Is Applejack the only one who can keep Rainbow Dash in her place

I have always noticed that Apple Jack is the only friend out of the other 4. Is the voice of reason over Twilight. Apple Jack to me is more of a leader than Twilight is. I mean she can keep Rainbow in line when Rainbow's ego is released. Apple Jack is a perfect foil for Rainbow. Rainbow does need to be grounded here and there. So what do you think?

Well I do agree that Applejack can be a better leader than Twilight at some points. heck she even led the mane 6 to led out the group of parasprties. Applejack is likely the most mature of them all as well (yes even more than Twilight). Though she isn't the only would to keep Rainbow Dash in place. While Rainbow Dash is pretty rash and arrogant at some points; any one of her friends can keep her in her place.

Look at it this way, the only other options for keeping RD in line are someone that's;

scared of confrontation.

afraid of dirt

a scatter brain and

a control freak

 

Applejack's the all rounder.

 

I agree with Lady Rainicorn also, I feel as though Applejack is better suited for the role of leader than Twilight is, at least in a sense of handling a situation as it comes. While Twilight might be better and devising a plan than I definitely think AJ could execute it amongst a team better.

Applejack can definitely keep Rainbow Dash from doing anything out of her power or doing something that she will regret.

 

 

When it comes to leadership, Twilight is good at devising a plan and putting strategies in the plan to get executed. Applejack can definitely convince the rest of the Mane 6 to help Twilight with executing the plan.

Applejack is definitely the best at keeping Rainbow Dash in her place. Rainbow Dash is very reckless and rash, whereas Applejack is a lot more even-keeled and prefers to think things through. AJ knows that the ponies have to stick together in tense situations, whereas Dash is liable to fly off and cause trouble, as seen in Dragonshy when it is AJ who says there's safety in numbers, which just goes to show that AJ can really rival Dash's loyalty in certain situations. Applejack is a leader in her own right. Whenever Twilight is isolated from the others, it's usually Applejack who calls out the orders, as seen in episode 2 as well as A Canterlot Wedding part 1. She's the second in command, so to speak.

 

Plus, Applejack has the strength, maturity, and no-nonsense attitude to put Dash in her place. AJ has no problem grabbing Dash by the tail and holding her back if need be. She doesn't hesitate to call her out on her behavior, and we've seen these two butt heads many times because of it. AJ has the strength and discipline to test Dash, whereas the others do not. AJ has the backbone and outspoken disposition that Twilight does not have, and that's key to keeping RD in line.

 

Applejack is a hard working pony. If there's a job that needs to get done, she will be the first to whip her friends into shape and straighten them out.

Applejack has a stubborn, non-back-down personality that's naturally capable of dealing with hot shot hot heads like Dash who recklessly get ahead of themselves. They're also rivals as well as good friends. Rainbow's got a better chance of listening to AJ simply because they seem to be two of the more compatible personalities.

Twilight has put Rainbow in her place a couple time, but A.J seems more successful here. Rainbow Dash is the most confrontation and quickest to anger of the main six, yet she lets Applejack get away with yanking her tail around and using strong wording (and I'm pretty sure Rainbow's not afraid of confronting A.J).

 

Twilight may be a better strategist, but I think Applejack's a better leader. That she's able to lead Rarity and Rainbow Dash, two of whom have fought with her in the past and who are the closest thing to rivals for her (the former with a completely different way about herself that A.J can't understand and the latter who opening competes/fights with A.J on almost everything), is actually quite amazing. Pretty much Twilight would have to lead Trixie around to get the same result. 

 

Add to this that A.J has lead the others several times. In the Crystal Empire she even took control of the situation when Twilight went fangirl on the library and held back the crowd later on.

 

Finally, people seem to just do things for A.J, sometimes without her asking:

S2. ep.14 - her friends going after her even after she left a note, willing to chase her down in the middle of nowhere
 

S3. ep. 9 - Fluttershy walks her dog
 

S3. ep. 8 - Spike acting as her lighter
 

S3. ep. 9 - Spike willing to sever her forever
 

S3. ep 10 -Fluttershy helping her with her flood problem

Ol Aj has a lot going for her, she is clearly the big sister of the group, but in the same breath she has a huge chip on her shoulder. I am no Aj hater but she has shown her armor chinks,the farm,her pride, her family. And we have seen her abandon the group forbthese reasons. If the elements are immortal, then the aged death of her family will hurt her thee most out of the 6. So today she is strong, in 80 years....hmm.

Applejack is a more emotionally stable pony than Twilight is. Twilight may have great leadership skills and intelligence, but I think Applejack could communicate to Rainbow Dash better. Their personalities come into it too. Rainbow Dash and Applejack both have very similar personalities, so Rainbow would be more likely to listen to her as apposed to Twilight.
