gaming Retro Studios Wii U Project

Retro Studios, the Nintendo developer behind the Metroid Prime trilogy and Donkey Kong Country Returns, is making a game for Wii U. It is expected to be reveal during the E3 Nintendo Direct on June 11th. There have been multiple rumors as to what the game could be, from Metroid to Star Fox to even a new IP.

WHat do you think? I think it is either Metroid or a new IP.

I once even heard that they are actually working on two projects at the same time.

If that is true I would like to see both, a new Metroid (Prime) and a new Star Fox.

If we only get one, then I pick Star Fox. It's been such a long time since the last real part.

Yeah it would be neat. I hope the game is in a genre Retro Studios hasn't touched yet. There was a recent rumor stating that it could be Star Tropics U.

I hope a new IP, it would serve the Wii U well if it got some new IPs that are actually well HEARD about. The Wii suffered a similar problem where they had these fun and great IPs but hardly anyone knew about them. Since Retro Studio is a more well known dev. for their Metroid Prime Trilogy, this would be a great chance for them to give the Wii a new, fresh IP.

It would be nice. However, given Wii U's current position, it is most likely an established IP

If it is a new IP, however, I can see a third person shooter or a western style RPG.

I could see them doing a new IP, hopefully an FPS since I think Nintendo could use one in their repetoire. I think they could make something incredible in the genre, something with actual in-depth single player and great multiplayer. A new Metroid title would rule too, Prime is over with but it doesn't have to be Prime to be another first person game from them I think, and even though I liked Other M I much prefer Retro's style of Metroid. Either way, I'm sure it'll be an incredible looking game since Retro pushes art and tech like no other on Nintendo systems, and can't wait to see it whatever it is. :D

Me neither! I expect this game to be a good showcase of the Wii U's horsepower. I think Retro's project will be to Wii U what Kid Icarus: Uprising is to 3DS.

(edited)

As much as i want Nintendo, Retro specifically to create a new IP, i can't stop think about a new Metroid with Wii U's potential. I wasn't the biggest fan of Other M, which to me created an empty hole in Metroid's development as a franchise. I don't want it to stagnate, it's a series that i wish we had more of. :l

So my position is neutral, i'm not quite sure what to expect at this point. They probably have something awesome to show for Wii U whether it's Metroid or not.

If it's a new Metroid game, eh.

If it's a new Star Fox game, I will buy a Wii U just for it. I don't care if it's like Star Fox 64, Adventures (though that's what I'd prefer), or even Assault, I just want more Fox McCloud.

Oh, and Krystal. :3
