Equestrian Girls DVD and Blu-ray Release

I am unsure if anyone here has posted this, however two weeks ago, Walmart's web-site added new titles for pre-order, including none other than Equestrian Girls. Not only is there a DVD of the featured film, but also a Blu-ray. It is currently un-known what bonus context is included and if there will be any retailer exclusives attached. But it is stated to arrive to stores on August sixth!

Here are links to both the DVD and Blu-ray, pre-orders are open! :)

Beginning of August, huh? Not but several days after BronyCon ends, no less. I may or may not get the DVD, but I will for sure be watching it on Netflix when it eventually gets there.

I myself am planning on getting the Blu-ray, however I did post on My Little Pony's official Facebook page inquiring if they knew if there would be any known store exclusives. After all nopony wants to pass them up! ;)

I'm hoping the Blu-Ray gets ripped upon release, seeing the movie in HD would be cool(I'd settle for a DVD rip if nothing else though.)

I support the company with merch and other cool things.

Howdy folks!

If WM has it up on their site about EG on DVD/BD I can wait till August.

Wont surprise me if Amazon will do the same once SHOUT Factory puts out the press release.

(Got to work on the days that the movie gonna be shown so no biggie)

See ya!

And that is the real release date for me since I'm unable to see it in theaters, can't wait! :D

Or you could, you know, rent it or something. ;)

It costs like $4 a night to rent new releases here, besides it's not like I'm giving the right people money doing it what way XD. I rather get it for free and use that $4 for trading cards.

I'm wondering what made then decide to release the disc version so late. How long will it be shown in movie theaters?

From a brony standpoint (no idea what percentage of potential viewership we constitute) July 6th would have seemed reasonable, but they must have knowm that there will be a lot of talk and creative output and everything about the movie, so patience will grow thin and people might watch it through leaks. Espcially considering that it's shown only in a few select theaters, why not release the disc version shortly after? Even from a non-brony standpoint, I don't see the benefit of a late disc release.

How many people will want to buy the disc because cinema is no option for them?

- vs. -

How many people will want to buy the disc long after it has been shown in cinema?

All you have to do is take a bunch of letters! Add it to the thread! Now just take a little something bold, not italic! A bit of underline, just a pinch! Writing these words is such a cinch! Add a teaspoon of punilla! Add a little more, and you count to four, and you always get your filler... Onehundred! So sweet and tasty! Hundred! Don't be too hasty! Hundred! Hundred, hundred, HUNDRED!

Of course I'm gonna buy it. Blu-Ray all the way. Once I own the movie I'll hug it and squeeze it and call it George! Okay that's kinda creepy lol. Maybe I'd just watch it a few times.

Eh, whatever, do whatever you like I guess, just a harmless suggestion is all. :P

Anyway, it's been good to hear this movie is good, I will be waiting for August 6th when this releases to see it for myself with eager anticipation. :D

Blu Ray, you will be acquired by me! The insane jump in quality from what I have seen (Youtube of course) will probably be in the amazing category. I may get the DVD as well, just so I can rip it and put it on other devices. Equestria Girls on the move! August 6th is much sooner than I expected.

How neat would it be if there was some slight season 4 info as bonus content? Since this is not being released as close to the supposed season 4 timeframe, that would make me feel a bit better. :)
