Fluttershy's latent abilities.

Fluttershy is the perfect caretaker for many creatures in Equestria. By always placing others needs ahead of her own, she truly represents her element.

 

As the series progresses, she gradually learns to put her hoof down and impose her will on others...but just how far does that power go?

 

In "Stare Master", her ability to subdue even the cockatrice suggests that her stare is indeed top-tier.

 

 

 

 

Occasionally dealing with misbehaving animals would expectedly nurture this power, yet Fluttershy demonstrates an ability even greater than Lelouch's Geass "The Stare" before the end of season 1.

 

Back tracking to "Ticket Master" for a moment, we recall that Fluttershy wants to roam the garden and befriend all the creatures (which includes Tucans, Humming birds, Buzzards, and Flamingo's, among many others). This seems to imply that she hasn't met these type of animals before- much less houses them.

 

Seven episodes into season 2 though, many of the mentioned creatures are options for Rainbow's pet.

 

How did she get them there? The answer is simple. With the power of........

 

 

The Shout

 

 

 

 

 

Her command was clear: "You're..going..to LOVE ME!!!"

 

And that's exactly what they do. They sought out her cottage and have remained ever since.

 

It's power rivals "The Stare", and it's more effective to cast (influencing multiple targets through sound).

 

Out of all her talents, the ability to communicate COMMAND creatures makes Fluttershy a force to be reckoned with; especially if it extended to Dragons! All hail, Flutterborn

 

What other powers remain dormant in Fluttershy? Will she harness them in season 4? Am I just making references because I can?

I am completely updated in all of the my little pony episodes so I know that the stare was brought into play, however I did not look at "the shout" the way that you are. It is an interesting viewpoint. Could other powers remain dormant in flutter shy? Possibly, however I feel like the show is going to steer in a very Twilight direction so it would be interesting if they were brought out.

We all knew she is Dovahshy all along. Maybe there will be Vamponies in season 4... Or a mean Pegasus stallion, who thinks that he can take out care of animals better than her? And Discord supports her to get rid of him, after he initially supported that stallion.

I don't think that they will add more abilities, just... extend them.

But an idea I had in mind for a while now:

Maybe they will introduce seaponies in season 4 (good ones). And if they add them, there may be a threat to them. How about kelpies?

And Fluttershy is the key to restore peace through her authority cuteness, by staring them down.

I also get the feeling that S4 will largely focus on Twilight and Equestria itself (locations, troubles, and history). The rest of the Mane 6 will travel by her side, so I'm sure they'll continue developing. All the new locations could lead to any number of situations (subtle shouts, if anything), but I don't expect Flutterborn to fully awaken either. Given how much she's already learned, her kindness will keep shining through.

 

That 2nd question is really just there as filler, but still kinda fun to hear peoples take on it.

Yes! Dovashy/Flutterborn isn't new at all. I found it amusing that there was proof in the show 

 

Now....sea ponies!  From what I gather, that's an older generation reference (that went horribly wrong- although many may argue those generations went wrong). Don't know much about either, but whatever the writers decide will be great. If they incorporate those, so be it.

 

I'd love to see what Discord's up to, as well; but if he crosses Fluttershy........  "You're going to OBEY ME"!

Well it's pretty bleeding obvious, isn't it? She'll control the animals, gaining little furry soldiers one by one until she manages to overthrow Celestia!

Oddly, Fluttershy's Stare is extremely similar to Haoshoku Haki from One Piece. Both allow people to subdue creatures or defeat them with just a glance . Here is a clip of a character using Haki.

 

 

Replace him with an adorable pony and whatever that thing is with a dragon, and you get a scene from the episode Dragonshy. Of course, being able to defeat things with a glance isn't exactly an unheard of thing in fiction, so I'm sure there are many other similarities too.

True. Ocular abilities aren't uncommon in shounen manga, but I thoroughly enjoy the One Piece comparison!

 

Conquerer's Haki asserts your will on the surrounding area (specific people once you control it), but the intensity Luffy gains in his gaze is imposing enough on it's own- especially in the manga. 

 

I don't keep up with the One Piece anime, but you definitely picked out the right scene.

I could see an episode of the show forthcoming where Fluttershy has to act as leader, something she has never really done before. Like the Dragon episode for example, only a different problem which Fluttershy has to lead the group to solve.

xD That's hilarious, I can just imagine Fluttershy using her powers to force animals to love her. Bahahaha! But that kind of reminds me of how in 'Teen Wolf' when an Alpha uses their Alpha voice/howl, other werewolves have to obey them...So in short...Fluttershy is an Alpha werewolf. O.O
