"I didn't release her! The new pony tied her free!"

Redstorm looked at Cherry.

"That's not the greatest way to introduce yourself to a group... but since some of us here tried to smash my head in and ended up being with me, I'll look past that."

Johnny shook his head "any way make your self at home but dont be surprised if me or Cleo call on you to help renovate this place" he turned around walked twords his room now about heating up that shower  he thought, he then stopped "and red, dont throw threats at the second in command" he then walked to his room and saw Cleo "what are doing?" @@LittleRawr,

"Second in command!? Cleo!? Who's the leader!?"

"Bullshit..." He muttered as he saw Johnny walk into a dormroom.

"I'm not taking orders from anypony..."

He walked to the dormroom next to Acid's.

"Nice view..." He thought as he looked out the window. He spotted a fire glooming in the distance.

"More survivors?"

Red got a flashback from the first time he meet Swiggly.

"Nope. Not today."

" I had to make sure that that new pony hadn't stolen anything. Just incase." Cleo zipped up her bag again, then turned to Johnny.

 

" We need to fix the defenses and stuff now, right? So where do we start? Should we board up the windows?" 

 

Cleo then heard Redstorm yell about something, and rolled her eyes.

"well the first thing i want to do is fortify the gate, a simple iron gate wont hold back raiders" he heard reds yelling "dont mind him, hes just in shock i made you second in command around here" he floated out a book on heat based magic "well, im going to heat up the bathroom so you can use the shower, then ill think about how to fortify the gate"

Redstorm heard Johnny admitting that he was the leader.

*Really? Since when?*

He walked outside and started building snowponies that resembled the group. He built every single group member even Swiggly who was dead.

Redstorm then sat down infront of the snowponies. He just needed to do something. So he did.

"With the fortifying, it would be best to use bookcases. It may sound a bit crazy but the trees once used to make them are strong things, you'd be suprised at how good they are at stopping bullets from getting through." Cherry advised.

"We should start with the window first as they are the easiest way to get in the building. The bandits probably know this already so we should use this to our advantage and shoot at them from the windows."

Cleo had been looking in the window, watching Redstorm build snow-ponies. What the heck is he do- Her thoughts were cut off when she heard Cherry. She looked away from the window. 

 

" Hmm... Well, I think all the bandits are unicorns so we could probably just block the bottom windows, since I doubt that they're strong enough to levitate themselves."

Redstorm sat there for another second then stood up. He bashed snow-Cleo's face off. Then he headed inside.

"Acid?"

Acid ran out of his dorm.

"Yeah?"

"Have you seen any tables around here? Wooden ones?"

"Mhm?"

"C'mon. Let's bring them up here, demolish them and block our windows. Unless you want your head get blown off."

The went upstairs and started dragging the small wooden tables to their dorm.

Raze went towards Red. "I'll go and help too. The more we have working on this, the faster we'll get done, right?"

 

He went over and found two wooden tables. He took one and dragged it back to the dorms. In the meanwhile, he went and talked to Red.

 

"How you holding up? Last time I saw you, you weren't doing alright."

Redstorm smirked.

"I'm fine. Just feels weird that Johnny made himself the leader." He said while smashing one of the chairs into smaller pieces.

"And he made Cleo second in command... oh boy, Cleo's gonna make me wash her hooves or something." He laughed.

"Is Johnny a bossy boss by the way?"

Raze shrugged. "As far as I know, not really. I think he's just confident that he can lead a group, so if he wants to do that, just let him."

 

He set down a table in front of him. "Cleo, on the other hand... in your case, you should be really worried." He laughed a bit, then looked at Acid.

 

"And how are you holding up, kid?"

"Well, you don't know what kind of supplies they could have or how powerful they are. It's just the windows are an easy entrance for them. We should just block off as much as possible." Cherry replied.

 

Cherry thought that she might as well get to work with boarding up the windows so she kicked the legs off a table and heaved it over to a window near one of the entrances. She then propped it against the window and pondered what to use to keep it in place.

" Strange as it sounds, I don't really want to wreck the university. It's still clean and stuff, and we need tables. Maybe we should go check the room where they keep all the fixing stuff, we could find something there." Cleo offered. " They have to have a room like that somewhere..."

Blue went for the main doors and gates and used his nature magic to entangle the doors with vines and grass

"This should hold... unless the bandits use fire and lawn mowers" Blue chuckled and moved on sealing many entrances.

"gotta seal up the vents and shafts too"

"Hm? Oh... I'm fine."

"I AM actually kind of worried. Me and Swiggly used to put so much pressure on her... maybe if I just ignore her..."

Redstorm finished barricading his window.

"There. Now I need another room for looking at the landscape." He laughed and started destroying more tables.

"I see what you mean, I quite rare to come across a place like this which is untouched." Cherry felt a bit guilty after leaving the cafeteria in a mess after a bandit fight a month ago. "Though it's a bit like snow when it settles. It looks beautiful when it hasn't been touched but you know, with time, the snow will be altered in some way by the harsh world that surrounds it."

 

Cherry realised that she went off into another one of his poem things. "Sorry, I used to be a jounalist before all this. I think room for that would be near the theater which is north from here."

Cleo rolled her eyes, but nodded in sympathy afterwards. " I was a songwriter and singer before this, so I can somewhat understand. Let's head there, then. You sure that they have boards and stuff? We'll probably need nails and hammers too..." She pondered while chewing on something that she had gotten out of her bag.

Strange as it sounds, I don't really want to wreck the university. It's still clean and stuff, and we need tables. Maybe we should go check the room where they keep all the fixing stuff, we could find something there

(that moment when Heartbeat was saying the same thing)

 

Straight sat there in his own little world, Heartbeat watched him as he just stared into nothing.

"What is he thinking right now, is he at peace? All he wanted was to find me. What have I done to him?"

The drug was completely ready, Straight wasn't going to be infiltrating any universities, but he was ready. She took out a pill.

"One dose should be enough." Heartbeat thought as she put it in his mouth. It dissolved and the drug took effect

Straight was dreaming, he was with Heartbeat, everything was ok. She wasn't mad at him. It felt like years since they finally met up.

"Straight, it's time to get up."

His eyes opened, he was in a lab, with Heartbeat standing there.

"Heartbeat? What happened, I must have knocked out when I saw yo-"

"It's fine, you were tired."

"You look tired as well."

"It's nothing"

"Like hell it's nothing, what's wrong."

"Bandits are fighting over the university, That was my place, well it's not really mine, but I liked going there. A pony named Steel wants to kill them...and me..."

"Steel?"

"But I need you to go back to your group. They need help. They don't know that if any of them leave the building they will be shot. I have a way to beat Steel, but I need more time."

"I'm not going anywhere not until we talk abou-"

"There is no time, go!"

"Ok, but don't you die on me Heartbeat."

Straight couldn't believe he was leaving her so soon, but he had to get back.

"I'll relay instructions to you with mind magic."

"Got it."

 

Straight grabbed his gear in the corner. Everything was in place, even his food. Standing on the roof, he viewed the university. 

With a teleport he was on top of the building. But the entrances where sealed on top. With a lay of land spell, he could tell the group had been particular in keeping out ponies. The next thing he saw made his hair stand up on end, he detected about 30 ponies in other buildings, all with rifles. The only thing that was on his mind was,

"Why aren't they firing?"

The green pony spotted Straight.

"Steel? I think the spy is in place."

"Great. Stand your ground. Operation "We kill the group and take the city with the help of Heartbeat, who we're gonna kill afterwards" Go!"

"Uh..."

"That means wait."

"Right, don't know how I didn't get it in the first place..." The green pony rolled his eyes.

Straight managed to find an air vent on the roof to the university. With a few seconds of magic, the grate was off and Straight decended down into the school. He opened the first panel he could find and dropped into a classroom. Chemistry class, without thinking Straight looked for any supplies to use. The only thing he found was a gas main for the bunson burners. But another thing caught his eye, the chem storage. He didn't know a lot about chemicals but he knew when you mess with them, they sometimes explodes. He took note of this as he stepped out into the hallway looking for the group.

"It's only a matter of time before they try to leave."

"I'm pretty sure they'll have what we need. Since it was a theater, they must have made at least some of the props and whatnot. Thought I haven't been there yet as I've had no real need to. Nevertheless, it's our best bet." Cherry made her way towards the door. "You wanna get going then?"

Redstorm had smashed all the tables, but Acid's room still needed some planks.

Pretty sure I haven't checked all the rooms. Be right back"

He made his way upstairs and saw Straight Shot standing in the hallway.

"Straight? Where the hell have you been? We've been looking for you all over the place!" He laughed started walking closer to Straight Shot.

"You wanna get going then?"

 

" Sure-" Cleo was interrupted when she heard Redstorm call for Straight Shot. " Actually, wait a sec. Another pony from our group showed up, we gotta do that update thing. You can go ahead to the theatre, or come with me." Cleo walked into the hallway where Straight Shot and Redstorm was.

Raze saw Straight, and gave a quiet nod as he approached him. He turned around as he saw Cleo and another pony he didn't know who had a cherry cutie mark, which raised his suspicion a bit. He gave her a quick glance, then turned away.

 

"Well, looks like the gang's mostly here. Where the hell is Johnny?"
