Anyone else like to write songs?

I like to write song lyrics! Do you? If so, what kind?

I like to write emotional song lyrics for rock songs...I usually write them so that, even though I may have had a specific meaning in mind, they sound like they could mean a lot of different things. (In some cases certain lyrics might sound like the opposite of what they mean.)

I can't really write tunes (I'd just end up stealing from other songs :P), but I do sometimes have cool ideas for songs...including easter eggs that would be hidden on the album

So...what about you?

I like to write poems... and if you are exactly, a song, or just it's text, is often a rhythmically recited poem.

I sure write some singable ones.

But some of mine are really bad. And they all do only rhyme or are fluently written in German. Could make trash rock... or pop.

Never had it with notes. But with music in general.

Should write something. It's been some time...

I write many different kinds of songs, ranging from ska, to swing, to folk songs, to rock, or even rap. I usually write alternative music though. My music is usually based in emotions or experience. Songwriting is only an extension of my other hobbies, writing poetry and playing music.

I really enjoy writing pony music C: seems to be where my muse is at. I've written a song about King Sombra and even wrote one for the winter holidays. I'm currently working on songs about people's OC's

Oh, I do from time to time, but I never tend to get anything finished. I'm quite lousy at writing lyrics. (I'm better at prose.) This is about the extent of my lyrical ability:

I feel like I'm better at writing music than I am writing lyrics.

Also, I arranged this:

Sorry, can only show two vids. Trust me, it's nothing bad.

Well, I can't write sheet music or anything like that, but I do write (really bad) lyrics, mostly of the pop rock or rock n' roll/rockabilly variety. As mentioned before, they're really bad, but it's kind of fun.

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

I like to call myself a musician. I like to play the guitar, and I have a very good ear for music. I would someday like to write a song, but I feel I need a bit of work with my musical abilities, as well as with the English language. Lyric writing is essentially the exact same thing as poetic writing, and I can't say I've written any poems in my life. But that most certainly won't stop me from trying!

I compose a great deal of the music for my band, as well as being tasked with writing all of the lyrics (most of my bandmates claim not to have any poetic talent whatsoever...I call BS, but whatever). I mostly write heavy metal, blending elements of thrash, prog, power, symphonic and speed metal wherever I can. My band's single can be found on my profile page, should anypony be inclined to give it a looksie. :)

I also went through an orchestral "phase" when I was tasked with composing the score for a small video game project on dA, but that project has long since died due to a lack of commitment from programmers. Still, it garnered me quite a bit of experience in classical composition, so I just apply what I've learned to some of our band's more symphonic songs. I hope to further develop my skills in writing orchestral pieces so that I may one day score for big-time projects like films or games.

i've written a few snippets of lyrics. i like to meld melodic singing-styles with spoken word and rapping verses, to create a kind of lyrical "complexity" that i enjoy. i also like to write lyrics that are detailed and have a kind of meaning to them that can be interpreted in many different ways. i've found that emotionally heavy lyrics works exceptional in happy, pop-rock and pop-punk songs, as a form of contrast.

I write songs from many different genres:

From easy listening, like this one:

to high-energy rock like this one:

Both have lyrics in the description.

I like to write really dark and gory lyrics.

Ussually about people dying or something sadistic.

I would post some some stuff but if I did people would think I'm crazy.

Lyrics are the easy part.

The instruments are the toughy.

I'm into metal, in case you're wondering.

Yes, I do love song writing. I have written a couple of full songs, and I have a guitar that I'm not very good at, but I'm learning. :P

But it's not anything serious, just me having some fun or letting out some emotions.
