Silver attempts to transport himself in a similiar manner, crashing into Fireblaze because he transported himself a weeee bit too far and causing them both to fall into the water Silver's horn accidentally touching hers and causing  a loud

A mixture of fire and music explodes around them setting several tree's on fire and causing a wall of sound to surround them.

Silver Note grins at her sheepishly. shaking the water off himself and tries again to levitate from rock to rock... 

 

"I think I'm getting the hang of this!" he said with a satisfied smirk. it's not that much different than flying. Just have to guage the speed with the direction of the wind and calculate the amount of lift against the pull of equestrian gravity and (he sang out) TA DA!"

 

"Oops... I just sang Ta Da... I promised myself no more singing or music!" Silver did a face hoof. he'd said that out loud... not that it mattered with a mind reading pony beside him.

"You... you think my singing is ok? I don't think anypony else does. I tried to sing to Minty, to help bring her back from unconsciousness... and she didn't even seem to have heard it... and I sang from my heart too... as one friend to another, hoping the magic of my song would reach her and she'd come back. She did come back.. but she ignored me like I wasn't even there...  I also blame myself for the timberwolves coming. Maybe she blames me too. If it weren't for you killing them with your fire... She might have died!  I should have listened to Lyona and been quiet...i was.. .just so scared for everypony stuck in those horrible illusions that I didn't think."

 

Silver had no idea why he was pouring his heart out to the little white mare. he just suddenly felt he could confide in his new found mentor.

"I still don't understand..." Cinder said as she followed Redwave as he hacked a path through the forest." "Where's Silver? Did you two get into another fight?"

 

She followed, watching the shadows as she kept the potions close at hand.

 

"And what had gotten into Minty?"

"No, my Lady, he simply had... more urgent matters to attend to it would seem..." Red answered dryly, not at all pleased about Silvers priorities. It hadn't taken him long to abandon the now-unicorn and take matters into his own hooves, dragging the mare with him.

 

"Well... She was asleep yes? And he was singing? I know that I myself would rather take my chances with the forest."

 

He paused.

 

"My apologies, I know he is your friend: we aren't far in, you should go back to him. You can follow my trail when he... When he's ready."

Silver Note quietly practiced lifting rocks and setting them down on tree stumps. It wasn't so bad!

 

Maybe he could use this magic to get a location on Minty. He concentrated for all his worth...

 

Silver's mind was filled with the image of a small hut in the woods, potions and strange artifacts all around and the small mint green mare collapsed in the middle of it. A strangely striped pony was with her. The vision faded.

 

"It worked!" he said triumphantly. But he was so afraid that Minty had been captured by some strange stripey pony. he looked down at his own dappled coat. She might not be so bad...people had judged him in the past by his coat type and they were wrong. He'd try to give this pony a chance if he could only find her.

 

"Fireblaze... I'm going to try and find Minty. Are you coming or not?" He didn't wait for a reply before he cantered off, following the trail of Minty's hoof prints.

" Gosh dangit." Lyona was standing in the middle of the clearing, alone. She shook her head and flew over the forest. After a few minutes, she finally spotted Fireblaze and Silver Note.

 

" There you are! Where is the rest of the group? You really shouldn't split up like this."

'Lyona!" he said nervously, trying to cover his horn with his hooves. "We were just.... looking for Minty. We split up to find her.... and I..... I... was just... "

 

Hangs his head in shame.

 

"Ok fine... I touched some poison Joke, it turned me into a unicorn and I was too embarrassed for Cinder to see me like this... I.... I ... have feelings for her and i didn't want her to think i was a complete loser and a feather brained twit."

 

He slumped down in a heap on the ground, a soft glow around his unicorn horn which he now focused on and controlled so it wouldn't do any damage.

A sinister pair of eyes surveyed the two ponies as Cinderblock and Redwave made their way through the misty forest.

 

"Ah, one of my favorite ponies...the gallant Sir Redwave... Perfectly suited to carry out my plans"

 

The creature laughed evilly to itself and remained hidden in the underbrush.

A hooded figure starts too approach the woods and notices Zecora looking around. The hooded figure walks up with pace.

 

"Hello I am looking for a group of Royal Guards in the forest, have you seen them?"

"What makes you think she has feelings for me... " Was the first stupid thing that Silver note blurted out. "What do you mean everypony but her knows... am I THAT see through... Oh never mind... the important thing is that even though I did screw up..... it's given me a slight advantage now. Fireblaze here has taught me how to channel the magic and I've received a vision of where Minty is.. it's a strange looking hut in the woods. There's a black and white striped pony with her... now lets hoof it in case she's in danger"

 

He said... the last sentence coming out a lot more harshly than he intended it to. Who was he to command his own commanding officer around... he just felt a bit flustered at what she had said earlier.

 

"Could Cinderblock really have feelings for me?" He thought to himself. "When she see's me in this condition its bound to change"

"Just follow the silver notes." he said, with a grin on his face... pleased at his little pun. "I could get use to this" he said, prancing forward with his old usual gait from the beginning of the mission returning.

 

"Cinder might have feelings for me" was all he could think of. He knew he shoud be thinking of more important things... such as the mission and an unseen enemy, and finding the rest of the group and saving Minty... but all he see in his minds eyes... was a tan mare with a coal black mane.

Silver stopped his prancing and hung his head guiltily. How could he be happy at a time like this!

 

"It looked pretty bad, and the trail I was following means was still bleeding. The vision I saw, she was lying pretty still... I just hope shes not..... " Silver Note gulped. "It wouldn't be your failure. Silver reassured Lyona noticing the look on her face. "I know you dont' want anypony to.... well you know...on your watch... This was my fault. You warned me to be quiet on this mission and I didn't listen. When everypony was trapped by the fear... I sounded a Danger warning... and I think it attracted those timber wolves and...."

 

Silver hunt his head sadly. 'I'm so sorry Lyona. but don't worry... I left my music bag in the dirt and I'll NEVER play them again...

Silver trotted forward following the magical notes.

A menancing shadow glared at the two ponies with haunting green eyes.

 

 

"Poor little Silver" it growled fiercly to itself from the shadows. "Just keep on thinking it was YOU who attracted those wolves... Guilt and shame...such powerful tools.... " Snarling the beast turned to three timber wolves

 

"Wait for my signal" it snarled. "Then we STRIKE!"

This was my fault. You warned me to be quiet on this mission and I didn't listen. When everypony was trapped by the fear... I sounded a Danger warning... and I think it attracted those timber wolves and...."

 

" No! It's not your fault. Don't you dare even think like that! Nopony's to blame. The timerwolves were nearby already, and would have smelled us. They have an extremely keen sense of smell, they were already here when you made your warning. "

 

She stopped in her tracks, and looked Silver dead in the eyes with a stern look. " Stop blaming yourself, okay? I can go fetch your instruments if you want. We could all honestly use some uplifting music right now."

Silver faced Lyona's stern look for a moment heaving a deep sigh. "Music come from the heart and soul, not from some instrument." he told her. Then despite all, he hugged her. "Thank you. You're the best leader ever." he said.

 

Something in the shadows growled angrily and slipped away.

The Zebra pointed a hoof towards the forest, in the direction Minty seemed to have come from

"Sure wish he would hurry up and make up the distance, there's something not right out here... It doesn't feel right. The Earth mare commented uneasily.

 

"Where is he?" She shuffled her hooves uncomfortably, trying to glance into the shadows. Being unable to do so, she pulled the goggles back up into their rightful position: the aqua tint giving her a reassuring feeling of familiarity.

Silver faced Lyona's stern look for a moment heaving a deep sigh. "Music come from the heart and soul, not from some instrument." he told her. Then despite all, he hugged her. "Thank you. You're the best leader ever." he said.

 

Lyona patted him on the back with a smile before breaking the hug. She opened her mouth to say something, but then she was interrupted by the growl. Her ears swiveled to the direction of the noise, and scanned the area for anything out of place.

 

-Probably just me being too jumpy.- She decided, not having found anything. She turned to Silver again. " Let's go. We must be close to one of them by now."

Minty was still in a sound sleep, off in her dream world. The vial containing the potion remained in her hoof, making it look somewhat like poison. She was breathing silently.
