"Alright" Flare said as he went up to the the tables and opened them with with a bit of a problem. "Its like these things a stuck together...at least they are not that hard to open" Flare thought as he used his wings to open the tables.

Corona chuckled watching Sterling attempt to cut the vegetables just like she'd done. "It's ok Sterling I've been doing this for a while so I know how to do it so well." Corona then looked over at Saronyx and smiled. "If you wouldn't mind you and Snow can give me a hoof and move some of the food to the tables outside." Corona picked up some of the plates with her wings and started to the back door.

Sterling was still wondering about Corona's special guest as he continued to cut more and more vegetables for Corona. Needless to say, he was getting better it as he continued to cut, although he still was a bit slow. Well, there WAS that cut he had which slowed him down, so one could say he was improving even with the cut. Nonetheless, Sterling felt a tinge of excitement to see Corona's friend. Still, a lingering thought dwelt on his mind: 'How exactly will Corona introduce us? I just hope she picks me out as her special somepony... I mean, she acted like such for a while, so she should be happy to let other ponies know...'

He mimics her action of carrying the plates in her wings, and transfers a few plates from the table to each of his wings before following her out of the house. He was intrigued as to who this special guest would be. Whoever they were, Corona seemed to think highly of them.

((Sorry for not posting. My cat died, last Wednesday, and I haven't been up to posting, I've been pretty upset, but I'm back now and that's what matters. Sorry Snowy Storm for holding you up in the roleplay.))

"Thankyou. You don't look too bad yourself." She said to him. She levitated a few of plates of food to the table to help Corona.

"Nope, Corona's really kept this one under raps. I wish she would tell us already, I'm dying to know!" Snowdream said finishing up her job of bringing out the food.

 

"The only clue she has leaked to us is that its a mare. That only narrows it down to half the population of Equestria!" Snowdream sighed.

Corona walked outside seeing that Flare and Star had managed to wet up the tables. She set food she was carrying down on the tables her mother and Saronyx doing the same. Sterling came out after them with the last bowl of food, the backyard was set for the guests and the main guest of honor. "Oh boy she's going to be here soon." Corona was jumping with excitement. She could see the questionable looks her friends were giving her but she loved it. Corona took flight and landed in the front yard after asking everypony to wait till she returned. It was maybe 20 mins before Corona stepped through the house and back outside joining the others.

 

It was then that two royal guards stepped out and stood on opposite sides of the door. Stepping out into the backyard was the one and only Princess of the Night. Princess Luna. "Princess Luna these are my new friends from school that I told you about in my last letter. They're all really great and I hope you don't care that I invited them to join them." Luna chuckled and smiled at Corona, her parents bowed to her in royal fashion Corona following suit.

Flare bowed down also in respect of Princess Luna's presence. "She's friends with Princess Luna...and shes the special guess" Flare thought as he didnt even think of looking up and being disrespectful especially to one of the princesses.

Saronyx raised an eyebrow briefly, "Well, this is a twist."

 

He bows to the Princess, flaring his wings out to either side. It was a simple gesture he always incorporated into a bow.

Saro maintains the bow for a few seconds more before standing. He gives a small salute to the guards as well.

 

His brother was a soldier. A commander, even. Leader of one the elite divisions of the Equestrian Air Guard. The guards most likely wouldn't recognize him, anyway. Saronyx wasn't well know, that was 00Pony's position.

 

But enough on that, "It is a great honor to meet you, Princess Luna."

Sterling was wondering why Corona left them for so long. It was about 20 minutes and Sterling was beginning to wonder whether her "guest of honour" would even come to their cookout. Just as he was about to complain about the guests' lack of punctuality as he walked out of the house, he caught a glimpse of purple as he turned to see the guest of honour. His mouth opened wide and his eyes shot open. 'Princess... Luna?! How did I not see this?! Corona was telling me about her when she showed her special talent to me!' thought a shocked Sterling as he bowed humbly at her presence.

@@Quilava, Snowdream's jaw dropped as she saw the princess of the night, none other than Luna herself.

She stood there for a few seconds, trying to think of an appropriate response.

 

Eventually her brain rebooted and started functioning again. She slowly bowed to the princess, completely taken off-guard by Corona's special guest.

As Sterling finished his bow to Princes Luna, he couldn't help but wonder: 'If Corona wrote letters and stuff to her, then... did she write about me? Oh my gosh, what DID she say about me? Oh I hope she writes truthfully and nicely about me. ' He then approached Princess Luna really carefully and introduced himself with apprehension, "Umm... hello... Princess. I'm... I'm Sterling. Sterling Crimson. I'm just one... of many friends who wanted to... hang out with Corona during her cookout. We're... we're sorry if we were intruding in any way..."

The Princess looked at all of the ponies around Corona and simply gave a warm smile. "Do not fret my subjects, we are quite happy to see our friend Corona with so many friends as well as a special somepony." Corona smiled, watching the guards take their posts and being such sticklers at a party. Corona introduced each of her friends pointing a wing to each one and blushed a little when she got to Sterling. "I'm so happy you could make it Luna." Corona beamed with joy. Luna walked over and greeted Corona's parents and then walked over to Sterling. "Corona has told me about you Sterling. She's quite taken with you and I hope you'll treat my friend of the night with great care."

Sterling continued to look at Luna as she proceeded towards the other ponies first. She greeted each of them with a powerful, yet amiable nod. When she got to Sterling, he blushed and smiled cheekily as Luna began to speak. After Luna spoke, Sterling thought with a glee, 'She's said some nice things about me to the Princess... wow... I'm... I'm so... honoured. This is... amazing...' Sterling began to stutter as he began to reply to the princess of the night, "Umm... umm... yes... she's quite taken with me? Umm... wow... Of-of-of course! I'll-I'll... take care of her! Yes! I... I love her!" That yes and declaration of love was particularly loud, near a shout, and Sterling squirmed with fright, worried that he offended the princess. He also gave himself a huge blush on his face as he was worried the other ponies would begin to chatter about his feelings towards Corona.

 Regal stood in awe of the princess of the night. He stood for a while before his bowed to her, but unlike his other bows, this times he bowed so low he nearly touch the floor. Corona is a student of Luna?

If Regal had known Luna was going to appear he would have brought a gift or something to show respect.

Flare stood up from hi bow that he was in. "It is such an honor too meet you Princess Luna" Flare said as he opened the last of the tables and settled them up before he tripped over him self and fell to the floor. "And now I make a fool of myself in front o f the princess"

Star Rain saw Flare bowing and turned to see who it was he was bowing to. She regarded the allicorn princess of the night with a shocked expression. She also forgot that one like herself must bow in her presence. Star was jolted out of her awe though when Flare tripped and fell. She quickly rushed over and helped him up with magic. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah I'm fine just a bit hurt after I tripped" Flare said a bit embarressed after tripping. "I'm just trying to keep my cool" Flare said as he got up and brushed himself off. "I had a friend that used to be a student and told me about Luna..." Flare said as he looked at Star Rain and smiled

Saronyx tried his best not to at least chuckle at Flare's behavior. While it was amusing, he knew exactly how he felt. He'd been that way before, in that past, when meeting someone he deemed important. It was something he learned to get over, with time, however.

 

He turns his attention to Luna, "If you do not mind my asking, Princess, and I do not wish to seem rude, but how exactly do you and Corona know each other? Forgive me again, if I sound rude for asking."

Princess Luna chuckled at everyponies gestures and bows to her. "Be at ease faithful subjects, for we are more than happy to see how much joy thou-st has brought Corona." Corona blushed when she heard the princess talk about her like that. Luna ushered everypony up and started for the table. Corona trotted over to Sterling and the others giggling, "Well guys I told you it was somepony special didn't I. Bet you never would've guessed." Corona was on cloud nine right now...if it really existed. She had her friends and her special somepony here and her mentor as well this day couldn't get any better if she tried. Corona squeed as she started making her way over to the table, her parents already making light conversation and laughing with the Princess of the Night.

Sterling made his way to the dinner tables after the princess spoke. He sat beside Corona and was very glad the seat was reserved for him. He knew that Corona met Princess Luna before she got her cutie mark, but still, he never expected Princess Luna to actually come to Corona's residence. He asked Corona with intrigue at the white dinner table, "How exactly did you get Princess Luna to come here? I mean, she's a princess! Isn't she busy with her work most of the time?"

Corona just chuckled lightly. "Luna happened to be visiting our home town trying to show everypony that she was good now. The town wasn't so receptive except for me and a few other fillies." Corona paused and looked over at Luna with a warm smile. "I wanted to do something to make her feel welcome. So that night I started moving the clouds and moisture around and made the Corona around the moon. Since then Luna and I have been friends, and she says I'm one of the few who truly understand her nights." Corona took her seat next to the Princess and waited for the rest of her friends to join them.

Sterling was amazed at the poor reception given by the ponies when Luna arrived at her home town. She created night so that the ponies could sleep well for the next day or just look out the night sky in peace. He never understood why the night was treated so poorly by many ponies alike. He then spoke in reply, "Corona. You never told me where you came from. I think I told you, but I'm from Manehattan. You see, my dad was a newspaper columnist for the sports section in Manehattan and he apparently got a raise in Baltimare. He's already started work at the Baltimare Gazette in hopes of covering the Baltimare Orioles and Ravens games during the season. He also does a lot of sports analysis. Deep down, I still feel doubtful about my dad's choice to leave Manehattan. Everything was great there... I'm not even sure why he wanted to move; we were doing so well in Manehattan."
