star Rain got the letter and read, immediately feeling lots of anger toward Ruby. Why in the world did she think right off the bat that Flare is her colt friend?! She was pondering that on her way to dinner. She told her father everything and he told her not to worry so much about it. Which went over her head.

Flare had to make dinner today so he made what he usually made when his parents had to work over seas...he made sandwiches. "Parents always working overseas..." Flare sighed as he ate the sandwich and went to his room "Tomorrow will be a better day...I hope" Flare said

Corona's eyes widened when she saw the necklace. She wanted to object and insist Sterling to keep in since she felt she didn't deserve it, but she couldn't bring herself to say no. Her heart beat faster when she felt Sterling put it on and compliment her. Sterling walked her to the front door and they stood on the door step together, Corona shuffling her hooves nervously. "Thank you Sterling. I had a wonderful time with you." Corona blushed, her wing raised Sterling's head up and she gave him the most gentle kiss right on his lips. It only lasted a few short moments, when she pulled away and started down the the sidewalk. Corona then took off back towards her home with the biggest smile on her face.

When Sterling gave that necklace to Corona, he wasn't aware of what he was getting himself into. As Corona walked out of Sterling's house, she gave Sterling a small kiss... on the lips. Sterling's day was complete... this kiss was something he had been dreaming about last night in his sleep, and it all came true... 'Hehehehehehehehehe... She kissed me on the lips...' thought a swooning Sterling as he blushed heavily and fainted on the doorstep as Corona waled away smiling.

Corona got home and squeed when she saw her parents, jumping on her hooves. "Well dear, how did it go with Sterling?" her mother asked, obvious with excitement. "Mom I...I...I kissed him, and not kissed on the cheek." Corona was blushing deeply. She could only wonder how it would look when they went to school on monday. Corona was falling more and more in love with Sterling and she was enjoying it. "Hmmm you and Sterling kissed? I would say you two are moving a little fast but love can't be controlled." Although Star was a little grumpy with Corona for letting it progress so fast but he knew what she was going through, he was a young stallion in love once. Corona was wondering just what was going through Sterling's mind right now and what the next week would hold for them.

 

(I'll be making a time jump to Sunday tonight at some point anyone that needs to post will need to do so tonight at some point.)

As Sterling began to awake from his fainting experience, his parents began to giggle slightly. Sterling's mother began, "Oh Sterling. We peeked and saw the kiss Corona gave you. It was SO CUTE! Reminds me of the kiss I gave your father after he saved me from those awful bullies. Remember that day Front?" Sterling's father replied with some embarrassment, "Yes... I remember that day honey... You were so cute that day after I saved you. But remember Sterling. Don't let this kissing go too far. I still want you to control yourself. You're still a young stallion who needs to learn his responsibilities and callings in life before you think about marriage. Still... Corona does seem like a very proper and kind pony for Sterling isn't she?" Sterling and his mother nodded in unison when his father said that. 

 

Now that Corona left for home, Sterling felt very... tired. He wanted to just rest and dream about all the moments he and Corona would share in the future. He and his parents exchanged good nights as Sterling went up to his room, undressed his tuxedo, and jumped into bed ready to sleep...

Corona slowly stirred from her sleep blocking out the sun again with her wings. She mad a mental note to tell her parents to re-arange he room so she wasn't in the sun every morning. Corona couldn't stop thinking about last night with Sterling. It had been an absolutely magical night. After getting a bath and freshening up she took to the sky. Corona wanted nothing more than to be with Sterling but they were having a guest over for dinner. This was one guest that she wasn't going to skip out on seeing.

Flare slowly got up from his bed after the sun was beaming right on his face. "Day time already..." Flare said as he got out of his bed then did his daily routine in the morning. "Now to head out and meet Star" Flare said as he went out of his house. "I promised her I would meet her today also"

It was the middle of the next morning. The sun was just beginning to rise, but Sterling was still asleep. He was in the middle of a dream...

 

It was late at night. Sterling entered a room... a room that glowed bright yellow by the lights of the diamond chandeliers. There were windows all throughout the room that looked onward to a glistening lake that was surrounded by lush, green trees into the night sky. At the centre of the room was a seven foot Steinhay and Sons grand piano, the largest of its kind! It was made of purely black wood, its keys glowing black and white and the metal shining from the strings. 

 

There was only one other pony inside the room, seated just a short distance away from the piano. She was wearing a glowing sky blue dress that covered her body, sporting a glistening blue and orange mane, and wearing a twinkling diamond necklace. Sterling approached the pony with a loving smile, kissed her hoof, and then approached the piano ready to play. He played the same pieces he played the past night. He noticed her loving smile tended towards him as he played. She then approached Sterling as she walked closer and closer to his side on the piano bench. When she was beside him and sitting on the bench, she gave him a kiss. After the kiss, Sterling smiled the widest smile he could give. His eyes widened and his body was shaking. He was reveling in this moment as he stopped playing.

 

In almost an instant however, a whole group of ponies of all sorts rushed up to the beautiful mare. They ripped her dress off and began to tear her apart. They destroyed her necklace, her dress, and her mane before presenting her to Sterling. They responded in unison and with a cackle, "So Sterling... You would fall in love with such an ugly, pathetic mare?! She's grey for Celestia's sake!" the other ponies began to laugh loudly, their cackles sounding like howls and screeches from wolves and cats to Sterling as they continued to push him around, "Why don't you pick somepony else to love?! She's worthless! What, you want to be worthless like her too?!" Sterling tried his best to fight back, but to no avail, "No! She's beautiful on the inside! Why doesn't anypony see it?!"   

 

The room around him began to turn an icky, oozy green as he continued to defend himself. Sterling began to cry heavily as the other ponies walked away with laughter and jeering. The piano was no longer a piano, for it had melted into ooze. The once dashing mare was now a mere puddle of grey. As Sterling looked on to the shade of grey, he cried for what seemed like an eternity. "No... no... no... why would they do something like this? Just because she's grey doesn't mean she's not capable of love!" Just then, he heard a shout, its source seemingly from the shade of grey, "No... I really am worthless... Just... leave me! Forever! I'm only grey! You only loved me because I was wearing all those dresses and necklaces! You don't love me!!" As Sterling continued to plead without avail with the shade of grey, he couldn't help but continue to cry. "No... I love you... I don't care about your shade of grey! You're beautiful to the core... why won't you see that?!"  

 

It was at that moment that Sterling suddenly awoke to the bright morning sky. He gasped for air as he pondered about his dream and awoke from bed...

 

(OOC: I've been wanting to a dream sequence like this one for a while. It feels great to finally do one.)
