Remi 1,309 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 I thought of something. What if Lauren Faust and all of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic developers support the Brony fandom so that later on, WE BRONIES can keep the show thriving. Just a random thought, but an intruiging one. What do you think?<Brohoof> Take Me Out.
Page.Turner 940 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 I don't quite understand what you mean... I mean, how would we keep the show thriving? And for how long? Because, you know, there is something known as "too much of a good thing". I wouldn't want the show to go on Forever. Just long enough that it's got good nostalgia C: ... Remi 1,309 June 12, 2013 Author Share June 12, 2013 What I mean is, for example, if Lauren Faust get assigned to do a different show, and cant keep developing MLP, some Bronies could be assigned to take her place. I mean, we Bronies have made a large variety of pony videos already. Maybe we could keep it going for longer than it was expected. Take Me Out. ~StatesTheOblivious~ 1,795 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 (edited) NOOOOOO!!! Do you have an idea what we would make out of it!? Look at "Double Rainboom", there you have an idea! Only professionals and/or people with knowledge of storytelling and how to avoid "jumping-the-shark-moments" would have to be allowed working on it... And I would volunteer. Can't await to turn it into a teen-rated and fanfic based uber-symbolic-emotional-philosophical show with sex, drugs and Rock n' Roll. Wait, that would be ridiculous, right? Curse my headcanon... Fhaolan 4,484 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 Lauren already moved on, she was basically an advisor for some of the episodes during Season 2, and Season 3 she had nothing to do with. However, the *concept* you're looking at, having fans continue producing content after the original show has ended, is perfectly fine. That's how Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Star Wars survived as fandoms after their shows/movies ceased production. Eventually the IP owners started producing more 'official' content as well, usually being directed/written by former fans. This fandom has already produced fan-made episodes, and a large number of shorts. As long as those creative-type don't burn out, and continue to improve their skills, everything should be fine. The biggest concern is burn-out. Because most fan-works are produced by only a small number of fans, it's really easy for them to get overloaded.

I do agree with you that there is a possibility that if we were to make the show later on, we could get overloaded. However, if at least 70% of the people on this domain contributed weekly, we could have our own productions going, and get paid for it. It's fun to think about. Take Me Out. Which is why I support groups like Pony-in-a-Box productions, and individuals like JanAnimations. They're basically trying to make a go of this kind of thing right now.

They would be good for making movies later on as well. Take Me Out.
Super Derpy 535 June 13, 2013 Share June 13, 2013 I think this is very possible. We have proven that we can make fan-made episodes that look almost exactly like the actual show. (Double Rainboom) If bronies really put there minds to it we might be able to continue the show after it ends. 2 Thanks to LittleRawr for the signature! I can imagine down the road there being a revival of the show (or at least a G5,G6 done with this continuity and the same style) by somebody who was a fan of FiM.
