Cicada smiled at Harmonic, approvingly. "The Queen would most certainly agree with this," she said. The conscripts were mostly finished anyway; their numbers didn't hit double figures and in any case, Cicada felt it was best to have a demonstration of what would befall anypony who stepped out of line now, rather than when the army was on the move.

(You posted just as I clicked to type. Ninja Lucy)

Just as quickly as he arrived, Steeleye was apprehended by not only the Crystal Onyx, but he also rather foolishly drew the attention of the commander. Seeing him killing soldiers was somewhat of a comfort, but his previous attempts at killing Harmonic had somewhat clouded his rationality. Without thinking about the consequences, he encased him in a magical aura, lifting him off the ground and quite literally squeezing the life from Steeleye.

Just as he was about to pass out from the pressure, one of his Onyx guards plunged his halberd directly into his ribcage, piercing his heart and lung.

His body hit the floor limply as Harmonic let go, blood running from his nose.

He turned to Cecy and smiled grimly as the blood had already begun to congeal in his fur "Well, that ended better than I expected it to, no doubt." he turned to see the guard doing their job and once again running off the scout's troops. He didn't bother calling after them, instead he let them run and have their sport.

Cicada shrugged. "Better this way. We ought to leave at least one alive, so we can interrogate them and find out if there were any plots against either the Queen, or the Princess. Queen Chrysalis told me that while she was fighting you, an explosion occurred. Somepony had tried to kill her. At the time, she assumed it was you using magic against her, but later on, she came to the conclusion that you'd be too busy to use such a complicated magical weapon."

"What's all the commotion about?"Arrow asked the pegasus soldier. Before the other stallion could answer, however, chaos erupted in the form several scouts appearing and engaging the Crystal Onyx. Arrow immediately drew his sword, but hesitated before attacking.

"These scouts are Steeleye's ponies. What the hay is going on?"

No sooner had Arrow mentioned Steeleye than he heard the pony in question calling something out to Harmonic, though Arrow was too far away, surrounded by the sound of fighting, to hear what Steeleye was saying. All Arrow could do was watch as the other general was killed.

As the Onyx Guard rounded on the remaining scouts, and other ponies - conscripts - who Arrow assumed must have also been in on whatever Steeleye had been planning, Arrow turned swiftly to the nearest of the scouts and plunged a sword in his chest.

"I'm afraid it seems your rebellion will be quite short-lived."

Seeing that the Onyx could handle the rebels - Arrow couldn't imagine what else the attacking ponies could be - Arrow took to the air, flying over to Harmonic and Cecy on the balcony.

"Commander, would you be so kind as to explain the situation?"

"Hmmm, perhaps you're right." he sighed, turning back over the commotion. "Bruce! Bring me one of the traitors for questioning!" he yelled out, to which one of his pegasi guards turned to salute before darting off.

"Ah, Arrow, how good to see you again after so long." he stamped his hoof into the floor and stood tall and defiant, snarling down at him. "I'm sorry that my execution was decided against, and indeed I am still your commander. It's almost as if nothing has happened isn't it?" he laughed mockingly before getting to answer his question. "As for this...business. The Crystal Onyx are taking care of the riff-raff down there that would serve to betray our princess and our queen. The freedom march against the tyrant Celestia cannot be interrupted. If we left them to live, they would attempt rebellion again in the future. I'm...what was it? Nipping it in the bud." he smirked deviously before turning to Cecy. "Wouldn't you agree miss?"

Just then, the pegasus he had called to earlier returned with a farmer in tow and dumped him on the balcony, a metal bola chaining his legs together. "Perfect timing, efficient as always. Call the rest back for a dismissal."

Just as he turned to walk away, he suddenly remembered something he wanted to warn Arrow about before, so turned around and whispered in his ear. "I'd be careful with Enid were I you. I see the way you look at her, and I need to warn you it's not me you have to worry about. You'd be wise to meet me on the balcony later." With that, he grabbed hold of Cecy lightly by her mane and teleported them both to the throne room.

_____

Princess Cadence shook her head, politely declining the offer to teleport to him. Instead she made her way by walking back to the throne room, where Harmonic and Cecy where awaiting her arrival. "Oh? Harmony! I do believe Steeleye was just coming to find you, he seemed rather upset."

"Miss, are you telling her, or should I?" Harmonic asked the mare.

Sanura was angered by Dawn Wing attempting to paint Celestia as a tyrant. "You lie," she hissed. "Look at me. I am half zebra, and if Celestia was the monster you say she is, would she have hired me to work for her? I have often consulted with Celestia, and sometimes, with both Princesses together. They both have a say in ruling; sometimes, Luna gives a suggestion about one of my missions and Celestia concedes. My last mission in the Griffon kingdom, in fact, was due to a suggestion of Luna's. I will not say much about it, but it's sufficient to say that Celestia supported what Luna suggested."

She paused on the information about the changeling seen at the site of the riot. "This is an unwelcome development," she said. "It sounds as tho an unholy alliance has perhaps been made; we must speak with Celestia at once."

Cadence looked less than pleased about Harmonic's rather bold bragging, frowning at him with an unhappy sigh. "A shame, he would have been useful in the coming ventures, but why did you kill him, may I ask? I take the fact that Cecy hasn't...apprehended you about the matter as a sign that it wasn't entirely your doing?"

"No, ma'am. Indeed it was not. I had ordered the guard to dispel some...doubters, in the military. Lieutenant Steeleye apparently decided it was his place to condemn my actions, and approached me with malice intent. I acted in self defence."

"Harmony as well as I know you, and as much as your judgements normally serve to be on the ball - recent actions of yours have made it hard for me to trust your word as I once did. Steeleye could be rash at times, yes. But I find it difficult to believe that he would be as careless as you claim." She looked at Cecy as if asking for confirmation.

Suddenly perking up again, she stepped forward, flaring her wings wide and smiling sweetly at the two. Then from there we prevent any unauthorized entry into canterlot. Once that is done we can have a base that we don't have to worry about a changeling infiltration going on."

@@Agent505,

Arrow stood waiting on the balcony, at first watching and then turning his back on the sight of the Crystal Onyx cleaning up after Steeleye's little rebellion attempt. He was anxious to continue preparing for the coming march, and growing impatient - indeed, the mere fact that it was Harmonic who was making him stand around waiting like a ninny irritated Arrow to no end. Still, curiosity and concern kept him there on the balcony.

He snorted slightly, stamping a hoof on the hard ground, only to hear the sound of a unicorn teleporting behind him. Arrow turned.

"Commander." He stated coolly, giving Harmonic the most infinitesimal of nods.

Uh...I have no idea what to put here.

Black=Ano

Blue=Phe

Grey=Nathaniel

"Yes a perfect gift for me,

 Is a smile as wide as a mile,

To make me happy as can be!"

"I'll bet" she Cadence chuckled as she walked over to the her room "would you be a dear and start the interrogation? I'll be sure to send Harmony down when he's finished, and I might even come down myself." She grinned, moving into her room and closing the door behind her.

"Ah, Arrow, how wonderful to see you too" Harmonic smiled malevolently. "So...you decided to actually show up, did you? ...interesting." He mused to himself, walking over to the stallion and standing by his side, but looking out over the remnants of the rebellion, the last of whom where being dragged away as the crystal guards and the onyx cleared the streets. "I can only assume that you coming here, means you are still loyal to the princess and still willing to follow my commands." he turned to the stallion, standing himself up straight and kicking his hoof at the ground. "...Or perhaps...there is another reason you came? To heed my warning about the mare you have become most...involved with, as of late...?"

@@Agent505,

Cicada replied to Cadance, "Of course, Princess." When Cadance had left, Cicada looked critically at the prisoners. "You know," she said, "You picked the wrong side in this game. Your leader is dead. And by the time we're finished with you, you're going to wish you were, too. Of course, you could always prevent such pain, by telling me right now what Steeleye's various plots were. In detail."
