open Happenings in the Everfree RP

Silver galloped for all his worth back towards the camp, his left wing trailing and leaving drops of blood on the ground.

 

He skidded to a stop when he saw Minty, and the charred remains of a Timberwolf with Fireblaze standing over it.

 

Why did one split off from the others? He thought to himself. He wondered if the burnt one had been the leader, who had picked out what he thought was the weakest member of the group while the rest distracted the others.

 

Before approaching Silver glanced over his shoulder to make sure no timber wolves were following him. None were in sight!

 

A horrible thought occurred to Silver... had his earlier bugle calls alerted the wolves to their location? Was this HIS fault? He'd called before with his bugle and none had come... or had they been scoping the group of ponies out for some time? So far, they had encountered no dangerous animals... who knows how long the wolves might have been watching and waiting and what else lurked int he shadows?

 

He trotted over beside Minty and Redwave and looked down at the minty green mare sadly. "I'm sorry" was all he could manage to say. Even if it wasn't his fault...  he still felt to blame. Silver didn't really know what to do, He was no expert on first aide and only had limited knowledge of it.

 

"Cinder?" he looked around to see if she was at his side.

 

((OOC I know CS is sleeping so I may have to assume Cinder is with him since I don't think they'd get separated. she's not that silly ))

Eyes glazing over in response to her actions, Red quickly set about cleaning up the bloodied mare as best he could.

 

Between the alcohol, the crude 'bandages' and his considerably limited knowledge of healing, it was a very rough job, but one done with more care and attention than he had ever managed before.

 

Eventually, all that could be done was to wait and see what would happen: he had done everything he could - now it was her turn.

 

"I'm here, just... Don't leave me here alone." He mumbled to the unconscious pony, forgetting his forced accent for a moment before sliding to the ground himself, exhausted.

Minty hugged Redwave in her unconsciousness, and kept her embrace. "I would never leave you." She shedded a tear.

 

After a hour, she woke up with a start. "Redwave.." Minty said softly, the scar still remaining on her eye. She smiled a warm smile, hoping to put him in a good mood. Through all this chaos, she still didn't want him in a sad mood as she nuzzled his cheek.

"I'm here, just... Don't leave me here alone." "I would never leave you." She shedded a tear. After a hour, she woke up with a start. "Redwave.." Minty said softly, the scar still remaining on her eye. She smiled a warm smile, hoping to put him in a good mood. Through all this chaos, she still didn't want him in a sad mood as she nuzzled his cheek.

 

Silver also felt exhausted but he refused to sleep. He slumped down just a short distance away from Redwav's sleeping body and gazed out into the forest, looking for the three other timberwolves. I refuse to leave everypony at risk. He decided. If only he had one of Cinder's potions to keep him alert. Every muscle hurt and his wing was throbbing and drooping at his side. 

 

He heard Minty stir and speak... he so wanted to go over an comfort her, but he could see her nuzzling up to Redwave and decided to leave them be.

 

If only Rorona hadn't gotten lost on this mission... I do hope she and the others are ok out there. He thought to himself. I hope Minty is ok, and where is Lyona?

 

Sick with worry, Silver held his post, standing watch over the exhausted Redwave and the badly injured Minty... 

 

((OOC so can't assume that Cinder is here really but if she is.. .then i guess she's standing guard too or something. Dunno)))

Lyona was still curled up in a ball, weeping. 

 

Out of the bushes came a little manticore cub. It spotted Lyona, and advanced quickly to her. The cub paused just when it was beside her. The little one nudged her shoulder, trying to wake her up. It meowed loudly in her ear, pawing at her.

"You..." Cinder said as she returned from checking the area. "... You have got to be the single most idiotic pony I have ever met."

 

She approached Silver.

 

"You were going to take on not just a Timber Wolf, but a whole pack of them?" She said incredulously "You are an absolute idiot feathers... Thank you."

 

She leant over and kissed his cheek, the thick layer of ash masking her embarrassment, before quickly changing the subject.

 

"Does that just make it... The four of us? I didn't see the others."

Silver stopped mid thought. Suddenly his stomach felt like it was full of....

 

 

 

Did she just ...kiss me? he thought... dazed. Does that mean that she... No she's just grateful that I was willing to risk my life for her... But still...  Broken wing or not...I think I just flew to Canterlot and back!

Then out loud he said with a shaky voice 

 

"You're welcome, Sooty" He was SURE that every dapple on his body was showing his blush  He was glad that Cinder seemed to be looking the other way, and that Redwave and Minty appeared to be asleep.

 

 

 

 

"Does that just make it... The four of us? I didn't see the others."

 

 

Glad of the distraction, Silver spoke: " I saw Fireblaze earlier, she killed the timberwolf! She saved Redwave and Minty. Fire probably galloped off to find the other timberwolves. Lets hope they don't find anypony else first. We should try and find Lyona...  but I don't want to leave these two unguarded.

 

"Not that I'm much of a guard" he thought. "Where was she last seen?"

She glanced around, trying to answer his question.

 

"I don't know. All I remember is being... She said, cutting herself off abruptly: what was she supposed to say? All she remembered was being lost, alone and listening to her thoughts tell her that she couldn't depend on anyone but herself...

 

"The screaming, all I remember is the screaming. And the wolves."

Silver Note shook all over, dust flying in all directions. It caused a slight pain in his left wing. "Oh I don't know about that, I think I look quite good in black" He grinned at Cinderblock, noticing that she looked good no matter what! Ignoring the pain he struck a pose and gave her a playful grin. If only they weren't in such danger he'd.....

 

 

... pounce and playfully roll her to the ground...  But they were in danger... and so were their friends. Why then... did he feel so happy? He touched his cheek thoughtfully.

 

"We could try the cave... but I'm worried if we leave these two the other timber wolves will come.Dang it where is Fireblaze when you need her? and where'd impetus get to? It won't take these wolves long to figure out that their pack leader has been slain and they will be furious."

'One day, one day without danger and mystery and...'

 

Redwave woke with a groan, feeling bruised but otherwise no worse for wear. He frowned as he opened his eyes and saw the significantly less well off pony.

 

'Still breathing... She's alive at least.' He thought before carefully disengaging himself from her hooves. How long had he been out? How could he have fallen asleep when they were in danger?

 

"... how did I let this transpire? I was supposed to protect you..." he whispered, so as to not wake the resting mare.

Silver Note glanced about.

 

"Redwave?" he asked, noticing the stallion stir.  "Thank Celestia you're ... I mean... Silver checked himself and took on a more formal tone. "Glad to see you awake finally! We need to find the others, and Minty may need a medic. She looks... awful. I haven't seen the other wolves, but they can't be far off. We need a plan."

 

"Cinder... do you have any more smoke bombs? Can you make any?"

 

((OOC how does everyone feel about finding Zecora? I don't want to play her though! but we could just use her as a collective background pony that anyone could voice? thoughts?)))

"That was my last... I guess I could make something with what I've got left, can't be sure it would work properly though."

 

She looked over the meagre assortment of chemicals: most of the bottles now filled with water.

 

"I'll see what I can do."

Red answered without looking towards the pegasus.

 

"I'm no doctor, It's a wonder she still breathes at all..."

Silver Note glanced sideways at Redwave.

 

"Is he blaming himself the way I'm blaming myself?" thought Silver Note I was expecting him to yell at me for making so much noise.... 

 

"It's... not your fault...." He said as reassuringly as he could. "it's mine" he thought but decided not to voice it. He wondered if he should put a reassuring hoof on the white stallions shoulder. He started to reach out... but he hesitated... wondering if it would be well received or pushed off. He put his hoof back to the ground.

 

Silver walked over closer to Minty and nudged her with his nose. The sweet smell of mint filled his nostrils. She didn't stir, but he could see her breathing softly.

 

"I wish I could still fly" he said sadly fighting back a tear. "I'd fly out and find help... there must be somepony in these woods... " he lay down beside Minty and he did the only healing magic he knew....

 

He sang.

Minty remained unsoncscious, as if she were in a coma. She needed a hospital; a medic; or even better, just go home. She thought that this mission was too much. This forest was rabid and out to get you, but Minty was just happy that all this time Redwave was by her side and at her aid. She smiled at his remark, then cuddled closer to him.

'Why would you do that?...? What were you thinking? Neither the time nor the place to be acting like a filly!'

 

Cinder was growing increasingly frustrated as she tried to find a way to mix the chemicals she had remaining to create a smoke screen - something that was proving surprisingly difficult, considering her previous experiments.

 

"Aha!" she shouted as the bottle she was experimenting with shattered, sending thick black plumes in every direction.

 

"A little more volatile than expected but..." She plucked a shard of glass out of her for let with her teeth, spitting it on the ground.

 

"Could be useful I guess.!"

Ignoring Silver as he tended the savaged mare, Red found his way to his hooves again and made a poor attempt at washing the remainder of the rust coloured stains from his coat.

 

'I failed - I was absent where I should have been between them - It is my ineptitude which caused this and nothing else!'

 

He desperately wanted to break something: anything. He also seemed to have lost his sword at some point, leaving him feeling even more helpless than before.

 

"We require a healer... A real healer, somepony who actually understands what they are doing." He said.

Fireblaze noticed Minty's health to be in danger. She starts to feel a bit guilty when she did fight Minty in the underground fighting arena. She thought that this mission might be endangering everypony's health, and it is getting out of control.

 

'' This is just insane. How are we even going to continue the mission, if everything is getting out of hand?''

The manticore cub nudged the fallen pegasus again. It then decided to let out an adorable roar into Lyona's ear, but she still didn't wake up.

 

-Dead, they're all dead. I didn't save them...- Lyona was still in her nightmare induced sleep. -I could have saved them, but I was too weak, too slow.- A tear escaped her eyes, slowly rolling down her cheek.

'Buck up! You are a Captain and it's time you started acting like it!'

Red nodded to himself silently, looking up into the forest towards the fallen Timber Wolf.

"Silver!" He shouted. "Take care of Minty, I... Have something I need to do."

 

Somewhere out in the forest there were two ponies who needed his assistance. What sort of Captain would he be if he simply left them there?

'' I wonder where Lyona is. I know that she is our leader and all, plus I do feel that we do need her now.'' Looking around her surroundings, trying to hide her tears. Fireblaze tries look for Lyona, so she can get back on track.

The cub gave up trying to wake up Lyona. Instead, it sniffed the ground and followed the scent to the rest of the ponies. It took the little one a good five minutes to track the scent to the campground.

 

After reaching them, the little manticore noticed someponies who looked like Lyona, and roared cutely at them, trying to get their attention.

Hearing the manticore cub roaring at us.

 

'' I know that I shouldn't mess with another animal's cub but I have to hug it since it looks so adorable!'' Walking up to the manticore cub, hugging the cub very softly.

 

'' I hope that the cub's mother does not attack us.'' Starts to get a bit worried.

The cub growled again, wriggling to get out of Fireblaze's grasp. It lightly nips her shoulder, and points with it's head into the general direction where Lyona is, then roars again. It seemed very agitated, as if it was trying to make her go into that direction.

Letting go of the cub out of my hugging grip, following the direction that the cub is pointing in her direction. Fireblaze finally reaches the trail that indicates that Lyona is in that direction. I guess that I made it here, I hope that Lyona is here.

Lyona was lying just in front of the cave's entrance, where the frightening noise had first hit. She was twitching, her eyes shut tightly.

 

The cub ran to Lyona's side, kicking up dust in it's wake.  It nudged the pegasus' side, and looked up at Fireblaze with big puppy(kitten?) eyes.

'' Lyona, wake up.. The others need your help since, everything has been out of my hooves lately.'' Grabbing Lyona by the hoof, picking her up to her feet. '' We have to help them, or it will be the end for all of us!'' Running out of the cave, winking at the cub.
