Lycan grinned, "well....if I raise the pitch high enough, then I can make my enemies eardrums break like a wet paper bag.....but its a bit graphic......so I don't do it very often.....but besides the maiming part its also a neat party trick!" Said lycan jokingly with a smile.

 

Diamond laughed. "That does sound pretty graphic. But still...it also sounds effective." She said, shrugging. "For me...pretty much anything I do with smoke can be turned into a weapon." She blew out another puff of smoke and condensed it, shaping it into a spike before sending it flying into the ground. After the spike stabbed into the dirt, it went back to normal and disappeared in the wind, leaving a deep hole where it had hit. "Yep...anyway, here we are." She said, opening the door leading into the restaurant.

Diamond sat down at the table and picked up a menu. "Oh my the food here looks delicious...rather expensive, but that's no problem." She said, flipping through the menu as a waitress trotted over. "Good afternoon, can I get you any drinks." She asked, pulling out a notepad. "I'm fine with water thank you." Said Diamond. The waitress nodded and looked at Lycan.

Regal got tired of staying in his room. Walked out of his room and looked down the hallway. He saw a pony walking down the hallway trying to open a door. It was far to late for any normal pony to be out and thanks to the poor light in the hallway, the only thing that Regal thought of was a Thief.

"No thief shall steal from my guild!"

Lycan thought for a moment before finally answering, "I'll have some soda if you've got it I guess...." said lycan slowly, he then looked at diamond, "I used to be a heavy drinker.....so I don't drink alchohal that often.....it makes me a bit wild....trust me, its not pretty..." said lycan with a hint of embarresment.

 

"I rarely drink alcohol...and when I do its not allot, usually a glass of wine or something." She said, flipping through the menu.

After figuring out what she wanted she closed the menu and sipped her water. "So, Lycan, Tell me more about yourself...where are you from?"

Thunder looked at the orbs "w-what...no.." He turned into a lightning form and shot at regal, he was then behind regal, and he then gasped as the ritual hit his body. He felt nothing but pain. "I'm.....apart...of....fairy...tale......ACK" he was on his knees coughing. He then looked up angrily "end this before....I attack..." He said through his teeth.

Minath nodded and flew up into the city, arriving at the hotel. She went into her room and got into the shower, cleaning off all the dirt and grass from her slumber and the sparring match

Rambler watched Minath fly off and turned to head back into town.

 

*Several miles-worth of galloping later*

 

Rambler reached the town, but it occurred to him that the had no idea where Flint was. Oh well, best to start with where he'd seen him before.

After wandering around the city for a while, Flint found himself back near where he had seen Rambler before he ran off after the hissing pony. Looking around, he was surprised to see Rambler nearby.

 

"Hey, Rambler, I've been looking for the rest of the guild. Where did you run off to earlier, anyway?"

 

Rambler sighed. "The mare I was with, Minath, is afraid of fire magic. When she saw you burst into flames she got scared and ran away. She's my marefriend, so I went to go comfort her. She's really sorry about running off, though. She wants to apologize, but thought it was better if I talked to you first."

 

"Oh. Well... I guess that makes sense. I was wondering why she hissed. It's really no big deal, though. If anything, I should be apologizing to her."

 

"Maybe. Anyway, I'll take you back to the place where we're staying and you can talk to her yourself. Just be careful. She gets scared easily around anything involving fire."

 

They headed to the hotel, and Rambler knocked on Minath's door. "Minath? Are you ready? Flint is here with me. I promise he won't use any of his magic around you again."

Minath got out of the shower and fell. Of course.

 

"One sec!" She yelled, she put on her usual, non-magic slate colored armor and dried off her mane alittle, but it was still dripping when she opened the door. Flint was there, and she was glad Rambler pre-warned him. She invited them both inside and sat down on her bet, gesturing for Flint to sit in a chair that she had moved roughly four feet away, just for the purpose of him sitting there. She motioned for Rambler to sit next to her on the bed.

Rambler was happy to see her, and quickly sat down next to her. Flint sat in the chair as indicated.

 

"I'm sorry I frightened you. I had no idea you were afraid of fire magic. I really feel terrible about it. I... I don't want you to be afraid of me all the time, you know? I guess I'll just be careful to keep my magic as far away from you as possible. If you're close to my brother, then you must be a really wonderful mare, and I'd hate for my magic to keep us from being able to be friends with each other."

Minath held up her hoof.

 

"I'm the one who should be apologizing. I overreacted. I just have a bad history with fire magic users, and I'm sorry that I'm taking it out on you. I'm going to try to make an effort to not freak out on you like I did earlier, but I can't guarantee that will happen. It's not you that I don't like, it's the brand of magic you use. Being from the same family as Rambler you must be cool, but I'm afraid my getting to know that may be very limited."

 

Minath finished her little speech and snuggled up to Rambler, one arm behind him and her head on his shoulder.

Rambler nuzzled her affectionately. and whispered in her ear, "I'm proud of you. I know this can't be easy for you."  

 

Flint smiled. "Really you don't need to apologize. I understand completely, and I just wish I had known better than to frighten you in the first place. And I understand if you don't want to be around me too much because of my magic. Everybody has things they're afraid of. It's okay."

Minath smiled at Rambler, and stood up.

 

"Now that that's settled, let's grab dinner. I'm paying." She used her magic to grab her saddlebag off of the desk in her hotel room, and put on her hoofguards that matched her armor.

 

Per her usual, she popped most if not all her joints before heading out.

Rambler nodded. "I'm all for that. We never got to eat after training, after all. But you don't have to pay, you know. Really it's supposed to be my job to pay for you. But I guess I'll settle for splitting the bill. Deal?"

 

Flint got up. "Wait just a minute. I don't want anyone else paying for me either. We'll split it three ways."

Minath laughed. A mare offers to pay and Tartarus freezes over.

 

"Fine. We'll split it three ways. Come one, we'll eat at the bar downstairs." Minath led the stallions out of her room and locked the door behind them, and thought how weird this must look. A Alicorn leading two Earth ponies out of her room.

Rambler laughed with her. Flint didn't get it but then again, he usually didn't. He'd never been good at understanding social interaction. As they walked, Rambler wrapped his arm around Minath's shoulders. Overall, this whole thing had gone pretty well. Maybe Flint could even help Minath overcome her fears. But now he was getting ahead of himself. For the time being he was content with things as they were.

Minath smiled as Rambler wrapped his arm around her, and in turn she wrapped her wing around him. She walked up to the bar and ordered a veggie burger and a pint of beer.

Iron saw Minath walk into the bar, and once Minath noticed her all things were going to go to hell. She saw rambler and some other pony that looked like a carbon-copy of Rambler, and waited for Minath to find Iron in the crowd.

Regal turned behind him and saw Thunder.

"That was sad. You control lighting and yet you moved so slow that my magic was able to hit you. I should let you suffer in pain to teach you to be faster, like lighting" Still he did want to waste his magic on a fight that was his to win. Waving his hand over Thunder the runes disappeared.

"Sorry I mistook you for a thief. Um... If would excuse me. I want to go see what this town has to offer, you can join me if you wish" Regal said as he turned away from Thunder.

Thunder grunted, he got up and chased after the pony, once he got to him he poked his shoulder. "wanna spar? just t-to see how well, and show dominance in each other" he said with a shrug. "we could find out whose better......ill go easy i-if you want..." he said quietly

"What me spar with you?" Regal got a smile on his face and let out a short laugh.

"Thunder I've seen you fight before. I already know some runes that would give me the hand up in our fight" He thought for a moment then sighed.

"If you really want a fight then we fight outside the hotel. I just need to set up some runes to protect the hotel should any magic misfire. Met me out side if you want to fight" Regal turned and walked away. -This pony will be in for a rude awakening-

Regal was hoping the Thunder was a good fighter. Regal wanted to use the runes that he had hidden behind the wraps around his legs.

thunder smirked "ive practiced, and ive aquired some new skills." he then walked outside " not only have i learned some new magical moves, but ive also mastered alot of close combat moves as well. including my wing speed" he said. he walked out into the clearing

Rambler ordered the same as Minath, Flint ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a whiskey ((I spent a truly embarrassing amount of time thinking of that order)) and they sat down as they waited for their food. Out of the corner of his eye, Rambler thought he saw someone familiar, but he couldn't quite recognize them. Somehow, he had a feeling that what had looked to be a pretty good night, was going to go very bad, very fast.

Minath saw Rambler look across the bar and saw Iron Quill, the b**** of all b****es, and a vicious fire user. She stood up and walked to Iron.

Iron saw Minath walking to her, and formed a fire miniature of her enemy. Even made the little burns to match. When Minath stormed up Iron decided to have fun.

 

"What the f*** do you think you're doing here? There's a reason we left you at the guild you fire scum." Minath spat at Iron angrily.

 

"Me? Well I was clearly invited. If you didn't already have those burns, I would give them to you, slut." Iron said with a smirk. Minath was shaking with her anger, and Iron decided to draw upon that. "Oh, is the little orphan shaking in her hoofguards? You better be."

"It doesn't matter Thunder. As long as I have my magic and control of the field, you'll have fun trying to beat me" Regal also entered the clearing. Moving his hooves quickly, Regal cast runes around the clearing.

"Now then there are rules to this fight" He smiled as the runes glowed.

"First Rule. stepping out of the field and the field will inflict Pain on you. Second. No killing blows. That is all"

"Since I am a gentle pony i'll let you have the first blow" Regal stood still without a worry.
